Mingyue x Xu Jianzhou ③
In a daze, he recalled the day he first met Mingyue.
At that time, he was ordered by his master to go to Qingqiu to investigate the strange activities of a fox demon that was absorbing the life essence of mortals. Although the fox demon was feeding on corrupt officials who oppressed the people and plundered their wealth, in the rules of the Celestial Masters Sect, a demon is a demon, and if it harms people, it should be subdued.
He carried his magical implements and searched the forest for half a day before finally stopping by a clear stream. On a blue stone by the stream sat a man in a blue robe.
The man's dark hair was loosely tied back with a plain-colored ribbon as he teased a small fish in the stream with a tender green willow leaf. His upturned eyes curved slightly, making him so beautiful that it was impossible to look away.
Xu Jianzhou was so distracted that he almost forgot the purpose of his visit. He hid behind a tree and secretly watched for a long time.
At that time, he did not know that the fox demon was the one his master had sent him to subdue.
"Ugh!" Another wave of intense pain struck. Xu Jianzhou saw that Ming Yue's eyes were bloodshot, and her nine fox tails were covered in blood. But the moment she caught sight of him, she stopped abruptly.
Mingyue finally broke free from the struggle, rushed to Xu Jianzhou's side, picked him up, and turned to rush into the inner hall.
The palace doors slammed shut, shutting out the fighting outside. He placed Xu Jianzhou on the couch, gathered his magic power at his fingertips, and continuously channeled it into the other's body. However, the golden light of the arrow that slayed demons kept devouring the demonic power, and the wound showed no signs of healing.
“It’s no use…” Xu Jianzhou weakly grasped Mingyue’s hand, “This is the Heavenly Master Sect’s demon-slaying arrow… Demons will lose all their cultivation if hit… Mortals… Mortals will surely die if hit…”
Mingyue was taken aback upon hearing this.
Xu Jianzhou looked at the phoenix coronet and wedding robes that she was still wearing. The bright red fabric made Mingyue's skin look even whiter than snow. Today, he had specially applied rouge, the light red color spreading along her cheeks and sweeping down her eyes, adding a touch of charming naivety to her already alluring eyes.
For a moment, Xu Jianzhou had a strange feeling that the person in front of him was his wife. No, they had already bowed to heaven and earth; from that moment on, Mingyue was his wife.
His consciousness gradually faded, and everything before his eyes blurred. The last thing he saw was Mingyue's clear, bright eyes.
"How beautiful," Xu Jianzhou thought in a daze.
Mingyue watched quietly as Xu Jianzhou's breathing gradually stopped, his chest heaving weaker and weaker, until finally it became completely still. His expression remained unchanged, eerily calm.
Just then, a demon servant's voice came from outside the palace gate: "My lord, Elder Qingfeng has led several disciples of the Celestial Masters Sect to break through the defenses and flee down the mountain. Should we give chase?"
"Chase them," Mingyue said coldly. "Kill them one by one when you see them."
The footsteps outside the door quickly faded away, and the room returned to silence.
Mingyue withdrew his gaze and returned it to Xu Jianzhou's face. He raised his hand to wipe away the bloodstains at the corner of the other's mouth, and then gently stroked his pale cheek. Wherever his demonic power touched, the deathly aura on Xu Jianzhou's face gradually faded, and he regained some of his vitality, looking as if he had just fallen asleep.
After doing all this, he tilted his head and a faint smile appeared on his lips: "That's fine too."
He reached up and pulled down his robe, the bright red shawl slipping off his shoulder and revealing his fair skin underneath. He straddled Xu Jianzhou, his body pressing against the other's gradually cooling body, his eyes slowly becoming hazy.
"Don't be afraid, my husband." He lowered his head, his lips gently brushing against Xu Jianzhou's lips, his demonic power flowing into the other's body continuously. "I will use magic to ensure that my husband's body will never decay or rot. I said I would keep my word, that you would be locked up here for the rest of your life, serving me day and night, and you would not be able to go anywhere else."
After doing all this, he tilted his head back slightly, and the light pink blush at the corners of his eyes became even darker.
"Ugh... Husband... I can't take it anymore..."
