Chapter 30: A heartwarming father-daughter moment at the amusement park. Next time…

The excessively hot air had dissipated, leaving only slightly damp clouds obscuring the clear sky. The mild, familiar scent of fireworks permeated the crowd and then dissipated into the air.

Enid excitedly pressed against the window, watching the rapidly passing scene unfold like a fast-paced comic book. She turned to say something, but then saw Bruce with his eyes closed, seemingly asleep. Enid paused, then pursed her lips and turned back to look out the window.

Bruce opened his eyes after the car came to a complete stop, looking at Enid who was keeping quiet and moving carefully, afraid of waking him.

"Let's go, Fia."

"Hmm!" Enid skipped over, then stopped abruptly, standing parallel to Bruce before continuing forward with a smile. "Did Father book the whole place? It doesn't feel like anyone's here!"

"Yes, Fia, don't you dislike crowds?"

Bruce certainly remembered the VIP lounge that Wayne had rarely used when Damian first came out with Enid. He knew very well that even though Enid greeted people smoothly at banquets, Bruce didn't think it was a big deal. Booking the whole place was the easiest thing for them.

This is just like the oak trees in Wayne Manor; it's nothing out of the ordinary.

“Actually, I don’t hate being in crowds as much anymore. Seeing crowds now reminds me of the people struggling to survive in Gotham, and the Bat-shaped lights that illuminate the night, so I’m not afraid anymore.” Yes, Enid could tell herself she was no longer afraid to walk in crowds, and she wouldn’t tremble anymore. But she looked up at Bruce with a beautiful smile, “But I really enjoy going to the amusement park alone with my father. Does he take pictures? I want to take a picture with you!”

"Of course, it's very simple."

She didn't fall in love with humans, but rather fell in love with humans because of them.

While Bruce was pleased with her tender mood at that moment, he hoped even more that she would continue to love what she had seen—the shimmering, the gentle, the hardworking and the real—rather than letting them amplify their love for an entire race because of any single group. But there was no rush; there was plenty of time.

Of course, there would be plenty of time, Bruce firmly believed.

Inside the amusement park, where there was no queue, a large plush toy holding flowers and balloons was waving at Enid. It was Mr. Blue Dog, whom she had seen on TV a few days ago. She happily prepared to go up and take a picture with it, then turned to look at Bruce.

"Would you like to take a picture with Father?"

"Maybe I can take your photos?"

Bruce waved his professional camera, indicating that his current temporary job was as a photographer, a dedicated photographer temporarily serving little Enid. He quickly snapped many photos of them, including a candid shot of the blue dog patting her head with its fluffy paw pads.

"I received so much puppy energy! Thank you so much~~"

After waving to the puppy, Enid looked at Bruce with expectant eyes: "Can we take a picture together when we meet Officer Rabbit?"

"Of course you can, but would you like to try this ride?" Bruce gestured to the amusement park ride in front of him.

It was the carousel, the most popular ride for kids here, but Enid shook her head and said, "Actually, I want to try the roller coaster, because I ride horses all the time. If Dad likes it, I can persuade Aura to let you ride it!" Enid already knew from Aura that Bruce and the others would secretly come to brush her fur and provide other services.

Of course, she didn't mean to expose Bruce, but it seems she still revealed that she already knew. Bruce didn't expect to keep it a secret for long, but to be honest, who can resist a unicorn, right?

“That’s a good idea, I agree. Of course, we still need to consult Ms. Aura’s opinion; we don’t need to carry too many people.”

After enjoying the shade, Bruce cut down the tree. Of course, Enid readily agreed, so it's clear that only Bruce got the chance. Apart from Damian, no one else had ever ridden in a unicorn. Of course, Enid didn't tell Dick about this, maintaining the principle of secrecy, right?

Therefore, after reaching an agreement, the carousel was skipped, and other entertainment projects were next. However, they happened to pass by a haunted house, from which came shrill screams, which instantly attracted Enid's attention. In the corner outside the haunted house, there was a little deer (a doll) squatting pitifully, drawing on the corner of the wall.

"It's Little Deer! Little Deer, what's wrong with you!"

The little deer raised her head and gestured vigorously, roughly meaning that the monster in the haunted house had stolen her gem, and now she had lost her superpowers and was a useless little deer. Could she please help her?

“Okay! I will definitely help you find the gem! Wait for me, little deer!” Enid nodded vigorously. “Let’s go, Father, let’s go to the haunted house! Let’s get the gem back.”

Bruce actually knew a little about this project. It's usually open to lucky kids, and of course, this is the luckiest kid available right now. So he obediently followed Enid into the haunted house. Probably thanks to his skills honed as Batman, the mechanisms inside seemed like toys to him.

After hesitating for a moment, she decided to remain silent, watching Enid begin to prepare to solve the case with a serious expression. A white ghost rushed out from the corner and floated around in front of her, and there were even various scary and terrifying facilities, but well, they didn't scare Enid at all. The staff behind the monitor, seeing her expression, prepared to press the difficult switch.

Just a second before he pressed the button, his supervisor appeared in front of him and warned him in a low voice, "Are you out of your mind? I am. This is Wayne's territory." The supervisor's serious figure frightened the staff member, who then tremblingly withdrew his hand. In that instant, Enid had already obtained the gem.

Enid, having obtained the Sparkling Gem, happily waved it in front of Bruce: "Wow, I look pretty amazing, don't I? But actually, this is quite simple. I've had much more difficult treasure hunts in the forest before!"

"That sounds interesting, can you tell me about it?"

Bruce was very interested in everything Enid had experienced in the forest, so after Enid returned the gem to the deer, she took a picture with Bruce before finding a place to buy two cups of water and then began to recount the chase in the forest.

"Actually, the reason for that was that I lost an egg. It wasn't a very expensive egg, but I found it in Lady Niaf's treasure. It just hadn't hatched yet, so I used it as a pretty decoration. But one day the egg disappeared!"

At that time, Enid had just gotten out of bed, finished her morning prayers, and contemplated the life laws of all things in nature before walking barefoot back to her room to read a book or do something else interesting. Then she discovered that the egg was missing from where it had been placed. She frantically searched all the cabins, including the group of small cabins she had built herself in the corner of the forest, as well as the areas around many collapsed or buried cabins.

But they found nothing, and even after asking all their companions, they got no results. None of them were guarding the cabin, which was strange but also quite normal.

"It sounds bizarre, but you found it later?"

“Hmm…” Enid was about to say something praising herself, but after thinking it over, she couldn’t bring herself to say it. It seemed like she had absolutely no talent for lying, so she could only silently tell the truth: “Actually, I asked Mother Goddess. I searched everywhere, and it was already evening, but I still had no results, so I asked Mother Goddess at night. But you would never guess where the egg is!”

Enid had asked the Mother Goddess for an answer, so she rushed over and found the egg. To her surprise, it had already hatched, had it? Bruce's words perfectly matched the actual scene.

"Yes, it's already hatched! That's amazing! How did Father know?"

"After all, you said that there are no other humans in the forest besides you and Mary, right?"

"Alright... as expected of a father."

It didn't stump him at all! There was a slight regret, but it was alright. Enid thought for a moment and decided not to keep him in suspense any longer. She was about to tell him the truth, but she was a little curious, so she tilted her head and looked at Bruce with her eyes full of anticipation.

"Can Father guess who it will be in the end?"

“Let me think,” Bruce said, feigning thought, then quickly replied, “It’s that little fire dragon, isn’t it?”

Her eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but applaud Bruce to express her sincere admiration. "Father, you're amazing! How do you know everything? Yes, it's that little fire dragon. I didn't expect it to hatch. It's incredible."

Yes, it actually managed to hatch?

Bruce's view on this matter differed from Enid's optimism; it contained a degree of caution. According to Enid, the egg had initially lost its life signs but hatched under certain circumstances.

Bruce wasn't sure if this was related to the Heart of Nature, or perhaps to those animals that should have disappeared but ended up living in the forest. He had some doubts.

"This is truly amazing. Perhaps we can bring it to the Bat Cave to take a look next time?"

"OK!"

Enid hadn't considered anything unusual about Saint Lin, because to her it was all normal. Bruce didn't delve into the topic either. He didn't really intend to keep it from Enid, but because it involved too many things, he felt it was best not to tell her without a definite truth.

Most importantly, what Mary Reid's letter revealed made him suspicious of certain things.

But Enid doesn't need to worry about this until the truth is revealed.

"Alright, Fia, maybe we should go find Officer Rabbit and the roller coaster next?"

"Yay! I'm going to post the group photo in the group chat, and then next time we can all come together and take another photo with Officer Rabbit!"

Upon hearing Enid's innocent and adorable idea, Bruce couldn't help but smile slightly, then nodded in agreement. To be honest, he was also quite looking forward to it.

"Hmm...that's a good idea? Of course, I think you'll need to convince them."

Author's note: I'll definitely come back next time. Whether I can pull the others up depends on Enid's own efforts, hahaha [shy]
