Chapter 181 Extra 5
This was Qin Tian's fourth visit to Disneyland. The most recent one was six months ago, when she and Tong Zhongyuan had a disagreement. She'd been there once before, along with Song Suiyang and Tang Zhixu, several years before. They'd agreed to go together as a group, but when they met at the entrance, they discovered Song Suiyang had brought her boyfriend.
Qin Tian didn't know what to say. As they played, it naturally turned into a pair of her and Tang Zhixu. Tang Zhixu liked the few exciting rides in Disney. At that time, he dragged her to ride the Speed Light Cycle. Qin Tian looked up and saw a train of Light Cycles whizzing by. The screams scared her so much that her legs went weak and she refused to ride. Tang Zhixu went to ride it by himself and said that except for the speed limit, everything else was good. After that, he wanted to ride the Hugo Dragon Sky Racer. Qin Tian took a look and thought, isn't this just an enhanced version of the pirate ship? She was most afraid of weightlessness and refused to ride it. Tang Zhixu said that since she was here, she didn't want to play this or that, so she might as well go ride Dumbo. She also felt that she was a bit of a spoiler, so she had to bite the bullet and go with him on the Hugo Dragon. As a result, after that trip, her stomach was churning, her blood tank was empty, she couldn't eat, and she had no energy to play other things. Tang Zhixu then regretted for forcing her.
He disappeared for a while and came back with the largest size Lingna Belle and placed it in her arms.
She didn't like stuffed animals, but when she touched its pink fur, her heart softened. Later, when she got home, she put it in the cupboard. She didn't need softness; she just wanted strength.
Amidst the futuristic BGM, the high-speed light wheel roared past again.
Tong Zhongyuan looked up at the array of light wheels and asked her, "Do you want to play?"
She shook her head: "I don't like exciting activities."
"Let's go then. The Buzz Lightyear one shouldn't be that exciting."
"Buzz Lightyear is very childish. You can go play the Lightcycle Speedster by yourself. I'll wait for you here. I heard it's very fun and boys like it."
He turned his eyes away and said calmly, "I don't like it." He took her hand and left Tomorrowland.
The person who had come to Disneyland with her was indeed a boy. Who else could the boy beside her be other than Tang Zhixu?
After that, he never suggested any exciting activities, just watching shows, playing some mild activities, and shopping.
In the evening, Tong Zhongyuan reserved the VIP area for the fireworks show as usual.
Huge fireworks lit up the night sky above Disneyland with passionate music. Tong Zhongyuan lowered his head and kissed her under the fireworks.
The memory that once made him regret deeply, the scene of abandoning her under the fireworks, was now slightly covered by new memories.
It was late at night. After helping Qin Yunjie wash up, Auntie watched a short play and went to bed. Lately, since Xiao Qin didn't come home to stay at night, she didn't have to leave the door open. But tonight, she vaguely heard voices and the sound of rummaging through drawers.
"Tong Zhongyuan, why are you so childish?"
Qin Tian stood with his hands behind his back, watching in silence as he grabbed Lingna Belle's tail and dragged her out of the cabinet.
"This is not childish. This is a legitimate request."
He picked up the Disney shopping bag and filled it up.
After the fireworks show, Tong Zhongyuan suggested going to the store to buy some souvenirs. Qin Tian wandered around and, inspired by the atmosphere, bought a Lingna Belle blanket. Seeing that she liked the pink fox, Tong Zhongyuan brought her the largest Lingna Belle size.
Qin Tian didn't think much about it and said casually, "I already have this."
Tong Zhongyuan said, "Why haven't I seen him at home?"
"In the cupboard. Leaving it outside would get dusty."
Tong Zhongyuan put the fox back in his hand and suddenly asked for no apparent reason, "Did you buy it yourself?"
"I won't buy it if it's not cost-effective. It was given to me by someone else," she replied.
Well, that was all. He started to get awkward. He didn't make any noise at first, and looked no different than usual. Then, when we got home and took the elevator, he said, "Let's donate that fox."
She didn't react: "Fox? Lingna Belle? Donate to who?"
“Donate to the children in the mountainous areas.”
She was speechless. Who would donate Lingna Belle to the mountainous area? Even if they did, it would only be books and clothes. Besides, the mountainous areas were not what he imagined. Many places had already escaped poverty.
When she finished, he said, "Then give it to a friend who likes it."
"No," she held her forehead, "it's just a toy. It's been in the closet for years. Who is it bothering?"
It's getting in my way, he thought. Disneyland isn't a good place. He'll never come again. Everything else is fine. Even though he feels uncomfortable with the portraits he gave her, he can't say anything. Only stuffed animals, like a clone, represent companionship and hugs. Besides, they're not precious things, so why can't he just get rid of them?
"Then give it to me. I want it," he said.
The result was that she opened the door and came in, and he followed her in. She knew that if Lingna Belle fell into his hands, her end would be the trash can. She was not reluctant to part with Tang Zhixu's gift, but she was reluctant to see this poor little pink fox suffer so miserably.
"Okay, okay, I'll give it away." She took the bag containing the fox and put it aside. "I'll give it away on Monday."
She kept her word and brought the little fox to the museum on Monday to give to Fang Molin's daughter. She wanted to give it to Song Suiyang, but if Tang Zhixu knew about it, he would be a little disappointed.
She knew that Tong Zhongyuan didn't mind Tang Zhixu because she had loved him, but because she had hurt him with Tang Zhixu. Such scars could only be healed slowly with time.
This thought ended at two o'clock in the afternoon.
Tong Zhongyuan didn't come to work at the museum today, saying he had some studio work to attend to. Qin Tian was afraid he'd be too busy to eat, so he ordered him some takeout at noon.
At 2:05 p.m., her phone rang with a spending reminder.
She stared at it for more than ten seconds, then counted zeros in disbelief.
Tong Zhongyuan called.
"Don't worry, it's not a fraudulent purchase, it was made by me."
Qin Tian gasped. If it was a fraudulent transaction, she could still file a complaint with the bank and get the money back. Regarding this single transaction, she was starting to have a premonition.
"What did you buy?"
"car."
Qin Tian wanted to say something, but she found herself speechless. Although Tong Zhongyuan had used her card, the money was his own. Tong Zhongyuan had made a foreign exchange declaration before coming to China, and it was last Friday that a large sum of money was deposited into her card.
Tong Zhongyuan surveyed the car before him. He had no other requirements except a ready-made car, a showroom model, simply for transportation. He didn't want to waste time and didn't discuss it with Qin Tian. Furthermore, the amount of foreign currency he was transferring wasn't large. Time was tight, and this was the maximum he could transfer. If he wanted to transfer the assets later, he would have to prove they were direct relatives. Then he could carefully choose a car she liked.
Qin Tian thought for a long time and even swallowed the words "Why don't you discuss it with me?"
She knew all his reasons. She took out the car keys from her bag, the keys that had been with her for four years. When Tang Zhixu came back, it was time to return them to their rightful owner.
Three months ago, Qin Tian had an extra job: every Thursday he would give lectures as a visiting professor at F University, the Shanghai Museum's counterpart.
When Tong Zhongyuan found out, he said he wanted to attend her class, but Qin Tian righteously refused him.
She was alone, and teaching a class in front of a large group of students was already a heavy burden. The thought of Tong Zhongyuan being there was enough to make her scratch her toes. Seeing her determination, Tong Zhongyuan didn't force her.
Last week, she even skipped classes because of Tong Zhongyuan, and he kept her from preparing for class. Luckily, this week's topic was the relationship between thermoluminescence and the age of cultural relics. She had written two papers on this topic, so she had plenty of material to work with, which was more than enough for her daily work.
She was originally scheduled to attend the class in a regular classroom that could accommodate no more than 50 people. However, many students who were not majoring in cultural heritage also registered to audit the class, so the class was moved to a lecture hall.
Compared to her first time attending class, she was no longer as nervous. As long as she ignored the young faces in front of her and focused on her lessons, she could handle it.
The afternoon sun slanted through the glass windows, casting a spot of light on the podium. Qin Tian walked into the classroom and just put the lesson plan on the podium when she found a cup of coffee on the table. She thought it was left by the previous professor or a student. Then she looked again and saw a sky blue sticky note stuck to the cup. A line of clear and powerful words read:
Good afternoon, senior sister, low-calorie cappuccino ^_^
