Su Xi's off-road vehicle had a high chassis and was entirely black, making it impossible to tell that it was a girl's car. However, Ye Qingqian still noticed at a glance that there was a fluffy cushion under the windshield, on which lay a small, snow-white kitten about the size of a sweet potato.
She was about to say that the kitten was so realistically made when, in the next second, the kitten stretched, rolled over, and wriggled uncoordinatedly as it bit its own tail. Its little eyes shone like glass, and its cuteness melted her heart.
"Wow, this kitten is real! Where did you steal it from?"
Su Xi rolled her eyes at her, "It was a gift from the aunt next door. You can borrow it for a few days if you like."
"Okay, okay, no take-backs allowed."
Seeing Ye Qingqian get into the car, Ji Feifei bit her lower lip hard, her voice trembling, "Why is there still someone here?"
Wu Qingluan rolled her eyes at her disdainfully, "Calm down, anyway, they can't trace it back to you, so what does it matter if it's one or a group?"

Ye Qingqian petted the cat and kissed it several times. The kitten meowed softly, its paw pads covering its face as a weak protest.

Suddenly, she remembered the first time she watched Feng Jinchen play basketball in college. The man was so nervous that he moved his arms and legs in unison, and he lost several games in a row despite being usually invincible. But because of Su Xi's encouragement, the man was energized and turned the tide of the game.
Shaking off her jumbled thoughts, Su Xi started the car and drove away.
In the car some distance away, Wu Qingluan was both excited and jealous. She was excited because Su Xi was finally going to be in big trouble, and jealous because both of them were surrounded by rich young men; she felt she was much prettier than those two women.
Seeing Ji Feifei's panicked expression, Wu Qingluan curled her lip, "What are you afraid of? Evil lives on forever, she won't die so easily." Compared to letting her die, being paralyzed and half-dead is more satisfying.
"Sister Wu, should we follow them?"
"Foolish. Are you trying to expose yourself by following them?"
The two didn't leave until late at night, their backs aching from sitting so long, and Wu Qingluan even got a stiff neck after a nap. But that's another story.
There were pedestrians crossing the road ahead. Su Xi stepped on the brakes, but the car's speed did not decrease at all. She made a dangerous swerve.
She tried several times, but the result was the same. Realizing that the brakes had failed, large beads of sweat instantly appeared on Su Xi's face.
Fortunately, this was in the suburbs, with wide roads and few people, so Su Xi could barely manage. But if the road conditions changed, things would be much worse.

No one answered the phone until it was disconnected.

Without wasting words, she said directly, "Uncle, my brakes seem to have failed, and I'm on the road now."
There was a moment of silence on the other end, then Feng Jue's calm and collected voice came through, "Send me your location. I'll be there right away."

"Su Xi".
"Um?"
"Don't be afraid, I'm here."
"I understand." After hanging up the phone, Su Xi's pounding heart gradually calmed down. She had already turned on her hazard lights and sounded her horn in advance when she saw danger from afar, and she passed each obstacle without incident.
Noticing a flash of light behind her, she glanced at the rearview mirror, her almond-shaped eyes widening. Feng Jue's car had arrived so quickly.

"Open the passenger door."

Suddenly, she opened her eyes wide and stared in disbelief as the man leaped into her car.
Su Xi was so shocked she almost lost her grip on the steering wheel.
