Chapter 211 I Believe in You

Xuan Si, who was standing to the side, gasped.

She wasn't shocked by Sang Yuwan's relationship with Shen Yilin, but rather surprised that Sang Yuwan had said it so openly.

Mingmei isn't one of our own.

She and Sang Yuwan have never gotten along since childhood.

Mingmei's fingertips almost pierced her palm as she took a deep breath, a mocking smile appearing on her lips. "Sang Yuwan, you really have no shame. Your father is just an ordinary citizen, how could he possibly be the eldest son of the Shen family?"

Sang Yuwan continued flipping through the documents in front of her. "If you don't believe me, go ask Shen Yilin."

Seeing her calm expression and unhurried tone, Mingmei's heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly felt a little uncertain.

The air around her seemed to freeze, and each heartbeat was accompanied by a slight tremor that struck her eardrums clearly and powerfully, making it impossible for her to calm down.

Sang Yuwan handed the signed document to Xiansi, "Take Miss Ming downstairs."

Xian Si took the document and replied, "Yes, Madam." Then, she turned her gaze, lowered her eyes, and said to Ming Mei, "Miss Ming, please."

Mingmei's chest heaved, her face flushed and paled. "Sang Yuwan, you'll regret this."

Sang Yuwan slightly raised her eyelids and sneered, "Mingmei, you'd better watch yourself."

Mingmei stood up indignantly.

Even though she was standing, she inexplicably felt as if Sang Yuwan was looking down on her from a superior position.

The imposing aura emanating from the other party was quite terrifying.

She bit her lip and kicked the ergonomic chair backward.

squeak--

The chair scraped against the floor, making a screeching sound.

Sang Yuwan frowned slightly. "Mingmei, this isn't a place for you to run wild."

“You…” Mingmei choked, her eyes widening. The words of retort stuck in her throat, and she couldn’t say them.

Xian Si raised her voice slightly, "Miss Ming, if you don't leave now, I'll have to call security."

Mingmei was burning with rage, her blood rushing to her head, her face flushed crimson. After a few seconds, she stamped her foot and said, "Sang Yuwan, we'll see."

Sang Yuwan glanced at her coldly, her eyes filled with contempt and sarcasm.

Mingmei clenched her fists, and walked out in her high heels with a "thump thump thump".

She had just chased him away when Ji Xiao walked in with a document in his hand.

Before he could even sit down, he eagerly announced, "Chairman, we've secured the textile factory project."

"Oh?" A hint of surprise appeared in Sang Yuwan's eyes.

There have been so many upsetting things happening lately, so this is something to be happy about.

"President Ji, please sit down and let's talk."

Ji Xiao pulled the chair that Mingmei had just kicked aside to Sang Yuwan's desk and sat down gracefully. Then, he gently placed the folder in his hand in front of Sang Yuwan.

Sang Yuwan did not open it, but pushed it back.

"Chairman, what's going on?" Ji Xiao asked, puzzled. "Is there a problem?"

Sang Yuwan sat up straight, her expression cold. "President Ji, there's no need to send me this kind of work again."

Ji Xiao was taken aback.

Sang Yuwan said, "From now on, you don't need to ask me for permission for anything within your authority." After a pause, she added, "I trust you."

Ji Xiao felt a pang of emotion. Although he was the CEO of Bo's Group, he was essentially just a high-level employee.

The Bo Group is, after all, a business owned by the Bo family.

With just a word from Sang Yuwan, he could be fired at any moment.

He didn't expect that Sang Yuwan would trust him so much before the probationary period was even over.

"Thank you for your trust, Chairman. I will definitely do my best in my work."

Sang Yuwan pursed her lips and smiled faintly, "Could it be that your mind isn't entirely focused on the Bo family right now?"

Ji Xiao quickly denied it, "Chairman, that's not what I meant."

Sang Yuwan said, "President Ji, if there's nothing else, you may leave."

Ji Xiao was about to get up when he hesitated for a moment. "Chairman, regarding the Xixi project, should we abandon it or continue?"

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened slightly as she replied, "Let it wait a little longer."

A hint of worry surfaced in Ji Xiao's eyes, "That project required a lot of initial investment, and abandoning it now would probably result in even greater losses."

Upon hearing this, Sang Yuwan gave a half-smile and said, "I can afford this loss."

Ji Xiao nodded and stood up. "Chairman, I'll go down now."

"Hmm." Sang Yuwan pursed her lips, her voice somewhat cold and lonely.

Ji Xiao took the folder and walked out.

He encountered Xiansi at the door of the secretary's office.

"Assistant Ji, how has the chairman been feeling lately?"

Xian Si paused, then frowned slightly. "President Ji, I don't quite understand what you're saying?"

Ji Xiao lowered his voice, "I was just asking casually."

With a puzzled look in his eyes, he walked toward the elevator.

Minglang came over and approached Xiansi, "Has the Fourth Miss been seen off?"

"They've been sent away," Xian Si said irritably.

Minglang noticed that she seemed a little off and his heart tightened. "What's wrong?"

Xiansi glanced around, then pulled him into the reception room. "How has Madam been feeling lately?"

Minglang was stunned. "Everything's fine. What's wrong?"

Xian Si frowned. "I find it strange that President Ji suddenly asked me that."

A hint of surprise flashed in Minglang's eyes. "He said Madam is unwell?"

Xuan Si pursed her lips. "Mm."

Minglang patted her shoulder, his brow relaxing. "He probably just made wild guesses because Madam didn't come yesterday."

Xiansi nodded. "Perhaps." After a pause, she asked, "What's the situation with Madam and Second Master now?"

Minglang's heart tightened, and his expression immediately became wary. "Why are you asking this?"

Xian Si said, "Second Master has been returning to the capital a lot lately, and I'm worried that Young Master Shen might take the opportunity to cause trouble for Madam."

A vein bulged on Minglang's forehead. "He dares!"

Xian Si's expression grew more serious. "What wouldn't he dare to do? He's even bribed Ming Mei."

Minglang was startled, his anger intensifying. "What?!"

Seeing this, Xiansi quickly pinched his arm hard, "Keep your voice down."

Minglang's heart pounded, and a crease appeared between his brows. "I'll call the master right away."

Xian Si quickly stopped her, "Madam hasn't spoken yet, why are you in such a hurry?"

"How can I not be anxious?" Minglang's forehead was covered in cold sweat. "Madam has been in danger several times, all because of Young Master Shen. Now, he has even bribed Fourth Miss. From childhood to adulthood, Fourth Miss has caused Madam a lot of trouble."

Xian Si's expression grew even more somber. "I know. Madam knows better than you do. I think she's been planning this for a long time."

Minglang's eyelids suddenly twitched. "Xiansi, why is my heart racing?"

Xian Si rolled her eyes at him. "You're the lady's bodyguard."

Minglang took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. After a while, his expression calmed down a little, but his eyelids were still twitching.
