Sang Yuwan's lips were taut, her pretty face covered with a layer of frost. Her every step exuded authority.
Seeing that she didn't speak, Xiansi didn't dare to say another word.
Sang Yuwan walked straight towards the office.
The staff in the secretary's office all stood up when they saw her. "Good morning, Chairwoman!"
Mingmei, who was sitting in the reception room, hurriedly got up when she heard the noise.
She walked out, about to speak, when the door to Sang Yuwan's office slammed shut.
"Fourth Miss, what brings you here?" Minglang had received a phone call, so he hadn't come with Sang Yuwan. He frowned when he saw Mingmei.
When Mingmei saw him, her breath hitched, and she asked with a hint of annoyance, "What, can't I come?"
Minglang frowned even more and lowered his voice to remind her, "Madam has already instructed that you are not welcome here."
Her bright eyes narrowed, and her expression turned extremely ugly. "What did you say?"
Minglang suppressed his displeasure and continued, "Fourth Miss, this is not the Ming family home. Madam is not the same as she used to be. Do you really think she wouldn't dare to touch you?"
Mingmei was furious. "Minglang, you're nothing but Sang Yuwan's dog. How dare you talk to me like that?"
Minglang's expression changed drastically, her demeanor hardened, and she emphasized, "Fourth Miss, what wouldn't I dare to do?"
Mingmei gritted her teeth, her facial muscles twitching, and cursed, "You dog slave."
Minglang got angry too, "Try swearing again."
“Scolding you is too lenient,” Mingmei said, raising her hand.
"Miss Ming, Madam wants you to come in." Xian Si arrived just in time.
Mingmei glared fiercely at Minglang, her expression menacing. "Minglang, when I get back, I'll have my uncle deal with you."
Minglang gave a dismissive smile and retorted, "Who gets dealt with is still uncertain."
"You..." Mingmei was so angry that her chest felt tight and her face turned pale.
Xian Si's expression was cold. "Miss Ming, please."
Mingmei bit her lip and followed her into Sang Yuwan's office.
Minglang stood there resentfully for two minutes, hesitating whether to tell Mingzhan.
After thinking about it, I decided to wait until I figured out why Mingmei came over before making a decision.
Mingmei walked into Sang Yuwan's office with an arrogant and haughty demeanor.
Xian Si spoke respectfully, "Madam, Miss Ming has arrived."
Sang Yuwan, sitting at her desk, didn't even look up, only coldly saying, "Sit."
Her bright and arrogant demeanor diminished considerably, and the veins on her forehead began to bulge out.
Xiansi remained silent and did not pull out a chair for her.
Mingmei rolled her eyes at Xiansi with annoyance, then awkwardly pulled out a chair and sat down, crossing her legs in an arrogant manner.
"Sister Wan..."
"Speak. What is it?"
Sang Yuwan's tone was as cold and piercing as if it had been tempered with ice.
Mingmei shivered involuntarily, her fingers clenched tightly, her fingertips pressed against her palms.
After a few seconds of silence, she finally spoke, "Sister Wan, what have you thought about what I asked Assistant Ji to tell you?"
Sang Yuwan put down his pen and signed his name on the document. Then, he opened another book.
Xiansi seemed to be waiting for her to finish signing, standing quietly to the side.
Seeing that Sang Yuwan remained silent, Mingmei's face darkened. She turned to Xiansi and fired, "Assistant Ji, did you forget to tell Sister Wan?"
Xuan Si pursed her lips, "I..."
Sang Yuwan abruptly interrupted, "Mingmei, isn't my stance clear enough?"
Mingmei paused for a moment, puzzled, and said, "I don't understand..."
A cold smile appeared on Sang Yuwan's lips.
"That's what the lady meant," Xian Si explained. "She didn't consider it."
Mingmei's heart sank, and she took a deep breath. Her finger bones turned white.
She looked at Sang Yuwan, who was flipping through documents, and a fierce glint flashed in her eyes. "Sister Wan, aren't you worried that I'll reveal the cause of Mr. Bo's death?"
Sang Yuwan still didn't look at her, her tone so cold it could freeze someone to death, "The cause of Mr. Bo's death has already been made public by the Bo family."
"That's just your excuse." Mingmei's chest heaved as she raised her voice, "Master Bo clearly died from excessive indulgence with Gu Jingheng..."
"Heh." Sang Yuwan smiled coldly, holding the pen, and slowly raised her eyes.
Mingmei suddenly met her gaze and noticed that her face had darkened. "Sister Wan, once this matter is made public, I'm afraid you won't be able to keep the baby in your belly."
Xian Si was startled upon hearing this.
Sang Yuwan's cold gaze fell on Mingmei's face, like a sharp, cold blade gleaming with a chilling light.
"Mingmei, did you witness with your own eyes Mr. Bo and Gu Jingheng dying in a drunken stupor?"
Mingmei blurted out instinctively, "Although I didn't see it with my own eyes, but..."
"Or do you have videos of them having sex?" Sang Yuwan interrupted coldly.
Mingmei was stunned.
Sang Yuwan's sharp gaze fixed on her eyes. "You neither saw it with your own eyes nor have any video footage, so what makes you say that Bo Xingzhi died from excessive indulgence in pleasure?"
Mingmei's heart skipped a beat, her spine went numb, and a layer of cold sweat appeared on her forehead.
Minglang was right. The woman sitting across from her was no longer an orphan who had lost both her parents, but a well-known female tycoon in Jiangcheng.
He was no match for her anymore.
A faint, mocking smile appeared on Sang Yuwan's lips. "Mingmei, you've always been adept at making up lies. Now, you've even gone so far as to fabricate one about a dead man. Aren't you afraid he'll come looking for you in the middle of the night?"
The temperature inside the office suddenly dropped several degrees.
A chill ran down Mingmei's spine, and she couldn't help but sneeze.
Sang Yuwan frowned, her expression one of disgust. "Xiansi, from now on, no unauthorized personnel are allowed to enter without my permission. If you violate this rule again, you're fired immediately."
Xian Si lowered her head tremblingly, "Yes, Madam."
Mingmei stared wide-eyed at Sang Yuwan. A suffocating feeling washed over her, making her almost faint.
Xiansi stepped forward and said to Mingmei, "Miss Ming, we've finished talking, let's go."
Mingmei took a deep breath and blinked her sore eyes. "I haven't finished yet, why are you rushing me?"
"Madam has already given her answer," said Xian Si. "Do you have anything else to say?"
Mingmei was seething with anger, her eyes burning red. "Sang Yuwan, I didn't see it with my own eyes, and I don't have the video from that night." She paused, then smiled sinisterly. "I don't have it, but others do."
"Oh?" Sang Yuwan raised an eyebrow, a dark glint flashing in her eyes. "The 'other person' you're talking about is Shen Yilin."
Mingmei's brow twitched. "So, you knew all along..."
Her expression changed. "Wait, how did you know? Are you lying to me?"
Sang Yuwan withdrew her gaze and continued flipping through the documents. "Mingmei, did Shen Yilin tell you that I am actually his older sister?"
"What?!" Mingmei felt a buzzing in her head, and her thoughts completely stopped.
