Chapter 102 A Life of Leisure and Debauchery
Su Xi ignored everything else and focused solely on her work.
She initially chose Guangyao because she thought it would be natural to go on a business trip to the capital before her pregnancy became too big. Now that she has decided to divorce, she is no longer so concerned about where she works.
After all, this lawsuit should be settled within a month at most. By then, she and Feng Jinchen will have no further connection, and she will be free to choose where she wants to work and hide her pregnancy.
The office door was pushed open, and several people from the human resources department escorted a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses as he walked in.
The man exuded an air of elegance, drawing everyone's attention.
Upon seeing Shen Congxuan, Su Xi's eyes flickered with surprise.
"Su Xi, I've come to take you back to Guangyao."
Various envious, jealous, and hateful gazes swept towards Su Xi.
The personnel quickly completed the handover, and Su Xi left with Shen Congxuan, still somewhat incredulous even after getting into the car.
How could Feng Jinchen, with his stubbornness that wouldn't budge even if ten donkeys pulled him back, suddenly change his mind? Or is Manager Shen more capable than she imagined, managing to get the person from Feng Jinchen?
As she was pondering, the car door opened, and Wu Xiaoyun got in with a smile. "Xixi, I just went for a walk around. Feng's is really big. I thought you were reluctant to come back."
"How could that be?" Su Xi smiled, only then noticing that there was another person sitting in the passenger seat, the newly appointed team leader, Lu Fan.
Seeing Su Xi looking over, Lu Fan smiled and extended his hand, "Hello."
"Hello." Su Xi reached out and shook hands with him. A feeling of gratitude welled up inside her.
The boss came to pick her up in person, and probably to avoid any appearance of impropriety, he also brought two colleagues, which gave her a strong sense of belonging.
As Shen Congxuan drove, he casually gossiped, seemingly unintentionally, "I just heard something interesting. You know President Feng of Tianjue, right? He's known for being upright and honest, and not interested in women. He doesn't even have a female secretary."
Unexpectedly, last night I called a young female subordinate into my office alone for the first time. When she came out, she was stammering and her cheeks were red.
This has become the talk of the town in our circle. Everyone's happy for him. To put it bluntly, we all thought he was gay.
Su Xi felt inexplicably uncomfortable listening to this, and when she noticed Shen Congxuan looking at her in the rearview mirror, she quickly composed herself.
"And you, Su Xi, as his... relative who helped him choose the house, you should be happy for him too, right?"
Su Xi unconsciously tightened her grip on her handbag, nodded, and smiled, "Yes."
"Xixi, you're related to President Feng? Then you're also related to this young President Feng? A wealthy and powerful family."
"They're just poor relatives, let's not talk about them." Su Xi blinked. "Manager Shen, have you heard anything about Wu Qingluan lately?"
Shen Congxuan's grip on the steering wheel tightened suddenly, his expression calm and composed. "No. If you want to find her, I can send someone to inquire about her."
"No need, thank you." Wu Qingluan was just a minor character; she planned to settle things with her grandmother and Luo Chen in the capital after the divorce before settling accounts with her.
Su Xi was very comfortable at work at Guangyao. After dinner, she received a call from Huang Sifeng, who said, "Bring all the IOUs your uncle wrote. Let's meet at the coffee shop."
"That money..."
"We'll talk about it when you get here."
Upon arriving at the coffee shop, Huang Sifeng took the IOUs and checked them one by one. The total amount was correct, but she still asked with concern, "Any more?"
"It's gone."
The moment she finished speaking, Huang Sifeng tore all the IOUs into shreds and soaked them in hot coffee.
Su Xi opened her mouth but didn't speak. She hadn't intended for her uncle to write an IOU; it was he who insisted. So be it if he tore it up.
The woman was somewhat guilty, but she still stubbornly insisted, "Without your money, our company wouldn't have been targeted by your man like this, to the point that we've fallen into such a predicament."
"Your uncle wouldn't allow it, so I made the decision on my own. If you care about your uncle, then don't tell anyone."
"Don't worry, I won't tell."
"Keep your man in check. If this happens again, I'll remove you from the Su family genealogy even if it kills me." Huang Sifeng glanced at Su Xi, grabbed her bag, and left.
Su Xi finished her coffee, paid the bill, and left.
Liu Cheng emerged from the entertainment club, his face filled with anxiety. Upon seeing Su Xi, his eyes lit up, and he quickly ran over to her.
Hearing someone call her name, Su Xi turned around and was somewhat surprised to see Liu Cheng.
“Miss Su, Mr. Feng has a bad stomach and can’t drink too much, but he’s been drinking one glass after another today, and I can’t persuade him to stop. Could you… help me persuade him?”
Su Xi smiled wryly, "Why would he listen to me? And what right do I have to advise him?"
"Oh, Miss Su, why don't you give it a try? President Feng has saved you many times, so you should repay him. You don't need to say anything; just standing there might be enough."
Su Xi bit her lower lip, her face full of struggle. How could this be? Her uncle had saved her many times. It wouldn't matter if she went and embarrassed herself, but the problem was that it would be completely useless.
"Let's go. We'll get into trouble if we keep drinking." Liu Cheng grabbed Su Xi's clothes, and Su Xi had no choice but to follow him into the entertainment club.
The club was a place of extravagance and debauchery, a place where one could live a life of pleasure and decadence.
From afar, a group of men in suits and ties and a dozen or so service staff dressed in light clothing came out, with Feng Jue leading the way.
"Mr. Feng, this is Zhiyu, the most beautiful top hostess in the club. Let her keep you company tonight."
A shapely girl with very little clothing was pushed onto Feng Jue.
Zhiyu stumbled, looked up and saw Feng Jue. Her heart leaped with joy, and her cheeks flushed with excitement.
But the man's expression was cold, which made her afraid to get close. She could only stand at a distance from him, looking at him with shy and timid eyes.
Feng Jue's handsome eyebrows furrowed slightly, and the moment he turned around and saw Su Xi, he stopped in his tracks.
The man's lips curled into a seductive and unrestrained smile as he casually put his arm around Zhiyu's shoulder.
Upon seeing this, Su Xi's pupils suddenly contracted.
The man was clearly dressed neatly, yet he gave off an impression of being disheveled, which was particularly jarring to her.
Feng Jue casually and lazily put his arm around Zhi Yu's shoulder and brushed past Su Xi.
The moment their eyes met, the man's eyes were filled with a smile, yet it made Su Xi's heart tremble. The way he looked at her was even worse than if she were a stranger, filled with mockery and ridicule.
Su Xi stood there blankly, then turned around stiffly, watching helplessly as Feng Jue led the woman into the room, and the door slammed shut behind him.
"It's all over! President Feng must be drunk. He'll regret it when he wakes up and might even kill me! Miss Su, you'd better think of something!" Liu Cheng stamped his feet anxiously.
Su Xi then remembered that Feng Jue would black out when he was drunk. Last time, he kissed her lips until they were swollen, but he didn't remember anything.
She felt a little better knowing that he probably hadn't recognized her earlier.
Her gaze fell on the tightly closed door, and imagining the boundless spring scenery inside, Su Xi's face turned deathly pale again.
But what right does she have to stop it?
Liu Cheng looked anxiously at Su Xi, "Miss Su, if I bang on the door, can you cover for me? Can you protect me?"
Su Xi smiled bitterly, shrugging, "Assistant Sun, are you drunk too? What have I done to deserve this..."
As they were talking, the door was suddenly flung open, and Zhiyu rushed out in a panic.
