Chapter 26 Shen Linyue's Spirit

He Xiao was a stubborn man and ultimately didn't listen to Shen Linyue's advice to go to the hospital.

Shen Linyue, who was carrying a bucket of milk tea all the way home, didn't even glance at He Xiao.

She was very angry because she remembered that the original novel mentioned that He Xiao had a minor problem with his left hand, which would hurt on rainy days, and that he couldn't exert too much force.

The original text didn't explain in detail how his hand got like that, and Shen Linyue didn't pay much attention when she read it.

But just as I was about to return to the villa, this scene inexplicably popped into my head.

Suddenly, even the milk tea in her mouth lost its flavor, and the way she looked at He Xiao seemed like she wanted to poke a hole in him.

He Xiao, however, didn't seem to care at all, and even raised his hand to show her that he was perfectly fine.

"Don't I know whether my body is healthy or not? Why are you so angry? That's ridiculous."

Shen Linyue's gaze followed his movements, her heart pounding, her eyes widening: "It's your body, so why don't you take it seriously? Don't blame me if you have any problems later."

Thinking about his basketball game tomorrow, if he goes on the court without any protection, even if he's fine today, his hand will be ruined by tomorrow.

Shen Linyue felt suffocated thinking about all this. She couldn't stop He Xiao from playing in tomorrow's match because she knew better than anyone how much He Xiao valued this game.

These are matters of pride for young people; reputation in Taipei is secondary.

She sighed deeply, her mind elsewhere. She couldn't tell He Liyu about this yet; the boy had forced her not to say anything when she returned.

They even forced her to swear an oath, haha.

"Just apply some medicine when you get back." He Xiao glanced down at her condescendingly. "Alright, stop looking so long, or Uncle Xiao will think I did something to you."

Shen Linyue didn't bother arguing with him and walked past him directly into the villa.

Uncle Xiao had already heard the commotion outside the door and stood at the door to greet them.

When he saw Shen Linyue return, his face lit up with a wide smile.

"Miss Lin Yue, you're back. Chef Zhang has made a lot of desserts. Would you like me to bring them to you?"

However, Shen Linyue was preoccupied with her thoughts and had little appetite today. Although she had a smile on her face, it was a forced one, as if she was just putting on a show for them.

"No need for now, I've already eaten out."

Butler Xiao Bo was taken aback. He wanted to say something but then noticed her unusual mood, so he swallowed his words and replied, "Okay, I understand."

After saying this, she looked at the young master beside her, wondering if he had lost his temper with Miss Lin Yue and made her angry.

Miss Lin Yue's appetite is even smaller than usual today.

He Xiao didn't see the butler's reproachful look. After Shen Linyue went upstairs, he didn't linger and went straight upstairs to his room to wash up.

...

Two hours have passed since the game started. He Xiao's hair is still half-dry after washing up, softly sticking to his forehead. He has lost the flamboyance he had during the day, and even his eyebrows and eyes have softened. He looks gentle, obedient, and sunny.

He was standing in front of the sink, wearing a short-sleeved shirt at home. The mirror reflected a large bruise on his arm, which looked quite frightening.

He Xiao frowned as he applied the medicine to his arm to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.

The pain in his arm was far more severe than he had imagined, but even so he remained silent and refused to go to the hospital.

Just as he was wiping, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

He paused for a moment, then quickly lowered his arm and put on a long-sleeved shirt before opening the door.

The door opened, and Shen Linyue, wearing an adorable fluffy bathrobe, appeared before us.

"Why are you here?" He reverted to his usual carefree demeanor.

He Xiao did not fully open the door, leaving only a gap for half of his body.

Shen Linyue's gaze swept over him, and she raised an eyebrow at his thin jacket: "Why are you wearing two layers of clothing today?"

She knew that He Xiao liked to wear long pants and a short-sleeved shirt and wander around the house after washing up every day. The He family was quite wealthy, and no matter how cold it was outside, the house was kept at a constant temperature of over 20 degrees Celsius.

"You haven't answered my question yet, why should I answer you?" He still had that smug look on his face.

Shen Linyue rolled her eyes and took out the medicinal wine in her hand. It was specially made to treat sprains and bruises, and she had gotten it from the butler, Uncle Xiao.

This is something the person brewed themselves; it's very precious and supposedly very effective. Uncle Xiao said that when his legs hurt, he would use this and rest for one night and he would feel better.

I also told her how to use it in conjunction with a massage.

Of course, Shen Linyue had to give it a try for He Xiao. Regardless of whether it would work or not, He Xiao was going to play tomorrow, and she couldn't just stand by and watch his hand get worse while she did nothing.

"I brought you the medicine, don't take my kindness for granted."

He Xiao blinked, his gaze falling on the glass bottle in her hand, which contained some kind of dark medicine. His eyes twitched slightly.

Is this really not poisonous?

If it weren't for his height, Shen Linyue would have really wanted to jump up and smash his head in. A boy's nagging is so annoying, it's almost like He Liyu in that respect.

"If you're poisoned, then you should go to the hospital, hehe." Shen Linyue sneered, and then said, "This medicine needs to be used with professional massage techniques. Let me in, and I'll apply the medicine for you."

He Xiao's somewhat disdainful look immediately changed, and he leaned forward to block the doorway, preventing Shen Linyue from entering.

"Is it appropriate for a girl like you to go into a boy's room? No, give me the medicine, I'll take it myself."

Shen Linyue: ? ? ?

She knew everyone had their own privacy, but she didn't come up with any ulterior motives; she just wanted to apply medicine to him, yet he was still so wary of her.

Suddenly, her eyes reddened, and she felt both angry and annoyed.

"If you hate me, just say so. Why are you so defensive? I advised you to go to the hospital, and you snapped at me. I asked you a few questions, and now it's my fault? Fine, you're so high and mighty. Go ahead and do it yourself. What do I care if you live or die?"

After yelling, she shoved the medicine into his arms without looking at him and ran away.

He Xiao was also stunned. Holding the medicine bottle, he stared at Shen Linyue's retreating figure, a sense of panic rising within him. That wasn't what he meant...

Shen Linyue felt bitter. She thought about how the first thing she learned after she came to this world was what tragic fate awaited her future child.

Without thinking much, she ran straight to He Xiao, even using her distant aunt's identity to get close to him.

During their time together, she discovered that He Xiao was just a tsundere kid who wasn't a bad person at heart. The two often bickered but it didn't affect their relationship. But today he was injured, and she was already anxious, plus there was the allegory in the book. She simply couldn't sit idly by and ignore his arm.

And what about He Xiao? He didn't care at all whether his body would develop health problems later!

He rejected her time and time again, and his words were sharp. Even a clay figure has some temper, and she used to be a pampered young lady who was cherished by her father.

So what if they're her own children? She can't be bothered to care!

My good intentions were completely wasted!
