Chapter 180 Extra 4
On Saturday morning, the clatter of pots and pans and the flushing of the toilet echoed outside the door. Qin Tian rolled over, trying to banish the annoying noise, but more of the typical morning sounds wafted through. She half-opened her eyes for a moment, adjusting, before remembering that this was her bedroom. It had only been two weeks, and yet her room felt a little unfamiliar.
She recalled the previous events and remembered that last night was the weekend. After Qin Yunjie went to bed early, she went to Tong Zhongyuan's house to put on the projector to watch "Love Actually." To be honest, she really had no interest in such an old-fashioned romance film. Besides, it was summer now, so watching an old Christmas movie seemed a bit out of place.
Tong Zhongyuan said, "Do you still remember the Morse code I typed to you across the building?"
How could she not remember? At that time, she just wanted to block out all his hints and wished he would never speak again.
He said: "I typed 'Love is all around'. But you ignored me."
She pinched his face and asked, "I'm not paying any attention to you, why are you still coming up to me?"
"What do you think?"
Just like "Interstellar" they watched last weekend, they didn't finish watching this movie.
The light of the projector flickered, and the melody of "Love is all around" rose and fell in the night.
Tong Zhongyuan moved behind her like the rhythm of the ocean waves, leaning over and panting in her ear, "Watch it with me during Christmas..."
She vaguely thought in her swaying dizziness that by Christmas they should be able to watch a complete movie.
The movie finished playing on its own, and after the subtitles appeared, the room was left in darkness.
Qin Tian propped himself up from his arms and touched his phone.
"I'd better go back to bed. I took a shower for nothing and need to change my clothes."
"Yeah, that's fine." He kissed her forehead and said, "I'll take you upstairs."
She was secretly surprised. This was the first time he had spoken in two weeks. She was afraid that if she said anything more, he would regret it.
The sunlight filtered through the light blue curtains, outlining the contours of the furniture. She stayed in bed for a while, and the noise outside the door grew louder.
Auntie's smiling voice came: "She's still sleeping... wait until she wakes up..."
She suddenly jumped out of bed, ran over barefoot, and opened the door. Tong Zhongyuan raised his head and looked over. He was wearing a well-tailored suit and holding a bouquet of roses.
Qin Tian remained standing there, and only after a moment's pause did he let go of the door handle.
No, he wasn't the type to be so tactful. He would never have gone to her house on an ordinary weekend morning after only two weeks of dating and proposed to her without warning, even though she had just gotten out of bed and her hair was a mess.
But... we agreed to go to Disney together today, what does it mean that he is dressed like this!
Tong Zhongyuan put the bouquet on the coffee table, walked over, held her face and kissed her.
"Go wash your face quickly, have breakfast and leave early. Grave sweeping is usually done in the morning, right?"
"Grave sweeping?"
"Well, my mother's grave is not far from Disneyland."
Qin Tian understood: "So you're going to meet my mom dressed like this? Aren't you hot in the summer?"
"I rented a car, so it's more convenient for me to travel. I'll change into casual clothes after I finish visiting the graves."
Qin Tian opened his mouth, but found nothing to complain about. He always did things perfectly. She casually put her hair up and walked to the bathroom.
"You should have said so earlier. I didn't say you couldn't go to visit the graves. Why rent a car? Tang Zhixu is in Beijing recently, so you can just drive his."
When she came out after brushing her teeth and washing her face, Tong Zhongyuan had already packed up her breakfast. She just opened the paper bag to eat a piece of the sauce-flavored pancake, but Tong Zhongyuan took the whole bag away.
"Go change your clothes and have breakfast on the way." He said without emotion.
She clicked her tongue helplessly. Tong Zhongyuan was particularly fond of cleanliness and couldn't bear to see her use the hands that had grabbed the cake to change clothes.
After her previous failed trip to Disneyland, she put a little thought into choosing a light yellow dress with a fitted waist and off-the-shoulder design, and applied some light makeup. She looked in the mirror and realized she looked stunning.
She opened the door complacently, tiptoed on one foot, and made a stunning appearance in what she thought was a graceful posture.
"Oh! Xiao Qin, you look so beautiful today!" Aunt's surprised voice sounded.
Qin Yunjie was a little confused today, but he looked at her with a smile, and seemed to be in a good mood.
Qin Tian cast an expectant look at Tong Zhongyuan. Let the praise come too strongly! Tong Zhongyuan was indeed looking at her. When he met her gaze, he turned his head away and said to Qin Yunjie, "Uncle Qin, Yi Zhang and I are going out to play. I will send her back in the evening."
Qin Yunjie was still smiling and looked very happy.
Tong Zhongyuan picked up the bouquet from the coffee table, opened the door, and then pulled Qin Tian.
"let's go."
When they got downstairs, Tong Zhongyuan got into the driver's seat.
"Would you like to drive?" Qin Tian asked him.
"Um."
He put the breakfast on the central control and turned on the navigation.
Qin Tian got into the passenger seat, surveying his rental car while picking up breakfast. Tong Zhongyuan started the car and noticed from the corner of his eye that she had placed several napkins on her skirt, fearing the food would stain it. Her hair was curled, falling in a charming curve across her chest. She looked truly stunning today, yet he was so stingy as to not even offer a word of praise.
He knew that without Tang Zhixu, he would still be feeling sorry for himself in London. He was grateful to him and even thought they could become good friends. But he still didn't like hearing his name from Qin Tian's mouth. Qin Tian had lied to him about Tang Zhixu in order to get him back to London. But at the same time, he knew clearly that it wasn't a complete lie. Qin Tian had liked Tang Zhixu for far longer than he had liked him. For them, such a misplaced relationship that lasted for eight years without a conclusion was regrettable.
No one can change time. What he owns is her future. One day, their love will last longer than eight years, eighteen years, twenty-eight years...
Han Wenying's cemetery is not far from Dishui Lake, close to the sea.
As the sea breeze blew, Tong Zhongyuan placed a bouquet of roses in front of the grave. A photo of her smiling gently blossomed in the fragrance of the roses.
"Mom, this is Tong Zhongyuan. Do you still remember him? He's the brother Zhongyuan I mentioned when we were little."
Qin Tian was not very used to talking to a tombstone, but she wanted to introduce Tong Zhongyuan to her mother.
"Isn't he handsome? He..." She scratched her head, "He's my boyfriend now."
After she said this, she couldn't think of anything else to say. Turning to Tong Zhongyuan, she said, "Well, I just told her about Chun Jun's tomb a while ago. There's nothing else to say. You, do you want to say hello? After that, we'll leave."
He smiled and took her hand, interlocked their fingers, and stood side by side in front of Han Wenying's grave.
"Auntie, my name is Tong Zhongyuan. I work in cultural relic restoration. I can cook, I pay attention to hygiene, I don't smoke, I don't have bad habits, and I'm responsible. My parents are both alive and they are reasonable people. I have carefully considered getting together with Yi Zhang. I cherish her, respect her, and appreciate her. In the years to come, we will respect and love each other and spend our lives together. We will face wealth and poverty, health and illness together. I hope to have your approval and blessing."
She lowered her head, not wanting to cry. The days when she wanted to cry were over. She was just feeling hot in her eyes. Because the one she loved, even if they were just holding hands, her love would spread from her fingertips to every corner of her body.
