"Sister-in-law, please wait a moment."
Jiang Si was already a little embarrassed, but seeing Hu Meili go back with a pregnant belly and still have to cook for them, she felt even more guilty.
"A-Zhou, you take Uncle San and the others back to their rooms to settle in first. I'll go help my sister-in-law with some chores."
After saying that, Jiang Si went back to her room and took out the gift she had prepared.
Seeing that she was carrying two schoolbags, Hu Meili was genuinely unhappy.
"No, Si-mei, what are you doing? I just invited you to my house for a meal, why are you..."
Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Si took his arm.
Once outside the courtyard, Jiang Si said directly, "Sister-in-law, this gift is for Wei Dong and Wei Min."
"That won't work either."
"Why isn't it working?"
Jiang Si's ability to present facts and reason is something most people can't handle, and she immediately spoke up.
“Sister-in-law, we didn’t have a banquet when we got married, but I accepted all the gifts you and Sister-in-law Mingjuan gave me without saying a word of refusal.”
"If you don't accept this, then I'll take back what you gave me and return it to you right now."
Hu Meili panicked when she heard this, "You... how can you be like this?"
If she were to take back something she'd already given away, what kind of person would she be?
Jiang Si didn't care. She pressed her advantage and said, "When we were on a mission recently, Brother Xiao helped my husband a lot. We remember those favors."
"Putting everything else aside, the tomato sauce and pickled vegetables at home, which of these doesn't take a lot of effort?"
After a pause, Jiang Si added, "In a couple of days, Third Uncle and the others want to go to the nearby fishing villages to see if there are any suitable houses."
"I'm not familiar with this area, so I might need your help later."
"If you don't accept it, I'll never dare to contact you again."
Hu Meili looked puzzled. "Isn't your house big enough? Why do you still need to rent a place?"
This matter cannot be explained in just a few words, so Jiang Si gave a brief overview.
Hu Meili immediately understood after hearing this, "Living outside does offer more freedom. Anyway, it's not that far away, and I can come over anytime I want."
After thinking for a moment, he added, "You don't need to worry about the house. I'll go with you to visit the nearby fishing village this weekend."
Jiang Si smiled and said okay, then handed the things over.
Seeing this, Hu Meili sighed helplessly; those two backpacks clearly weren't cheap.
"You should keep this backpack for yourself; you can give it to your child later."
When the topic of children came up, Hu Meili subconsciously looked at Jiang Si's belly.
The couple has been married for several months now.
Who knows, she might already be pregnant by now.
Then she'll have company during her postpartum period, right?
Just the two of them, Hu Meili asked quickly, "Any good news yet?"
Jiang Si paused for a moment, then asked, "Sister-in-law, do you mean the child?"
Hu Meili nodded repeatedly. She had no intention of pressuring anyone to have a child; she was just curious.
If it weren't for Commander Huo's age, she would have advised Jiang Si, as someone with experience, to postpone having children for two years.
As for herself, Chun Chun was an accident.
She and her husband, Lao Xiao, have been married for so many years, and they've only used protection three times, resulting in pregnancy all three times.
Jiang Si shook her head: "Not yet."
Upon hearing this, Hu Meili blinked and looked over with an incredulous expression.
Perhaps the shock in her eyes was too obvious, Jiang Si said with a smile.
"We've been so busy before that we felt it wasn't the right time to have a child, but now we're going to let nature take its course."
So that's how it is.
Hu Meili said that even her husband, Lao Xiao, admitted that he was someone she couldn't compare to, so having a child should be as easy as drinking water for him.
Seeing that she was planning to have a child, Hu Meili stopped hiding it.
After arriving home, she first poured Jiang Si a glass of warm water.
Then I sat down opposite her.
Seeing Hu Meili's posture, Jiang Si knew that she had something to say.
"Sister-in-law, go ahead and tell me," Jiang Si said, looking on with a serious expression.
Hu Meili is ruthless and doesn't talk much. She started with zero frames and said, "Sister-in-law will teach you a few positions. Try them out when you get home tonight."
"Cough cough cough... cough..." Jiang Si almost choked to death when she wasn't paying attention.
Her face turned red.
Hu Meili was startled and quickly patted her back, "Si Meizi, are you alright?"
Jiang Si's face was burning hot. "It's nothing, it's nothing."
My sister-in-law was driving too fast, and she couldn't keep up.
Seeing her flushed face, Hu Meili smiled and said, "Alright, alright, I won't say anymore. Just remember one thing from your sister-in-law: no matter what position you're in, hold on tight for the last time, and I guarantee you'll hit the mark every time."
Just as Jiang Si was awkwardly wondering what to say, a shout came from outside the door.
"mom--"
"Mom, something terrible has happened—"
Hearing the two brothers urgently calling for their mother, Hu Meili's blood pressure couldn't help but rise rapidly.
Her only thought right now is that the baby in her belly absolutely must be a girl.
Three sons are such a burden to their mother!
"You're all yelling and shouting all day long. I'd have a heart attack from your constant scare even if I'm not sick."
Remembering the doctor's instructions, Hu Meili took a deep breath and quickly recited a few words to herself.
"This is my own child!"
They're still young!
"Don't stoop to their level!"
Before the three sentences were even finished, the two little ones had already rushed in.
Seeing Jiang Si sitting in the living room, the two brothers' eyes lit up, and they greeted her cheerfully, "Hello, Auntie."
