Chapter 62 An Arrogant Human, Meow

Chapter 62 An Arrogant Human, Meow

Xiang Yun's gaze seemed almost tangible, landing on the back of her hand, making it impossible for her to pretend she hadn't seen it.

So she boldly placed her hand under his eyelids and tilted her head to look at him.

"It looks good." Xiang Yun coughed lightly, trying to cover up his misunderstanding, and continued installing the cat tree.

Seeing that he had turned his back, Xu Songning decided to stop there and slowly got up to get the bowl prepared for Sanhua.

One bowl with a watermelon pattern is used for drinking water, and the other bowl with small pink flowers is used for holding cat food.

They haven't received the cat food yet, but the nurse gave them a bag, which they can use in an emergency.

The water and cat food were placed on the ground, and the calico cat, which had been wandering around, came over. It first licked Xu Songning's fingers, then put its head close and elegantly drank the water, its pink tongue slowly licking the surface of the water.

After drinking its fill of water, it went over to eat cat food, its tail held high.

Xu Songning squatted down beside it, stroking its tail repeatedly.

The calico cat was happily eating its food, ignoring the intrusive human and wagging its tail to avoid being held. The two of them were having a great time, like playing a game.

After eating its fill of cat food, Sanhua moved closer to Xiang Yun. It didn't cause any trouble, but just stayed close to Xiang Yun, rubbing its fluffy head against his legs. The cat hair got all over Xiang Yun's trouser legs.

Xiang Yun freed one hand and touched Sanhua with the clean back of his hand, stroking it from its head to its back. It purred happily.

"If I had the time, I definitely wouldn't let anyone else raise Sanhua." Xu Songning was quite melancholy. Sanhua was just too well-behaved, so well-behaved that she couldn't find any fault with her. She simply couldn't resist this kind of action that was naturally cute.

Xiang Yun sensed her reluctance and comforted her, "If the adoptive parents live in Shanghai, we can visit Sanhua often."

Xu Songning's heart softened. Xiang Yun said that they should go see Sanhua together. She wasn't the only one who couldn't bear to part with Sanhua. If someone went with her, Xu Songning suddenly felt that it wasn't unacceptable for Sanhua to be adopted.

The gloom dissipated, and she happily chased after Sanhua to play. Sanhua skillfully crossed various obstacles, surveyed its territory, and dealt with the humans behind it.

Xu Songning was tired from playing, but Sanhua was still quite energetic, circling around Xiang Yun.

After spinning around a few times, it unceremoniously lay down on Xiang Yun's shoes, lying on its back and yawning.

Xiang Yun lifted the top of his shoe and said to Sanhua, "Don't worry, it'll be quick."

He stood up and installed the last leaves. The leaves weren't difficult to install, and soon the entire cat tree was set up.

Xu Songning came out after squeezing orange juice and saw Xiang Yun checking the stability of the cat tree. Her eyes lit up.

Seeing pictures on a shopping app is one thing, but seeing the actual product after it's installed is quite another.

She felt a sense of accomplishment and joy, even though Xiang Yun had packed it all together; it was still a gift that she and Xiang Yun had given to Sanhua together.

"Wow, that's amazing! Yun-ge, you're so quick to impress people." Xu Songning laughed, handing over a glass of orange juice.

Xiang Yun didn't take it. He hadn't noticed if he was thirsty while he was busy, but he realized his throat was parched when he saw the orange juice. He opened his dirty hands and turned his head. "Your hands are dirty. Put them aside for now."

His voice was a little hoarse, and Xu Songning knew immediately that he was thirsty. She simply took the cup and held it to his lips, saying, "You drink it."

The gesture was rather ambiguous, but the two of them tacitly kept silent.

Xu Songning was half a head shorter than him, and raised his cup.

Xiang Yun lowered his head, took her hand, and drank half a glass of orange juice. His throat finally felt better. "Thank you."

"Why are you being so polite with me? Go wash your hands, or you'll get your clothes dirty," Xu Songning said.

Xiang Yun wiggled his feet. "Sanhua, let's move."

The calico cat, lying on the shoe, stretched out its four paws and gave a cute yawn, showing no intention of moving.

Xu Songning couldn't help but laugh at its lazy appearance. Seeing Xiang Yun about to pick it up, she quickly said, "Don't pick it up, I'll go get a toy."

Xiang Yun paused, standing still and waiting for her. She cut open another package and took out a cat toy. Several light purple feathers hung from the end of the slender stick. As she moved, the feathers swayed up and down, instantly attracting the attention of the calico cat.

It leaped off Xiang Yun's foot and into the range of the cat toy, then suddenly stopped with its face, making Xu Songning laugh out loud. She waved the cat toy, constantly changing its position, and the calico cat kept chasing after it, trying to reach out its paws to grab its feathers.

Freed from his predicament, Xiang Yun was finally able to wash his hands. On the washstand were Xu Songning's light yellow toothbrush, some basic skincare products, a bottle of perfume, and two lipsticks.

A cherry blossom-scented hand sanitizer was placed on the counter. He pressed a pump and slowly rubbed his fingers.

Xu Songning's laughter and the sound of Sanhua's claws scratching could be heard from the living room from time to time.

It was a wonderful feeling; it dispelled the coldness of Xu Songning's minimalist home decor. It truly felt like a home, with warm people and a lively cat.

The sound of flowing water pulled Xiang Yun back from his whimsical thoughts, telling him that it was just his imagination.

After Sanhua was sent away, he and Xu Songning were only friends and neighbors for the time being.

The cat tree was already installed, and seeing that it was getting late, Xiang Yun wiped his hands and prepared to go home.

"Drink your orange juice, it's pretty good." Xu Songning looked at him while holding Sanhua.

Xiang Yun picked up the cup, and it seemed as if the cup still held the warmth of another person.

His arm was a little itchy. He looked down and saw that Xu Songning was holding Sanhua and bumping its head against his arm.

She blinked, her voice soft, pretending to be a prostitute, and deliberately raised her voice, "Brother, will you still come and play with me?"

After saying that, she nudged his arm with her head. She meowed and the two of them were being affectionate. How could anyone refuse?

"Come on, aren't there still some things we haven't gotten for it?" Xiang Yun glanced at the time. The inn was still open, so he planned to go there first to get the cat litter and cat food, otherwise Sanhua wouldn't be able to use the toilet tonight.

"I'll go get the cat litter first." Xiang Yun packed her things and placed the cat tree on the balcony, making sure it didn't take up any proper space.

Sanhua jumped down from Xu Songning's arms and went to play on the cat tree by herself. She had never seen this thing before, but she climbed up and down very skillfully, found a comfortable position for herself, nestled in the cat bed, and yawned widely.

"It seems really sleepy. Let it sleep by itself. Let's go get it together," Xu Songning said.

The two went downstairs together. Xu Songning was too lazy to buy things in batches, so he simply bought three bags of cat litter at once, which weighed almost as much as cement.

Xiang Yun borrowed a small trailer from the innkeeper, who agreed without hesitation because he was so handsome.

Xu Songning had no opportunity to use her skills, so she carried her newly bought hair clip package and followed behind Xiang Yun.

Suddenly, a voice called out from behind.

"Hey, sister?"
