Chapter 46 The Dinner
When Zhu Fan returned home with the chosen gift, Meng Yin urged her to go upstairs to change her clothes as soon as she entered the door.
The afternoon party is over.
Meng Yin smiled gently, "All of A-Yuan's invited classmates have come, and she gets along very well with them."
Today, those ladies also had nothing but praise for A-Yuan.
Meng Yin's joyful mood infected Zhu Fan.
She also hopes that A-Yuan can make more friends.
Meng Yin took a tissue and wiped the sweat from Zhu Fan's forehead. "Grandma and Dad have already taken the guests to the winery, and A-Yuan has gone there too."
Tonight's dinner for the Zhu family is being held at the winery run by Meng Yin.
Zhu Fan changed into her formal attire as quickly as possible and put on the matching jewelry.
She didn't choose those two pairs of haute couture high heels.
Her feet aren't suitable for wearing high heels right now.
Fortunately, the dress was long enough to cover the sneakers.
Ji Shu took another spare dress to the car.
Meng Yin, carrying her makeup bag, said, "Our Afan is so beautiful that you can't take your eyes off her even without makeup."
Zhu Fan got into the car and let her mother do her makeup.
She took the mirror from Meng Yin.
"Aren't you amazed by your own beauty?"
Seeing that her daughter was looking in the mirror without saying a word, Meng Yin smiled and teased her.
Zhu Fan pointed to her lips, "The lipstick color is too dark."
Meng Yin wouldn't let her wipe it, saying, "It looks nice."
The vehicle drove into the medieval castle winery.
The estate is discreet and secluded, with grapevines planted on both sides of the driveway. The vehicle drove through the passageway of the large wine cellar building and stopped in front of the estate owner's house.
Zhu Fan was at a loss for words.
She exclaimed in her heart with the simplest words: The winery is so big, and the buildings are so beautiful.
In the afternoon, Zhu Wan's classmates and family members, who had been invited, were among the first to arrive at the manor with the host.
The winery has a swimming pool, tennis court, golf course, and other recreational facilities.
There's still some time before we leave our seats.
Zhu Fan followed Meng Yin into the room.
The banquet was proceeding smoothly under the arrangement of the winery's butler.
Meng Yin took her daughter's arm and said, "Let's go find Grandma, Dad, and A-Yuan."
"Mrs. Zhu."
Meng Yin stopped and, upon seeing who it was, said gratefully, "Zhong Fei, thank you for coming to perform today."
This internationally renowned violin prodigy, only 20 years old, cannot be invited even with a large sum of money.
She was genuinely grateful that Zhong Fei had given her the honor of coming today.
Zhong Fei smiled faintly, "Madam Zhu helped me before, so I'll come over as long as you ask."
Meng Yin smiled gently, "Thank you for your hard work tonight. I'll definitely give you a big red envelope after the banquet."
"I found two more bottles of that wine you like."
Zhong Fei blinked her long, curled eyelashes in a beautiful arc. "The two bottles of wine you found are enough for ten of my performances."
Meng Yin laughed out loud, "I'll find you some wine, and you'll perform for me. Isn't that a great deal?"
"You also need to give me a red envelope."
Meng Yin: "A big red envelope."
Zhong Fei smiled and politely looked at Zhu Fan, who was standing next to Meng Yin: "This must be the young lady. You are very beautiful."
Zhu Fan met Zhong Fei's gaze.
The woman's black dress hem covered her ankles, her eyebrows and eyes were gentle and calm, and she wore a pair of exquisite pearl earrings. Her slightly curled black hair fell naturally down to her chest, and her dark eyes were deep and calm. Looking into her eyes, one felt as if they were being drawn into those black pupils.
She slightly looked away. "You're beautiful too."
Zhong Fei asked playfully, "So, between you and me, who do you think is prettier?"
Zhu Fan was taken aback by the woman's sudden approach.
Zhong Fei saw the slight smile on the girl's lips and was somewhat disappointed. "I thought you would say I'm prettier, Miss."
Meng Yin looked up from her phone. "They're all beautiful."
"The old lady is urging us, Zhong Fei, let's go over first."
As Zhu Fan and Zhong Fei passed each other, they caught a faint scent of mint leaves.
It is refreshing and cool.
The sky was completely dark.
Guests also arrived one after another.
Zhu Fan and Zhu Wan sat down one after the other beside Old Madam Zhu.
There are three seats left at the main table.
Zhu Fan turned her head to greet Qiu Chen, who was calling her from two tables away.
Qiu Chen gestured for her to look at her phone.
Zhu Fan turned on his phone.
Qiu Chen: [Come to our table quickly, and bring your sister along too.]
Qiu Chen: [If you don't satisfy our curiosity, we might all come over!]
Zhu Fan gave Qiu Chen a look that seemed to say, "Please control yourselves."
She called out to A-Yuan, "I'll introduce you to my friends; they're all very curious about you."
Grandma Zhu instructed, "The banquet is about to begin. Say hello and then come back."
"Afan, don't let them bother Ayuan."
Zhu Wan lifted her skirt, feeling like her face was practically frozen from smiling all day.
Zhu Fan poked at the corner of her lips and said, "Relax your facial expressions, I'm afraid your face will cramp up."
Zhu Wan exclaimed, "Sister, how do you manage to be so relaxed and at ease?"
Zhu Fan smiled and said, "Because I'm not wearing high heels today."
She endured the pain so that her leg wouldn't limp and she could walk gracefully.
You can tell she's relaxed.
Qiu Chen and his group of young men stood up. Their table was specially set up so that they wouldn't sit with the elders.
The group of people at the table, dressed in suits and ties, rose in perfect unison, their movements precise and synchronized, making it a very solemn and dignified occasion.
Seeing this, Zhu Wan hid behind Zhu Fan.
Zhu Fan smiled helplessly, "Are you guys greeting each other or going to fight?"
Qiu Chen walked up to Zhu Fan in a few steps, and when he saw Zhu Wan clearly, he was stunned: "Hey, this little sister looks familiar, I feel like I've seen her somewhere before."
Someone scoffed, "Oh, our Chen'er should change his name to Baoyu today."
Yi Jia, at the next table, called out to Zhu Fan, "Zhu Fan, don't hide your sister behind the scenes."
Yi's mother gave her daughter a reproachful look.
Yi Jia touched his nose.
Zhu Fan revealed Zhu Wan behind him.
Zhu Wan pursed her lips and smiled sweetly: "Hello."
Hello, little sister.
The unanimous voices at the table made Zhu Fan want to get away from them as soon as possible.
It's such an eye-catching bag.
Qiu Chen laughed out loud, "Zhu Fan, your sister is really well-behaved."
"Gou Bai and I met your sister at Peking University."
Zhu Wan glanced at the people on the table.
I didn't see that figure.
Qiu Chen grinned, "Looking for Fang Qibai?"
Zhu Wan's face turned red instantly.
Zhu Fan blocked Qiu Chen's way, saying, "Don't scare my sister."
Qiu Chen lowered his voice and smiled gently and politely: "Your old lady has come over. Quickly take your sister back and let her be your good girl."
When Zhu Fan led Zhu Wan back to sit next to the old lady, Zhu Linjun and Meng Yin also brought the last guest to sit at the main table.
Zhu Fan tilted her head when she heard the noise from Qiu Chen's table.
That glance caught sight of Fang Qizhou, who had casually settled into his seat.
As if sensing something, Fang Qizhou turned his head to look at her.
Zhu Fan stared into the man's dark eyes, almost unable to look away.
Fang Qizhou sat in the chair with his legs crossed, looking languid and aloof.
His appearance as a thug in a suit made her heart pound.
Following her sister's gaze, Zhu Wan saw the person she had been searching for but hadn't seen, as well as a dangerously handsome man whom she didn't dare to look at.
Grandma Zhu noticed her granddaughters' unwavering gazes and coughed lightly.
The sound of a violin began.
During the meal, the old lady introduced Zhu Wan.
Zhu Wan's thin back was straight, and the smile on her lips was polite and well-behaved.
When asked questions by elders, Zhu Wan answered them without hesitation.
Although his voice was not loud, he was polite and poised.
A lady asked with a smile, "Where's Xiao Ci?"
Grandma Zhu put some food on Zhu Wan's plate, saying, "She's sick, let her rest at home."
The old lady's gesture of serving food to Zhu Wan, and the fact that the fake heiress was absent from the banquet, made the lady who asked the question somewhat embarrassed.
A clear voice rang out, "What talents does A-Yuan possess?"
Grandma Zhu glanced at her eldest son who had spoken, "A-Yuan has had a long day, let her eat well."
Zhu Fan was eating quietly when she heard her grandmother telling her to play the cello, and she looked up.
Everyone at the table was looking at her.
Meng Yin smiled gently at her, and Zhu Linjun's eyes were full of encouragement.
