Chapter 239 Discovering the Secret
Xiang Yun glanced at the master bedroom. The door to the master bedroom was closed, and Xu Songning should be combing her hair in the bathroom. She couldn't hear any movement from the living room.
"Song Ning may be a little afraid of getting married."
Ms. Xu was slightly surprised, but she quickly regained her composure and nodded. "She didn't tell you about our family's situation, did she?"
“I haven’t asked either,” Xiang Yun replied.
Ms. Xu chuckled and patted the back of his hand. "You're a good boy. I'm very relieved to entrust Songning to you. Since she hasn't mentioned it, let me talk to you about it."
"As soon as you said she was scared, I knew why. It all started with my failed marriage with her father."
Her father and I fell in love at first sight in college and naturally got married.

Winter was too cold, so during their time off, the two of them would stay at home and play two-player games.

"What do you want to eat today?" Xiang Yun put down the game controller, glanced at the weather outside. It wasn't raining, so they could go out and buy some fresh vegetables.

Xu Songning started rummaging through the kitchen. She didn't come to the kitchen often and had no idea where things were stored.
After searching the kitchen, she checked the refrigerator, but couldn't find the hot pot base in either place.
She called Xiang Yun, "Brother Yun, I can't find it in the kitchen."
"Didn't find it? I think I moved some of the stuff to the storage cabinet on the balcony last time. Go check it out." It was noisy on Xiang Yun's end, and the supermarket's announcements were very loud, so the two of them could hardly hear each other.
Xu Songning hung up the phone and went to the balcony to search. Sure enough, he found a cardboard box in the storage cabinet, which was full of unopened spices.
She took the cardboard box out, and her gaze suddenly stopped as she was drawn to something deep inside the locker.

The cool ring warmed her heart.
Xiang Yun knew how she felt. He knew she was afraid to move to the next stage, and he knew her every hint that she didn't want to propose. So he kept waiting for her.
A series of hurried footsteps came from outside the door, and Xu Songning immediately realized that Xiang Yun had returned.
