Chapter 21 Sister Xu and her "boyfriend"
"Oh?" Xiang Yun didn't say anything after receiving this ambiguous answer, but just curled his lips.
"Just finished a flight mission?" Xu Songning changed the subject.
"Yes, I flew back from Fuzhou, but unfortunately I didn't enter your sector. I circled for half an hour before landing," Xiang Yun replied.
“I’m very busy today. Even if you’re in my sector, you’ll have to circle around for half an hour. With the return-to-work rush these past few days, the sky is full of planes. My throat is practically burning from directing them.” Xu Songning said softly. Her voice did sound a little hoarse, and there was a faint dark circle under her eyes, indicating that she hadn’t had enough rest.
Xiang Yun picked up the coffee and gestured for her to look, "Then why are you still drinking coffee? Have something to soothe your throat."
“Underground… cough! Director Liu took money from his secret stash to buy us honey to make water. This is for my colleagues. He plans to take his annual leave next month, so my colleagues’ workload will increase,” Xu Songning said.
Xiang Yun suddenly laughed, "You guys call Director Liu 'Mediterranean' because of his hairstyle?"
"You know that too?" Xu Songning smiled.
"The organic leader mentioned it in the group, and I remembered it."
"Don't laugh at our Director Liu, I heard that pilots can go bald as they get older, maybe he'll end up with a receding hairline." Xu Songning said, his eyes involuntarily turning to examine Xiang Yun's hair volume.
Xiang Yun noticed her gaze, tossed his hair, and said, "I don't think so, do I?"
"Judging by your thick hair, it shouldn't be," Xu Songning said with a smile.
The last time I saw Xiang Yun after he took a shower, his hair was wet and limp, making him look younger than his age. But during the flight, his hair was styled and sprayed with hairspray, exuding the charm of a mature man.
The two joked around and soon arrived at the air traffic control building. Bright red Spring Festival couplets were still hanging on the door. These couplets, unique to their air traffic control department, were written by Director Liu himself.
First line: The control tower commands the arrival of spring with immense force.
The second line reads: A silver eagle soars ten thousand meters, bringing good news.
Horizontal scroll: Safe take-off and landing
Xiang Yun was immediately drawn to the red Spring Festival couplets.
“Isn’t it interesting that our Director Liu wrote it? He writes something different every year.” Xu Songning raised his chin.
"Extremely talented," Xiang Yun said with a smile.
The door opened, and two colleagues came out. They greeted Xu Songning, "Hey! Sister Xu, here to hand over the shift?"
"Yes, I bought you coffee. Take it upstairs." Xu Songning handed it to one of them and took out a cup from it.
Xiang Yun also stepped forward and handed the coffee to another person. The two looked at the flight case at Xu Songning's feet and Xiang Yun standing to the side, let out a long "Oh~", and looked at the two of them ambiguously.
Xu Songning raised her hand and flicked a younger boy on the head, saying, "Stop staring, hurry up and divide it up."
"Yes!" The little boy obeyed, grabbed the coffee, and ran off.
"Slow down! Don't fall," Xu Songning reminded him.
Xiang Yun shook his hand. The coffee wasn't heavy, but the thin rope had made his palms red and a little numb.
"Are you handing over your shift? Go ahead and get busy." Xiang Yun pulled over his flight case, dressed in a full flight uniform. Standing there, tall and imposing, he looked like an airline promotional photo.
Following the principle that it would be a loss not to look at something that's been given away for free, Xu Songning looked at it for a few more seconds before handing him the coffee, saying, "Thank you for today, Brother Yun. Here, have a cup of coffee."
"You're welcome." Xiang Yun accepted the coffee, and the two said goodbye. He pulled his flight case away, and his straight and tall figure was quite captivating.
Xu Songning withdrew his gaze and glanced upstairs, only to see two furry heads quickly retracting.
Xu Songning accepted the stares without flinching, returned to the storage room, put his phone and personal belongings into his locker, picked up his earphones, and headed towards the radar room.
I ran into a colleague on her way home from get off work. I waved the coffee in my hand at her and winked, saying, "Thanks for the coffee, Sister Xu's boyfriend!"
"Boyfriend?" Xu Songning choked.
"Oh dear, we all know! Sister Wang's apprentice told us that you two treated your colleagues to coffee." The man chuckled.
Xu Songning sighed, "We're really not boyfriend and girlfriend, we just bumped into each other while passing by and he was helping me with this."
"You mean, you just got off the plane, haven't even changed out of your uniform, and haven't even put your flight bag down, and you're already here to get me coffee?"
"I..." Why does that sound so ambiguous?
"In short, it's not what he said at all. I'm going to find him and settle the score right now."
Xu Songjing quietly entered the lounge. Sister Wang's apprentice was that young man. The old fox had already run away, and the young man was still helping to serve coffee.
"Master! Come quick, it's time for coffee!" the young man called out enthusiastically to his new master, Sister Wang, who had just taken over the shift.
Sister Wang rubbed her neck, her eyes lighting up. "I was wondering why I could smell coffee from so far away. Who's treating?"
"Sister Xu and her boyfriend are treating us!" the young man chuckled, completely unaware that one of the main characters he was talking about was standing right at the door.
"Huh?" Sister Wang looked at Xu Songning. "Songning, you have a boyfriend? Oh my, congratulations! Who is he? Is he from our airport? Do I know him? Our airport's little flower has finally met spring. Look, even the weather is getting better."
The young man's expression froze, and he slowly turned around, only to see Xu Songning with a fake smile on his face.
"Sister Wang, I just found out I have a boyfriend." Xu Songning walked over, picked up a cup of coffee to open it, but then remembered her throat and thought, "Never mind, I'll just have some honey water."
"Apprentice, what's going on?" Sister Wang asked in surprise.
"A captain just came with Sister Xu, and we thought he was her boyfriend." The young man scratched his head, looking a little guilty. "Sorry, Sister Xu."
"Really not?" Sister Wang asked, and after seeing Xu Songning shake his head, she pouted regretfully, "The captains at our airport are all quite handsome."
"He is handsome, but that's not true. You guys, stop spreading rumors. This coffee is my signal for taking annual leave. If you drink my coffee, you'll have to prepare to work overtime." Xu Songning shoved the coffee and straw into Sister Wang's hand.
Sister Wang smiled and accepted it, "Okay, I haven't seen you rest on New Year's Eve. You won't be so busy in a while, so just rest and don't think about work."
"Okay, I'm going to hand over my shift now, Sister Wang." Xu Songning shook her headphones.
Xu Songning, focused on her work, put the little incident behind her. The young man was even outside serving her coffee. After her explanation, he should be able to stop talking nonsense.
The radar screen was densely packed with aircraft. Xu Songning drank half a cup of honey water before his shift to ensure that his voice wouldn't be hoarse by the end of the workday.
"Phew." Xu Songning let out a long sigh of relief. Time to go home!
She had no idea what rumors were circulating outside. After she got her things and returned to her car, she turned on her phone and a series of messages popped up. She saw a message from Lu Xiaomeng.
"What? My sister Xu is getting married?! How come I didn't know?!"
marry? ?
