Chapter 77 Someone Did It On Purpose

Chapter 77 Someone Did It On Purpose

"What's going on?"

Xu Songning stood at the elevator entrance, carrying a bag of fresh vegetables in her hand and a bag slung over her right arm. It was inconvenient to hold her phone to type, so she awkwardly hung the bag on her elbow, the weight of which made her arm sag.

Just as she was about to hang her bag on her left hand, someone patted her shoulder, lifted her bag, and supported its weight.

"Xu Songning, did you put bricks in your bag?"

Xu Songning immediately forgot about being rejected and looked at the newcomer with a smile, "Brother Yun! What a coincidence! Did you just come back from the airport or from somewhere else?"

Xu Songning hadn't seen Xiang Yun's shoes outside for the past few days. He figured that Xiang Yun usually flew four flights a day, two round trips, and was usually able to come back to stay overnight. If he wasn't home, something must have happened.

“Unfortunately, I’ve been traveling with you.” Xiang Yun took the bag off her arm. “I just came back from the city. I’ve been busy over there for the past few days.”

Xu Songning exclaimed, "Ah!" Since Xiang Yun didn't say what it was about, she didn't press him further. She simply stared at him with her almond-shaped eyes and asked, "You've been following me all this way, so why didn't you come and help me?"

Xiang Yun pointed to her bag, "How was I supposed to know your bag was so heavy?"

"Hahaha, I bought a few packs of AD calcium milk and put them in my bag. Want some?" Xu Songning laughed and tilted his head.

"drink."

Xu Songning gestured for him to take it out of his bag himself. Xiang Yun took out a bottle of AD calcium milk, inserted a straw, and actually drank it in front of her.

Such a calm and handsome face, drinking AD calcium milk through a transparent straw, is quite a contrast.

"Is it delicious? Isn't it a novel experience?" Xu Songning asked him.

"It tastes even better frozen," Xiang Yun replied calmly.

Xu Songning said "Oh", "So Brother Yun also secretly drinks such childish beverages. No wonder he's Sanhua's brother. Sanhua also likes to lick calcium milk."

Xiang Yun paused, his teeth loosened, and the straw popped out, spilling white calcium milk onto his pale red lips. Perhaps because of his good health, Xiang Yun's lips were always very rosy and full.

He stuck out his tongue, gently swept it across his lips, and rolled the calcium milk into his mouth.

Xu Songning stared intently at him, then suddenly moved closer, focusing on the corner of his lips, and held out her finger, "Brother Yun, there's still a little bit here."

My fingertips were warm, and when they touched the corner of his lips, I brushed them across them, intentionally or unintentionally.

Xiang Yun looked down at the mischievous hand, knowing full well that someone was doing it on purpose.

Even knowing she did it on purpose, he couldn't help but catch his breath, his gaze falling on her sly smile, the upturn of her lips a sign of her good mood.

"Okay, I've wiped it off for you. No need to thank me." Xu Songning wiped her lips and casually distanced herself.

Xiang Yun couldn't help but tug at his tie, loosening the collar a little.

The elevator has finally arrived.

Xu Songning was the first to enter the elevator and press the floor button.

Xiang Yun stood silently beside her, wanting to find something to talk about, but didn't know what to say.

They didn't seem to have talked about anything else. He didn't know what Xu Songning liked, disliked, or what her hobbies were. The only thing that could serve as a starting point for their conversation was a three-colored pet.

So he asked, "How about the three flowers?"

Xu Songning put her phone into the bag Xiang Yun was carrying and said with a smile, "Sanhua, it's doing very well. Ever since we put its bowl away, it's been eating obediently every day and hasn't made a fuss. Do you want to go see it? Sanhua's brother."

"Okay." Xiang Yun stopped arguing with her about whether she was his brother or not. It didn't matter anyway; Sanhua was their cat.

"You're in for a treat today. My mom's not here, so Sister Xu is cooking for us herself." Xu Songning said, smiling brightly as she picked up the dishes in her hand.

Xiang Yun was silent for a few seconds. He remembered that Xu Songning's cooking skills were not much better than his own. The last time the two of them ate at her house, she cooked sweet wine, he stir-fried blanched lettuce, and Lu Xiaomeng's frozen dumplings. Only the dumplings were not bad.

Because of his previous cooking failure, Xiang Yun even learned how to make blanched lettuce online. He also applied this blanching method to other vegetables, and it worked just as well, and the vegetables tasted palatable.

He was constantly traveling and staying in hotels, so he didn't have many opportunities to showcase his culinary skills and therefore didn't focus on developing them. However, his previous failure was a blow to his resolve to turn things around in the culinary world.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Xu Songning teased him, "Why aren't you saying anything? Is my cooking that terrible? Why don't you stop cooking? Shall we go out to eat?"

The elevator has arrived.

Xiang Yun went out first and said in a resigned tone, "It's not scary, you cook, I'll eat."

Entering the kitchen wasn't difficult. Xu Songning didn't know why her cooking skills hadn't improved. Luckily, her mother had cut up the braised beef she made and put it in the refrigerator, so she could take it out and fool Xiang Yun later.

As soon as the door opened, Sanhua came over to smell the human scent.

Smelling two familiar scents, Sanhua relaxed and rolled on the ground, turning her soft belly over and wiggling it toward the humans who came in, with an adorable expression that seemed to be asking for a pat.

Xu Songning, who was "heartless," stepped over it, but in reality, she had touched it too much these past few days and needed to calm down.

Xiang Yun squatted down, picked up the calico cat that had sprawled out like a pancake, and rubbed his chin against its head.

Xiang Yun wondered if it was because Xu Songning often held it, but he always felt that he could smell Xu Songning's fragrance on Sanhua.

He refused to believe it and raised the three flowers again, taking two gentle breaths.

"I bought it a new shampoo, doesn't it smell great?" Xu Songning tied on an apron and leaned against the kitchen doorway with a smile.

"It smells nice. What's it?" Xiang Yun calmly put down the three flowers.

"It smells like freesia, just like my shampoo, right, Brother Yun?" Xu Songning said with a smile.

Xiang Yun recalled the scent for a moment, "It's somewhat similar, but your shampoo smells better."

"Haha, I think so too! You play with Sanhua for a while, I'll cook."

Xu Songning opened the refrigerator and took out braised beef and a few fresh eggs.

I just bought cilantro and scallions today. I'm going to make cilantro-dressed braised beef and scallion omelets. These two dishes are simple and delicious, so I'm sure they'll turn out well.

Xiang Yun sat on the sofa. Sanhua, carrying a cat toy, walked up to him, placed the toy in front of him, and then lay softly on the floor, wriggling like a caterpillar.

"Want to play with this?" Xiang Yun picked up the cat toy and casually waved it a couple of times.

The three flowers leaped up lively, their bright eyes fixed on the feathers, constantly making movements as if to pounce on them.

Xiang Yun picked up the cat toy, and Sanhua also stood on tiptoe. When she couldn't reach it, she meowed anxiously and bumped her head against Xiang Yun's calf.

While the person and the cat were having a great time, a scream suddenly came from the kitchen.

"oops!"

Xiang Yun's expression changed, and he immediately got up and rushed towards the kitchen.
