Chapter 154: An Unexpected Encounter Continued

Jiang Zhi looked at Shen Qingchen's back, with a complex emotion in her heart. She didn't know what she felt for Shen Qingchen, she only knew that she couldn't be tied down by emotions now. She refocused her attention on her thoughts and tried to continue sorting out the clues about Tang Junxi's death.

However, Shen Qingchen's appearance was like a stone dropped into a calm lake. Although he had left, the ripples that had arisen lingered for a long time. Jiang Zhi found it difficult to concentrate. Shen Qingchen's eyes, his words, and his towering figure kept appearing in her mind. She felt a little annoyed at her own hesitation. She secretly warned herself to quickly shake off this emotional interference and return to the investigation.

A moment later, Jiang Zhi's coffee arrived. She took a sip, hoping the bitterness would soothe her nerves and sober her up. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then opened them again, her gaze filled with renewed determination. She pulled out her notebook and began to sort through the clues, from Tang Junxi's last known location to the people he'd interacted with, taking in every detail.

While Jiang Zhi was concentrating on sorting out the clues, Shen Qingchen was also silently watching her from his seat. Although he was apparently looking at his business documents, his mind was completely on Jiang Zhi. He saw Jiang Zhi frowning and thinking from time to time, and he knew that Jiang Zhi must be worried about something very important. His heart was filled with the urge to help her, but he also knew that Jiang Zhi was not willing to accept his help yet.

Shen Qingchen's assistant came over at this time and reminded him that the time for negotiation was almost up. Shen Qingchen nodded, took a last look at Jiang Zhi, then packed up his things and left the cafe.

Jiang Zhi felt relieved when Shen Qingchen left. She felt that she could finally continue working without interruption. But for some reason, she felt a faint sense of loss in her heart. She shook her head, trying to get rid of this feeling, and then devoted herself more fully to sorting out the clues.

However, fate seems to always play tricks on us. Just when Jiang Zhi thought she had escaped Shen Qingchen's influence, she discovered a name related to the Shen family on a page in her notebook. This name, suddenly appearing during the investigation into Tang Junxi's death, startled Jiang Zhi. She wondered if this name was related to Shen Qingchen, nor what secrets lay hidden behind it. Her heart was filled with doubts, and these doubts inevitably brought back thoughts of Shen Qingchen.

Jiang Zhi knew that she couldn't ignore this clue. Regardless of whether it was related to Shen Qingchen, she had to investigate further. She closed her notebook and decided to return to her residence to further study this newly discovered clue. She stood up, paid the bill, and walked out of the cafe.

The sun shone down on her, but she felt no warmth. Her heart was filled with a desire for the truth and a fear of the unknown. She didn't know where this new clue would lead her, nor did she know how her relationship with Shen Qingchen would change because of it. But she knew she had no way out. She had to follow this clue, even if it meant a bottomless abyss.

Jiang Zhi hailed a taxi on the street, got in, and told the driver her destination. As the taxi drove, the scene of her encounter with Shen Qingchen in the cafe kept appearing in her mind. She tried to find some clues from Shen Qingchen's expression and words, but she found that she could not find anything. She could only hope that after returning to her residence, she could find some answers by studying the clues in depth.

The taxi stopped in front of Jiang Zhi's residence. Jiang Zhi got out and walked into her apartment. Her residence was a simple, tidy little apartment filled with information and documents related to the investigation. She went straight to her desk, turned on her computer, and then took out her notebook and began to search for any information she could find about the name associated with the Shen family.

As her investigation deepened, Jiang Zhi discovered that the name was closely associated with the Shen family's business dealings, but the specific connection remained vague. She knew she needed more information to solve the mystery. She searched online for information and contacted some friends she had made during the investigation, hoping they might be able to provide some assistance.

Several hours passed, and Jiang Zhi still had no substantial progress. Feeling a little tired, she stood up and made herself a cup of tea. She walked to the window with the tea and looked out at the city view. The hustle and bustle of the city formed a sharp contrast with the loneliness in her heart. She knew that on this road to finding the truth, she could only rely on herself. But for some reason, the figure of Shen Qingchen appeared in her mind again. She didn't know why, she only knew that Shen Qingchen had become an existence in her heart that could not be ignored.

Just as Jiang Zhi was lost in thought, her cell phone suddenly rang. She picked up the phone and saw that it was an unfamiliar number. She was a little confused, wondering who would call her. She hesitated for a moment, then picked up the phone. A deep voice came from the other end of the phone: "Jiang Zhi, we need to meet. I have some news you don't know about Tang Junxi's death."

Jiang Zhi's heartbeat suddenly quickened, and she asked anxiously, "Who are you? How did you know I was investigating Tang Junxi?"

The person on the other end of the phone smiled and said, "You don't need to know who I am. If you want to know the truth, come to see me at the abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city at 8 o'clock tonight. Remember, don't tell anyone, otherwise you will never know the truth." After that, the other party hung up the phone.
