Shangqiu Zhu's footsteps disappeared at the bottom of the stairs, leaving Yan Shuang alone leaning against the cold wall.
She took a few deep breaths of the cool night air, composed herself, and then walked back into the living room.
Only the parents and the older sister remained in the living room. Shangqiu Zhu had already left.
She heard Yan You's voice, trembling with tears:
"Why won't you let me go? I'm his fiancée!"
Yan Shuang looked up and saw Yan You holding her father's arm. Her eye makeup was a little smudged, and her mascara had smudged into a faint black color under her eyes.

Yan Shuang paused.
Shangqiu Zhu agreed? How could that be?
She had never been involved in American business, and the core documents were never even her responsibility.
Was the decision made during our conversation in the living room? Or was it a spur-of-the-moment idea on the terrace?
"This isn't fair!" Yan You suddenly screamed, grabbing a cushion and throwing it at Yan Shuang. "Why you? I'm his fiancée! Did you seduce him behind my back?"
The soft cushion landed on Yan Shuang's shoulder, not painful, but the humiliation burned fiercely on her cheeks like fire.
Looking at her sister's reaction, Yan Shuang felt a chilling sarcasm welling up inside her.
She didn't want to go at all, didn't want to get involved in their mess, and didn't want to face Shangqiu Zhu.
I just want to get far away from all of this.
Looking at her sister, who seemed to be going crazy, she finally couldn't help but say, "Since you're so unhappy, why don't you go in my place?"
"You!" Yan You stomped her foot angrily. "Mom and Dad! What kind of attitude is this?!"

Yan You was so angry that she trembled all over, but her parents held her down tightly, so she could only glare at Yan Shuang resentfully.
