Chapter 59, Chapter 59: Apple Milk Green Sacred Forest's Annual Project...
Stepping into the forest once again, Dick's mood seemed to have undergone an indescribable change; at least he thought the lush trees had become even more lovely.
Sunlight filtered through the leaves, gently kissing the flower buds on the ground. He could even hear the crisp "pop" of the flowers breaking through the soil, like a soda bottle bursting open. It was as if Enid had suddenly turned around, her bright eyes reflecting the forest perfectly, so clear and gentle.
"Want to guess what the lake water tastes like today?"
On moonless nights, the lake water smells like minty milky green; when the moon is out, it might smell like strawberries, but now it's a sunny morning.
"Let me think... Hmm, soda?" He'd seen Enid and Tim drinking soda together a few days ago, and Enid, remembering that day, smiled sheepishly before becoming self-assured. "Drinking more soda in the summer is fine," she said. "Wait a minute, you'll never guess this time!"
A little carried away by her excitement, Enid jumped into Dick's arms, where he caught her steadily. She wrapped her arms around his neck and brought her nose close to his. He could probably smell the citrus scent of shampoo in Enid's hair and the half-apple earring hanging from her ear.
"It's an apple, right?"
"ah?!!!!"
Enid paused for a moment, then gently bumped his forehead, looking a little sulky. She felt like she had given herself away because she had worn apple earrings since today's theme was apple milk tea, which she had bought when she went shopping with Stacy last time.
"It seems I guessed right. Your Highness, is there any prize I could receive?"
She always had some cute little thoughts cautiously surfacing, but Dick always managed to spot them at first glance. For example, her earrings were particularly noticeable when she got close, and she always saw various milk tea recipes after learning to use the internet. Unfortunately, some of the shops weren't that far away, so she had to give up on them with regret.
Dick knew that her wish would be fulfilled here, rather than following the agreement between the moon and the sun, it was more like a lovely misunderstanding in Enid's heart.
"Hmm... I've got it!" Meeting those ridiculously beautiful eyes, Enid gave Dick a light kiss on the lips, then jumped down and ran off. "This is the reward! Now it's time to work, and I'll treat you to something after we're done—what's it called? Right, apple milk tea!"
Enid awkwardly recalled the names and translations of the milk tea on the forum, and said the somewhat complicated name rather unnaturally. In fact, she had never tried it before, but she saw many international students discussing it on the forum, so she was tempted.
Dick slowed his pace as much as possible, otherwise he probably would have caught her by now. Enid was indeed a bit slow; perhaps she could strengthen her basic physical training a bit, but of course, he shouldn't tell her now. Unexpectedly, Enid, who had suddenly received more physical training, was running ahead triumphantly, happy that she had overtaken Dick.
However, Enid was caught just before reaching her destination.
"I knew it! So, Mr. Nightwing, you were holding back, weren't you? Next time I use magic, you definitely won't be able to catch me." Her big eyes were full of little resentment. "As punishment, you have to help... bathe the little sheep."
The sheep of various colors that had been hiding in the huge cave behind Enid slowly came out and lay down on the ground. The largest one stood behind them, while the smaller ones all looked pitiful.
"Very well, they don't like taking baths?"
"Yes...it's painful, but it's necessary every time. The chieftain can only help us stay trapped, but I'm the only one who can take a bath. Luckily, you're here now, otherwise it would probably take me a long time."
Every year, we bathe them at a fixed time so that we can remove their wool. We can't just remove it directly; the wool will fall off on its own after the bath, which is a good thing. But just like some cats don't like water, they are one of those little guys.
“Okay, I guessed it,” Dick raised an eyebrow, picking out the one that looked the least willing. “Shall we start here?”
"good!"
This is a blue-green lamb with soft, fluffy fur, almost like a marshmallow. It was trying to act pitiful, and then it tried to run away the next second. But Dick caught the little guy in one hand, and to the lamb's astonishment, it was lifted up and dragged away by Dick, unable to break free at all.
“Pfft, the chieftain is praising you too,” Enid said, looking only at the chieftain, not at the lamb. “The chieftain said she hadn’t had time to suppress it yet, but you caught it, and praised you as the strongest… two-legged creature.”
"I'd be honored. Would you like both of them together?"
As he spoke, Dick casually grabbed another blue-green lamb that was watching the show nearby; it happened to be the same color. Enid clapped her hands, then grabbed another blue-green lamb, hugged it to her chest, patted its head, and led Dick into the path hidden by the bushes next to the cave.
When the light blue light spots spread out, it was the clear pool of water in the very center of the petals, blooming quietly, somewhat like a fairy spring.
“The chieftain will forbid them from coming and going. I’ll suppress them. Brother, I’ll leave it to you to knead them! Three will make one bowl.” The work seemed to have become much easier. Dick gave an OK sign. He saw a lot of milky white liquid next to him, which was in flower-shaped bowls.
Dick casually took the bowl and poured the contents evenly over the three little ones, rubbing them from head to toe. Seeing their resigned and helpless expressions, he patted the lambs' heads with amusement, then put them into the pool. The fleece quickly became shiny, and when Dick scooped them out, he saw the wool fall off.
The wool floated to the other side and piled up under Enid's magic. That's how they washed all the lambs. One or two at a time was fine, but when they finally got to the most troublesome chieftain, Dick and Enid lay down wearily on the warm, blanket-like grass by the sun.
“Thank you for your hard work,” Enid rolled over to Dick and kissed his cheek. “The hardest part is done. Without you, it would have been really troublesome to wash them while preventing them from using magic.”
She didn't want to say that this was just her job and she shouldn't bother Dick, as that would seem too distant. So she simply leaned against Dick's chest, and the steady, strong beating of his heart seemed to say it all.
“This is fun, and I don’t think it’s strenuous at all,” Dick, who was in excellent physical condition, said earnestly. “I’d be happy to help you, you know that.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the crystal glass, blooming like a flower, landed smoothly beside her. Enid stood up slightly, holding the glass in one hand, and half-squatted down, reaching out with the other hand to help Radik stand up. A smile, as bright as the weather, graced her face.
"I know, so how about I treat you to apple milk tea?"
"good."
Dick reached out and took her hand, standing up smoothly without using her for leverage. But as he stood up, he probably "accidentally" lost his balance and pulled Inie into his arms. She blinked and looked up at him. Dick lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead.
"Let's go, Fia, but what work do we have left to do?"
"Let me think, there's also the task of recording the health status of the animals in each residential area. This is the last task. Some of them have wandered a bit too far, but Aura, Aura has already done the physical examination. Maybe we can borrow the unicorn's legs."
This was an offer Dick couldn't refuse. Seriously, who could refuse to ride a unicorn? Dick assured him that even Bruce couldn't, because he had seen Bruce secretly brushing Aura's fur, but he wasn't sure if Bruce had actually ridden in it. Enid probably knew, but she wouldn't tell him.
Incidentally, he had also seen Jason and Aura being intimate. Of course he knew, since no one can resist a unicorn.
After walking along a short path, she saw a milky green liquid growing in the middle of the lake, emitting an overly sweet aroma. Enid raised her glass, turned around, and her eyes were bright.
Can I add ice?
Just this once?
Dick would never forget Enid, who had stomach problems from drinking too much ice water and was rolling around in bed; she thought of that scene too.
"Okay... why can't Mother Goddess make my stomach as strong as my life?"
"Perhaps it's because even a strong life needs to take care of itself, right?"

I think it's quite sweet, and the apple milk green tea is really delicious.
