Chapter 524 Doing What Men Want to Do
The air froze instantly.
The warm touch on her lips felt like an electric shock, sending a tingling sensation up to the top of Shen Li's head.
Time paused for three seconds.
Shen Li sprang back, her back slamming heavily against the ship's side with a dull thud.
She covered her mouth, still shaken, her eyes wide as she stared at Yang Yi.
The man touched the corner of his lips with the tip of his tongue where she had just bumped into him, his eyes deep and unreadable.
He didn't say anything.
But the more he acted like this, the more Chen Li's heart pounded.
Awkward.
Her mind went blank; all the excitement she had felt from seeing the dolphins had vanished.
Silently putting away her camera, she shrank to the other side of the boat, hugged her knees, buried her face in them, and began to play dead.
I don't want to talk to him at all.
The man beside her had such a strong presence; the faint scent of tobacco mixed with the aroma of the ocean emanated from him and seeped into her nostrils.
Yang Yi said, "It's not like we've never kissed before, there's no need to be so awkward."
"We've done everything, even the most intimate things."
Shen Li: ...
She turned around and glared at him fiercely. "You, you're not allowed to speak."
Yang Yi curled his lips and didn't say anything more, but he noticed that her ears were red.
cute!
Shen Li's heart was pounding wildly.
Back at the dock, Yang Yi's assistant, A Biao, was already waiting there.
"Brother Yi, everything has been arranged as you instructed."
Ah Biao handed over a document and began to report on the specific situation of the port, from throughput to shipping route planning, with detailed data.
Shen Li forced herself to get into work mode.
She pricked up her ears, trying her best to cram those dry numbers and information into her mind; this was part of her professional competence.
Yang Yi listened while glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
Seeing her serious expression, quickly jotting something down on her phone's memo app, her businesslike demeanor was a stark contrast to his panicked state on the ship earlier.
After finishing her report, Shen Li immediately stood up straight and looked at Yang Yi.
"I have a general understanding and have taken notes."
She spoke very quickly, as if she was in a hurry to get rid of something.
"The video will be finished tomorrow. I need to go back and write the script now. Could someone send it to me?"
After saying that, she picked up her camera bag, looking like she was about to make a quick getaway.
Yang Yi looked at her energetic demeanor and a very faint smile appeared on his lips.
"I'm not in a hurry."
His voice was deep and unhurried.
"I'll take you somewhere in a bit."
Shen Li refused without even thinking.
"I don't want to go."
Her tone was harsh, with obvious resistance.
Yang Yi took a step forward.
His tall stature enveloped her completely in his shadow, creating a powerful sense of oppression.
"You must go."
This is not a discussion, it's an order.
An unyielding and domineering attitude.
Inside the car, Shen Li leaned against the window, remaining silent.
The street scene outside the window rushed past, and her heart was in turmoil.
It wasn't until the car stopped that she realized they had arrived at the entrance to an ancient city.
The road is paved with bluestone, the eaves are upturned, and rows of red lanterns hang high, swaying gently in the wind.
This place is...so beautiful.
Shen Li's eyes lit up immediately.
She likes places with a sense of history, where every brick and tile seems to tell a story.
But the light only lasted for a second before she quickly pressed it down herself.
She withdrew her gaze, her expression returning to its usual indifference.
She didn't want him to know that she liked this place.
Yang Yi took in all the changes in her expression, but said nothing, and simply led her inside.
The ancient city was bustling with tourists, full of lively atmosphere.
He led her into a quiet alley, where a small, inconspicuous shop stood deep inside, with a wooden sign that read "Zhao's Desserts" hanging at the entrance.
"Try this."
He ordered the shop's most famous osmanthus cake and a bowl of sweet fermented rice balls, and pushed them in front of her.
"This family's cooking skills have been passed down for three generations, and it's delicious."
Shen Li lowered her head, picked up her spoon, and mechanically ate.
Osmanthus cake is soft, sweet, and melts in your mouth—it's her favorite flavor.
But she just didn't want to show it.
Yang Yi didn't rush her, but slowly sipped his tea, occasionally glancing at her with a deep look in his eyes.
"Don't you like it?" he asked.
Shen Li shook her head and remained silent.
"Then eat more."
He then pushed a plate of freshly baked lotus flower pastries over.
The more "considerate" he was, the more awkward Shen Li felt.
What's this?
A slap followed by a sweet treat?
Or... something else?
Anyway, she will not forgive him, nor will she be Nan Wan's substitute.
She is now awake.
After finishing their meal, the two continued to stroll around the ancient city.
Yang Yi didn't force her to speak anymore, but simply walked quietly beside her.
Suddenly, a man rushed out from the alley next door and bumped hard into Shen Li's shoulder.
It was quite powerful.
She stumbled and was about to fall.
An iron arm instantly wrapped around her waist, pulling her steadily back into its embrace.
Yang Yi's deep voice sounded above her head.
Are you alright?
She shook her head and rubbed her shoulder.
He helped her to her feet, and the next second, his eyes turned cold.
He took two steps forward and grabbed the man who had already walked several meters away.
"Apologize."
The man's tone was very impatient, and he waved his hand dismissively.
"Are you blind? We're in a hurry to get going."
Yang Yi didn't waste any more words.
He threw a punch right away.
The punch was powerful and struck the man squarely in the cheek.
The man staggered from the blow and immediately cowered, covering his face and begging for mercy.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I was wrong!"
Shen Li stood there, watching this scene, her heart heavy with sorrow.
Yang Yi was like that three years ago.
No matter who bullies her, no matter who is right or wrong, he never asks why.
He will only make the other party apologize.
You disagree?
Then fight until they submit.
That unreasonable favoritism used to be her greatest source of confidence.
She looked away, said nothing, and continued walking forward.
My heart is in complete turmoil.
That evening, Yang Yi took her to a famous restaurant by the river. The evening breeze was exceptionally gentle, but it did nothing to lift Chen Li's spirits.
The dishes on the table are all the most famous local specialties, steaming hot.
If it were before, she would have been ecstatic.
But now, all she wanted was to end this suffocating dinner as soon as possible.
She really didn't want to be alone with him, not even for a second.
Shen Li took a few bites, then put down her chopsticks and looked up at him.
"Yang Yi, don't waste your time."
Her voice was soft, yet resolute.
"I will never love you again; we are in the past."
She stood up and picked up her bag.
"If you don't want things to get this awkward, let me go."
"Let me finish my work in peace and quiet, and don't bother me anymore."
Yang Yi looked at her, his Adam's apple bobbing, his eyes churning with emotion.
He hesitated for a few seconds.
In the end, he only uttered one word.
"good."
Shen Li turned and left without lingering for a moment.
Yang Yi remained seated, then gave a wink to the air. Two bodyguards in black suits silently rose from the corner and followed him from a distance.
The streetlights along the river lengthened Chen Li's lonely shadow.
As she walked, tears began to stream down her face uncontrollably.
My heart aches and feels so heavy, it's unbearable.
She really broke down.
Suddenly, a beam of headlights shone on her, and a black SUV came to a steady stop beside her.
The car door opened, and Yan Feng strode out of the car quickly.
His tall figure was exceptionally clear in the night.
Shen Li looked at him, and all her grievances instantly burst forth.
It's like a child who has been bullied outside seeing their family.
She threw herself into his broad arms and clutched the shirt at his chest.
"Take me away."
"I don't want to stay here anymore, waaaaah..."
Yan Feng's heart clenched. He raised his hand and gently patted her trembling back.
He took a special leave to fly over because he was worried about leaving her alone.
When he learned that Yang Yi had taken her away, he was completely devastated.
It was only in that instant that he realized he had long since fallen for this stubborn girl.
So, he came.
"I'll take you away." His voice was gentle yet firm.
"Don't cry."
Before he could even open the car door, a chilling voice drifted from behind him.
"I advise you to let her go."
Yang Yi appeared out of nowhere, followed by four bodyguards, each burly and exuding an imposing aura.
Yan Feng ignored him, and simply lowered his head to gently wipe away the tear stains on Shen Li's face with his fingertips.
"Okay, stop crying."
"Step aside first."
He gently pushed Shen Li behind him.
Yang Yi smirked, his eyes filled with provocation.
"Want to fight?"
Yan Feng flexed his wrists, showing no sign of weakness.
"I'm available anytime."
No sooner had they finished speaking than the two began to fight.
The fists clashed, each aimed to kill.
Yan Feng punched Yang Yi squarely in the chest. Yang Yi lost his balance and stumbled back several steps, his brows furrowing tightly.
His old injury had not yet healed.
The pain spread instantly after that punch.
He was furious.
The next second, he rushed over, his fists and feet moving so fast they were just afterimages, each move ruthless, and he directly captured Yan Feng, pinning his hands behind his back and pressing him to the ground, unable to move.
"Let him go!"
Shen Li screamed and ran over.
"Yang Yi, stop!"
She rushed over, forcefully pushed Yang Yi away, helped Yan Feng, whose mouth was bleeding, up, and helped him into the car.
Yang Yi stood there, his eyes blazing with fury, the veins on his forehead throbbing, and his men rushed over.
"Brother Yi, quick, take some painkillers."
His chest injury hasn't fully healed yet; that punch must have been excruciatingly painful.
He took the medicine, put it directly into his mouth, then took the water and swallowed it in one gulp.
Shen Li stepped on the gas and took Yan Feng directly to the nearest hotel.
The hotel room was brightly lit.
Yan Feng was shirtless, his strong muscles covered in bruises, which looked rather frightening.
Shen Li was carefully applying liniment to his bruises.
Her small hand rested on his warm chest, focused and attentive.
The door was kicked open with a bang.
The loud noise made Shen Li's hand tremble.
Yang Yi stood at the door, exuding a chill.
His gaze fell on Yan Feng's bare chest, then on the woman's small hand pressed against it.
His face was extremely cold.
Without saying a word, the four bodyguards stepped forward and roughly separated Yan Feng.
Yang Yi strode forward, bent down, and picked up Chen Li horizontally.
What are you doing!
Shen Li was startled and struggled desperately in his arms.
"Let me go! Yang Yi, let me go!"
"Yang Yi, let her go!" Yan Feng shouted at Yang Yi's back while being restrained by the bodyguards.
Yang Yi said nothing, his anger almost materializing.
He carried her all the way to the presidential suite on the top floor.
He closed the door and threw her onto the huge, soft bed.
Then he began to unbutton his shirt, one button at a time.
What are you going to do?
"Do what men want to do," he said bluntly.
Shen Li's pupils constricted sharply, and she scrambled to the other end of the bed, wanting nothing more than to escape.
How could he let her go?
The man took a long stride, grabbed her slender ankle, and pulled hard.
He dragged Shen Li back to the center of the bed, then leaned down and held her tightly in his arms.
He lowered his head, his hot breath spraying onto her face.
Then, he kissed her fiercely...
