Chapter 83 Entrance Examination ② Entrance Examination Part Two, The End...
Chapter 83
Flowers bloomed beside the tombstone, and birds perched on it, singing sweet songs. Enid gently knelt down and placed the letter next to the tombstone. After pausing for a few seconds, she added an apple. Perhaps he didn't need it, but Enid felt that this was probably what Old Lady Mora wanted for him.
The apples and letters flickered, just like the ever-brightening sunlight in the sky. The mirror shattered at that moment, and they suddenly seemed to be banished from this place, returning to a gray world, where they were faced with the kind and approving gaze of the proctor.
“Excellent, Miss Grady, you are outstanding. The results will be sent to your designated address this afternoon.”
"Okay, thank you for your help, Professor."
After Enid politely thanked them, she left with Barbara and Tim. The location she specified was her mother's residence, which was also the location of the teleportation array. Only she could open it, and the letter was also delivered to this location. They needed to wait here until the letter was delivered before returning.
This was the first time she had brought anyone else to this place; in fact, Enid herself hadn't been here many times.
However, Enid was quite enthusiastic about showing everyone around, because since the internet was now available, those who couldn't come could also see it online and wait to share in Enid's joy at receiving the acceptance letter, as well as tour her house here, and perhaps give Afu some inspiration.
“Look, this is a really interesting thing. It keeps producing spring water. It has magic runes that condense and purify it, and it has the essence of a large elven spring as its core, so it has always been an essential product for beauty and skincare… But I haven’t used it yet.” As she spoke, Enid took out a bunch of interesting things and introduced them one by one, such as a mechanical bird used to deliver messages, and a mechanical maid that can make magic muffins and chocolate towers, and so on.
It doesn't really mean anything, but these were all her toys when she was little. Her mother confiscated them and put them here. She thought they had been thrown away... Enid smiled and told her where these things came from before putting them back.
“I thought Wayne Manor was big, and Bruce wouldn’t mind if you took it back,” Dick’s confident voice came. Enid stopped packing, and Bruce also gave a reassuring reply. However, after a while, he simply took out the spring water. “Let’s just take this back. We can share it with the sisters. Besides, if we want to eat muffins and chocolate tarts, we’ll have to trouble Alfred! Is that alright?”
Afu smiled gently and nodded in agreement: "Of course, I would be happy to make muffins and chocolate tarts for Miss Fia. It seems that afternoon tea is already prepared... However, I think it was a very wise decision for Miss Fia to bring this back, after all, it's not just the ladies, the gentlemen need it too, right?"
Everyone burst out laughing, and no one mentioned any other "toys" after that. And Enid did indeed only put away the "beauty spring water".
Before the letter even arrived, Enid started to get nervous. Dick noticed this; clearly, she had already described the garden twice. If it were a twin garden, that would be a different story, but unfortunately it wasn't. He smiled and reminded Enid.
"It looks like there's a twin garden here, but instead of the garden, could you zoom in on what this black thing next to it is?"
Enid noticed it too, and felt a little embarrassed. She saw that Barbara and Tim also looked innocent, puffing out their cheeks as they watched her make a mistake, and then backed down under Dick's gentle gaze. They could only zoom in on what Dick had said, and then they saw a pair of big, round eyes suddenly grow out of the black sphere, and a mouth... well, it was Naya.
"Meow—" Naya yawned lazily, then curled up into a ball and went back to sleep, looking like a black blob.
“It’s obviously the cat,” Damian glanced at Dick and continued confidently, “If Drake can’t get first place this time, I should be the one to go next time!”
He wanted to raise his hand to indicate that the exam was his, but Tim had already taken the lead. He looked up at Damian, smiled gently but his tone was firm and confident: "I could never lose." As soon as he finished speaking, Barbara crossed her arms and her tone became more playful.
“Good boys, and maybe don’t forget… Tim and I assisted Fia in this exam. So, he’s going to win.”
"Then I win, since I'm alone with her!"
Well, Damian had thought of that too, so his tone became even more cheerful. Just as Damian finished speaking, the notice was delivered. The messenger was a flower fairy who looked rather pitiful. After putting the letter down, she glanced at Enid apologetically and then noticed the small bottle of honey in Enid's palm.
"Here you go, thank you for your hard work, lovely flower fairy lady."
"Huh!!"
The flower fairy accepted the bottle with delight, then happily flew away, clutching the little bottle. Only after she left did Enid open the letter. Under everyone's gaze, she cleared her throat, deliberately trying to appear serious and speak in an unusually mature tone, but she forgot to hide her excitement.
"Congratulations, Ms. Enid Grady. You have passed the second entrance exam with the highest score in the entire school. With a combined score of E for both exams, you have been successfully admitted to the Witch Department of Oko University. Please assemble at the academy gate at 9:00 AM in two weeks. Your mentor is Alina Mora."
After speaking, Enid displayed the notice to everyone. The intricate gold calligraphy stood out against the overly beautiful paper. Even Barbara and Tim, who were nearby, could smell the perfume on the paper. Out of curiosity, they asked about it.
Enid wasn't quite sure of the exact price, but she gave a rough description of something comparable to perfume. She wasn't really sensitive to the specific monetary value, but after some consideration, she mentioned the prices of some equally precious medicinal herbs.
“This sounds more expensive than Clifton’s Royal Dignity I,” Tim joked about the perfume’s cost.
"Hmm...Eh?!" Enid looked at everyone, puzzled.
Barbara noticed Enid's confusion, so she smiled and explained to her the approximate cost of the perfume: "Converted to US dollars, this is $900,000 for 15ml of perfume." It's an extremely expensive luxury item, after all, there are very few perfumes that can sell for $90,000 per milliliter and are used to scent letter paper.
“Actually, I hadn’t noticed before. Come to think of it, it seems like a lot of them use it—the elemental spring water for bathing in potions, supposedly a sign of nobility.” Enid wrinkled her nose. “The elemental spring water tastes awful, let’s not talk about that! Let’s go home now! I can’t wait—”
"You're just eager to see Dick."
Tim chimed in, and the next second they saw Enid blush and hurriedly hang up. After hanging up, Enid picked up Naya, cleared her throat, and then, with a serious expression, indicated that she was getting ready to go home. Of course, they didn't continue teasing Enid, but obediently followed the arrangements to be teleported back to their world.
Upon exiting the teleportation array, Enid didn't see the helicopter that was supposed to be there, but rather... Dick. She saw Dick standing there with a smile on his face. For some reason, Enid's eyes suddenly reddened, and then she rushed over and hugged him tightly.
Dick caught Enid with ease, then instinctively nuzzled her cheek. The overwhelming softness in his arms abruptly melted away the weariness and longing he had felt recently. Enid, however, seemed oblivious to everything else. She kissed his lips, which were so close, and their breaths began to mingle unconsciously, thickening the air with their passionate embrace.
With a soft cough, Enid was released again, her cheeks flushing bright red, and she hid in Dick's arms, pretending that she hadn't done anything.
“Very good, so you really miss Dick,” Tim laughed.
“If you keep teasing Fia, she’ll probably teleport home right now,” Barbara added.
Enid jumped down from Dick's arms, glared at the two of them, Barbara smiled and surrendered, Tim shrugged to indicate that he hadn't said anything, then Enid nodded and took Dick's hand.
"Alright, let's go home. Where's the helicopter?"
“Here…” Jason said lazily from the helicopter. He had guessed this scene, which was why he didn’t get off. It turned out he was right. He just didn’t want to see Dick and Enid kissing. The power down there was enough; they didn’t need him.
Enid was pleased to see Jason arrive, but after boarding the helicopter, she discovered another surprise – Bruce.
Bruce was there too, of course, but the others had other commitments and would be late. Bruce himself had only managed to squeeze in a quick hug, as he had other things to attend to afterward, and he even apologized to Enid for it. Enid simply hugged her father happily, then gave Jason a hug as well. Alfred was flying the plane and couldn't hug her, but he would do so after they disembarked.
"Father, I'm already so happy that you came, or rather, I'm overwhelmed with joy! Actually, I would have been happy even if you hadn't come, since I would have gone home anyway in the evening, and everyone has already shared in my happiness."
Enid didn't feel disappointed or sad, because the communication she had just received was enough for her to feel everyone's blessings for her. After all, the enthusiastic applause and the blessings, whether straightforward or awkward, had all reached her heart, which was already a super perfect celebration.
"I'm satisfied with that. You're so easy to please... Alright, tell me what you want. I'll consider it and consider it a gift."
"I also have a gift for you, but unfortunately I can't choose mine myself, I'll give it to you later."
After Jason finished speaking with his arms crossed, Dick followed closely behind. Enid thought for a moment. Actually, she didn't really want anything, but if she had to decide, she suddenly thought of something. "How about Jay... you help me beat the highest difficulty level ○○●●? Remember to use my account! But, Barbara and Timmy, too... um! Oh right, I'll deliver your gifts!"
Barbara and Tim didn't seem to want anything, so they declined, saying they'd just bring them some Saint Lin specialties next time. As for Dick's gift, he said he'd give it to Enid separately that evening. So, all that remained was Jason watching Enid's pitiful gaze.
"Huh? Okay." Jason was a little speechless, but he still agreed.
Bruce, who was a little tired, couldn't help but laugh as he listened to the children playing.

○○●●: I'm too lazy to come up with a game name, but it's basically the kind of game that's really troublesome and frustrating, like you're going to die, but it's also really good... the kind that tests your reflexes. The highest difficulty is something to brag about once you beat it, but so far only a few people have beaten it (hahaha).
