Fu Yuanshan was no longer so sure about underestimating Yun Tangyin.
Having dealt with many people, he could at least sense that Yun Tangyin had a backup plan.
After Fu Yuanshan finished his toast, he didn't dare say anything more. Instead, he quietly stepped aside and went to toast other places with Jiang Jianhua.
Jiang Jianhua frowned as he watched him pull her away, asking, "What are you doing? Why are you avoiding her?"
Fu Yuanshan drank the wine in his glass. Seeing that no one was paying attention to him and that Yun Tangyin and Fu Yucheng had gone to toast elsewhere, he lowered his voice.
"You brought your account books?"
Upon hearing Fu Yuanshan's question, Jiang Jianhua looked around furtively, as if he had done something wrong: "I brought it, so what?"
After today, the ledger will be handed over to Yun Tangyin.
Although the accounts had been balanced under Fu Yuanshan's guidance, for some reason, he still felt uneasy looking at Yun Tangyin's appearance.
Fu Yuanshan licked his cheek and frowned: "Give it to her later, take it to Mom first."
Jiang Jianhua was taken aback: "Why?"
Fu Yuanshan's brows remained furrowed: "Listen to me!"
Seeing Fu Yuanshan's attitude, Jiang Jianhua could only nod. Although he didn't know what Fu Yuanshan wanted to do, since he had given the order, he would do it.
Yun Tangyin wasn't unaware that the couple was whispering to each other, and she smiled.
It seems some people are about to lose their temper today.
The wedding process was simple in those days, but because so many people came, it still seemed very grand and lively.
After Yun Tangyin saw all the guests off, she began to count the gifts that were piled up like a small mountain.
Fortunately, Fu Yucheng has long arms and legs, and he moved everything into their new home in no time.
That home, which was gradually perfected under Yun Tangyin's personal arrangement.
Now that there were no other guests around and only the two of them were alone, Fu Yucheng's ears were visibly red.
He placed the gifts in the living room, seemingly very busy, but his eyes unconsciously drifted towards Yun Tangyin.
Yun Tangyin was too busy searching for the radio that Jiang Jianhua had given her among the pile of gifts to appreciate the good looks.
Finally, I found it in a corner.
The honest-looking radio was quite large, with a red bow tied to its handle; it was clearly a wedding gift.
Yun Tangyin took it out separately and placed it on the coffee table.
Fu Yucheng looked at Yun Tangyin: "What's wrong?"
Yun Tangyin lowered her eyes and simply smiled: "It's alright, I'll take it back to my second sister-in-law tomorrow."
Fu Yucheng raised an eyebrow. Although he didn't understand why, he respected Yun Tangyin's decision unconditionally.
Seeing his expression, Yun Tangyin smiled and said, "Don't worry, it's alright. She's been running around for so long for our wedding. Accepting it on the wedding day is a token of her goodwill. We can't just take it; what would that look like?"
That's what she said, but what Yun Tangyin really thought was that if it weren't for the fact that there were other tricks up her sleeve, she wouldn't have been polite to these two.
But it didn't matter; she didn't care about these things.
Looking at Yun Tangyin's gentle and considerate demeanor, Fu Yucheng felt an indescribable sense of gratitude.
His eyes were filled with burning love. He took Yun Tangyin's hand and pulled her directly into his arms.
Fu Yucheng hugged Yun Tangyin, placing his hands on her back: "Yinyin... in front of me, you don't have to be a good wife and mother. You can always be yourself."
Even if she's a pampered rich girl.
He was willing to spoil her.
Fu Yucheng pressed his chin against Yun Tangyin's forehead and gently rubbed it. This single action revealed his deep affection and tenderness for Yun Tangyin.
Yun Tangyin was held in his arms, her nose brushing against the red silk on his chest, and she couldn't help but laugh out loud: "I am who I am."
She raised her hand and patted Fu Yucheng's back, "Loosen up a bit, you're squeezing me so tight I can't breathe."
Fu Yucheng immediately loosened his grip, but didn't let go completely, his fingertips gently stroking her back: "Is there something wrong with that radio?"
He had noticed something was off about her eyes when she was looking through the items; it didn't seem like she was looking at ordinary gifts.
"We'll know if there's a problem once we open it up." Yun Tangyin tapped the radio casing with her fingertip. "Second sister-in-law is always very practical when it comes to gifts, but this time she chose the one that takes up the most space."
Fu Yucheng frowned slightly: "Do you want me to open it now?"
"No rush." Yun Tangyin turned around and looked up at him, poking his reddened earlobe with her fingertip. "Let's take a look at the quilt Mom sent. I saw Mom picking it out at the supply and marketing cooperative for a long time this morning."
Fu Yucheng grabbed her mischievous fingers and held them in his palm, his fingertips brushing against her knuckles, and continued to press, "You knew all along that they would pull some tricks?"
He recalled how Fu Yuanshan had pulled Jiang Jianhua away earlier, and his heart sank.
“The ledger.” Yun Tangyin curled her fingertips and hooked them around his finger. “I still haven’t received it. Fu Yuanshan has probably searched through the entire ledger, but I haven’t seen it at all.”
Fu Yucheng's Adam's apple bobbed: "Should I ask my older brother?"
"No need." Yun Tangyin shook her head, her gaze falling on the red quilt spread on the bed.
No sooner had he finished speaking than footsteps sounded outside the courtyard gate, accompanied by Jiang Jianhua's deliberately raised voice: "Is your sister-in-law asleep?"
Fu Yucheng glanced at Yun Tangyin, seeing the understanding in her eyes, and then turned to open the door.
As expected, Jiang Jianhua stood at the door carrying a cloth bag, with Fu Yuanshan following behind him.
"Second sister-in-law, what brings you here?" Yun Tangyin picked up the enamel mug on the table, her eyes and brows carrying a knowing smile: "I just made some hawthorn water, would you like some?"
Jiang Jianhua avoided looking at her: "I came to tell you about the radio. It seems there's something wrong with it. I was afraid you'd misunderstand, so I came to fix it."
Fu Yuanshan leaned against the door frame, his gaze sweeping over the radio on the coffee table: "Mom said to leave the account book with her for now, and she'll give it to you in a couple of days."
Yun Tangyin stirred the hawthorn slices in her cup and laughed: "Mom is right. Anyway, I just got married and there are many things I don't understand yet. I can't take this radio apart myself. Since you're here, you can take it apart."
She looked up at Jiang Jianhua and said, "Second sister-in-law, I saw you put the account book in your bag when you were receiving the gifts. Why didn't you give it to Mom?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Jianhua, already feeling guilty, trembled, and the cloth bag slipped to the ground, revealing a screwdriver and several ledgers inside.
Fu Yuanshan's expression changed drastically, and he cursed Jiang Jianhua inwardly for being useless.
Before she could say a few words, Yun Tangyin interrupted, "Since you brought it, why don't you let us see it now? Fu Yucheng is here too, so Mom won't have to make a trip to get it for us tomorrow."
Fu Yucheng placed a chair in each hand: "Second brother, second sister-in-law, please sit down."
He deliberately pushed the chair closer to the ledger and looked calmly at Fu Yuanshan.
Fu Yuanshan gripped the doorframe tightly with his fingertips, his throat tightening: "It's late, and the account book... I won't bring it to disturb your wedding night."
