Chapter 226 The Beach
They returned to the hotel, where the housekeeper helped move their luggage to a beach room.
Looking out the door from the room, instead of the endless blue sea, there was a white sand beach, a completely different view.
With no other plans for the evening, they had dinner at the hotel, and then Xiang Yun took Xu Songning to the beach to digest their food.
Near the coast, you can hear the waves gently lapping against the shore, carrying sand back into the sea.
The moon was bright, and all around was quiet.
Xu Songning took a twig and wrote on the sand.
The long branches are not as easy to control as a pen, and the characters written on them lose their original style, taking on a somewhat cute quality.
Xu Songning wrote Xiang Yun's name on the beach, but the seawater surged up and instantly submerged her ankles, carrying the writing away.
"Hey, I don't believe it."
Xu Songning took a few steps back, threw her slippers on the beach, walked barefoot on the sand, lifted her skirt, and bent down to write.
Xiang Yun picked up her slippers and placed them some distance away. He then picked a suitable branch for himself and walked barefoot to her side.
Xu Songning deliberately squeezed closer to him, but Xiang Yun put his arm around her waist to prevent her from faking it.
The seawater rolled in and carried the words away.
Xu Songning protested, "Why does it always steal my writing? Is it trying to sabotage me?"
"Possibly."
Xiang Yun wrote "Ningning" on the ground. Xu Songning looked at it for a while, felt that something was missing, and drew a small heart after her.
The sea had calmed down by now, and she waited for a long time, but no waves came.
"That's strange, Yun-ge. Write your name down too, I'll take a picture." Xu Songning took out his phone and directed Xiang Yun to write.
"No, no, you can't write it after my name, you have to write it before it."
Xiang Yun didn't ask any more questions and did as she said.
Xu Songning opened the video, held the phone in one hand, and pointed it at Xiang Yun's back.
The sea breeze billowed his clothes, yet he remained steady in the wind as he wrote his name.
Xu Songning walked over to check, zoomed in, took the branch with his right hand, and drew a big heart in the middle.
The tree branch brushed past these words in the camera lens. She hooked her finger around Xiang Yun's and said softly, "Brother Yun, read it aloud."
"Xiang Yun, Ningning." Xiang Yun deliberately avoided reading the heart in the middle.
Xu Songning was so angry that her teeth itched. She grabbed his arm and threatened, "If you don't study well, don't go back today. I'm going to leave you here."
"don't want."
"What?" Xu Songning's ears went weak.
"Sister Xu, don't leave me here." Xiang Yun's breath brushed against her neck, and his fluffy head came closer to kiss her earlobe.
Yun-ge is so good at flirting, what should I do?
Cold dish.
You still have to finish reading it.
She kept patting his arm, urging him to read on.
"What are you going to do with the video?" Xiang Yun asked.
"It's for keeping as a memento. Once we've saved enough videos, we'll burn them onto a CD and store them." Xu Songning turned the camera towards Xiang Yun. The light was insufficient at night, so Xiang Yun's face was a little blurry in the lens, but it couldn't hide his handsomeness.
Xu Songning reached out and touched his face, her gaze gentle. "Handsome captain, please read it for me."
Xiang Yun grabbed her hand, gently bit her palm, and stared intently at her beautiful eyes peeking out from behind the phone, his voice deep and resonant.
"Xiang Yun loves Ningning."
The pleasant voice rushed into her ears, and Xu Songning didn't react for a moment. She turned off the filming and threw herself at Xiang Yun, saying, "I didn't hear you clearly. Say it again."
"I'm not going to say anything more, the vouchers are all gone." Xiang Yun patted her waist.
Xu Songning tried to deny it, saying, "This time I definitely won't be distracted. I was looking at the camera and didn't hear it."
"Then watch the video again." Xiang Yun's ears turned red. With Xu Songning hanging around his neck, he stepped back, and Xu Songning moved with him, refusing to let go.
"Brother Yun, you're the best. Say it again." Xu Songning smiled and kissed his chin.
"no."
"No way? There are still people over there. I'm going to kiss you in front of them later." Xu Songning threatened without any intimidation.
Foreigners are not reserved at all; what's a kiss?
But Xu Songning knew that Xiang Yun was reserved. He looked calm and composed, but his ears were actually burning red.
It's already difficult enough to ask him to say it once, let alone ask him to say it again, it's just making things difficult for him.
"What's there to be shy about? I'll teach you. Ningning loves Xiang Yun." Xu Songning blinked and leaned in to kiss the corner of his mouth.
Xiang Yun looked down at her; this time, it was his turn to pretend he was deaf.
"What did you say?"
“I said, Xu Songning loves Xiang Yun.” Xu Songning’s feelings were always outward and passionate; the smile on her face was infinitely wide, etched into Xiang Yun’s heart.
Xiang Yun held her tightly, his throat dry.
A wave of seawater washed ashore and licked their ankles.
Xu Songning looked down and saw that the words had indeed been swept away again.
"Disappeared."
Xiang Yun glanced at it as well, but the seawater erased the traces on the shore, as if his words had been swept away with it.
"Xiang Yun loves Ningning."
Xu Songning smiled and hugged him. "I know. Okay, now Da Hai knows too, there's no going back."
"I will never regret it, never." Xiang Yun gently kissed her forehead.
They sat on the beach, quietly watching the waves rise and fall together.
The sea breeze ruffled her hair, and she let it fall naturally over her shoulders.
Passing tourists greeted them and reminded them that the tide might come in early that night and they should head back soon.
"Are you sleepy?" Xiang Yun rubbed the top of her head.
Xu Songning was indeed tired, and the waves were getting closer and closer to them.
"I'm tired, let's go back."
Xiang Yun went to get the two slippers, only to find three left on the spot. He glanced around and saw a white slipper being pulled towards the sea by something.
He was quick-witted and managed to pick up the slippers just as they were about to be swept away by the seawater.
A crab the size of a palm was hanging on the slipper strap, stubbornly tugging at its prize and refusing to let go of its pincers.
Xiang Yun wondered if catching it back would make it an extra meal.
He reached out to catch the crab, which was startled and immediately released its claws, falling into the sea and disappearing instantly.
Xiang Yun brought the slippers back, and Xu Songning's head had already started nodding.
He knelt down, helped her put on her shoes, and lifted her up. "Will you walk by yourself, or should I carry you?"
Xu Songning yawned and chose another option, "Let's hug."
Xiang Yun indulgently opened his arms, and she lightly jumped into his embrace, hooking her feet around his waist, burying her head in his shoulder, and comfortably closing her eyes.
Xiang Yun steadily supported her, slowly walking towards the hotel, the seawater washing away their footprints behind them...
