Chapter 154: An Unexpected Encounter Continued

Jiang Zhi clutched her phone, her heart filled with confusion and unease. She didn't know who this mysterious man was, nor did she know if what he said was true or not. But she knew, for Tang Junxi's sake, she had to take a risk. She checked the time; it was still a few hours until eight o'clock. She decided to use that time to make some more preparations. She returned to her desk and began to organize the things she might need, all the while wondering about the identity of this mysterious man and what news he might bring.

Throughout this process, Shen Qingchen's figure still flashed through her mind from time to time. She wondered if she should tell Shen Qingchen about this, but she quickly dismissed the idea. She felt she couldn't trust anyone easily, especially when it came to something as serious as Tang Junxi's death. She had to face this mysterious man alone, and no matter what dangers lay ahead, she would move forward courageously.

As time went by, Jiang Zhi was ready. She put on a dark coat, tied her hair up, and then took her prepared things and walked out of the house. She stopped a car on the street and drove towards the abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city.

On the way, Jiang Zhi's nerves grew increasingly tense. She didn't know what awaited her, but she told herself to stay calm. Her hand tightly grasped a small self-defense device, which she had prepared for protection during the investigation. She gazed out the car window at the increasingly desolate scenery outside, her heart filled with fear of the unknown.

Finally, the car arrived near an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. Jiang Zhi got out, paid, and walked toward the abandoned factory. The abandoned factory looked particularly eerie in the night. A dead silence reigned, with only her footsteps echoing through the empty factory rooms. She walked into the factory cautiously, her eyes warily observing the surroundings.

"You're finally here." A voice sounded in the darkness. Jiang Zhi's heart suddenly tightened. She looked in the direction of the voice, but could only see a blurry figure.

"Who are you? What do you know about Tang Junxi?" Jiang Zhi asked loudly, trying to make her voice sound majestic.

The figure slowly walked out, and in the faint moonlight, Jiang Zhi could see the other person's face clearly. It was a middle-aged man with a mysterious expression on his face and a complex emotion in his eyes.

"It doesn't matter who I am. What matters is that I know who killed Tang Junxi." said the middle-aged man.

Jiang Zhi stared at him intently and said, "Tell me quickly, who is it?"

The middle-aged man smiled and said, "Since you are so eager to know, I will tell you. The person who killed Tang Junxi has a close connection with the Shen family."

Jiang Zhi was shocked when she heard the news. She never thought that this matter would be related to the Shen family. Shen Qingchen's figure immediately appeared in her mind. She didn't know if Shen Qingchen was also involved. Her heart was full of contradictions and pain. She didn't know how to face this sudden news.

"Why are you telling me this? What is your purpose?" Jiang Zhi asked.

The middle-aged man looked at her and said, "I just can't stand seeing those bad guys get away with it. I know you've been investigating Tang Junxi's case, so I wanted to tell you this news. But you have to be careful. The forces behind this matter are very powerful, and you may not be able to handle it alone."

Jiang Zhi nodded solemnly, indicating that she understood and accepted the other party's reminder. She said softly, "Thank you for telling me this. I will be careful."

The middle-aged man looked at her deeply, then turned and disappeared into the darkness, leaving Jiang Zhi standing there alone with mixed feelings.

Jiang Zhi stood quietly, her mind racing. She wasn't sure how to view what this man said, or how credible it was. However, she knew that no matter what, she needed to re-evaluate her relationship with Shen Qingchen. She couldn't help but wonder if Shen Qingchen knew about this, and she also questioned whether she could continue to face him the same way as before.

Jiang Zhi stood in the abandoned factory for a moment, as if time had frozen. Finally, she slowly took a step and left the factory.
