Jiang Zhi anxiously brought the injured Shen Qingchen back home. As soon as she entered the house, she carefully helped Shen Qingchen lie down on the sofa, and then quickly went to get the medicine box. Her eyes were full of worry and heartache, and her hands trembled slightly. After all, seeing Shen Qingchen injured because of her, her heart was deeply touched.
She gently opened the medicine box, and the various medicines inside were neatly arranged. She first found the sterilized cotton ball, then picked it up with tweezers and slowly approached the wound on Shen Qingchen's leg. The wound was still bleeding, and the skin around it was a little red and swollen. Jiang Zhi took a deep breath, trying to make her hands steady. She said to Shen Qingchen gently: "It may hurt a little, just bear with it." Shen Qingchen looked at her focused look, and his heart was full of warmth. He smiled and said: "It doesn't matter, with you here, this little pain is nothing."
When the disinfected cotton ball touched the wound, Shen Qingchen couldn't help but frown. Seeing this, Jiang Zhi's hands moved more gently. While gently wiping the wound, she asked softly: "Does it hurt? I'll try to be gentle." Shen Qingchen shook her head and said: "It doesn't hurt, just continue." Jiang Zhi carefully cleaned the blood and dust around the wound, and then began to look for a suitable ointment.
She rummaged through the medicine box, muttering softly, "This ointment is better for reducing swelling and relieving pain, let's use it." After finding the ointment, she dipped some with her index finger and gently applied it to Shen Qingchen's wound. Her movements were as gentle as the breeze, and every application was full of concern. Shen Qingchen looked at her quietly. He found that when Jiang Zhi was focused, there was a different light in her eyes, and that light made him even more immersed in it.
After applying the ointment, Jiang Zhi took out the gauze and began to bandage the wound carefully. She wrapped the gauze around and around, each circle just right, not too tight to make Shen Qingchen feel uncomfortable, nor too loose to cause the gauze to slip off. During the bandaging process, she looked up from time to time to check Shen Qingchen's expression, fearing that she would hurt him.
After bandaging the wound, Jiang Zhi did not stop. She knew that Shen Qingchen had just experienced a chase and must be very tired, so she decided to go to the kitchen to make something for him. She walked into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, looked at the ingredients inside and began to think about what to make. She thought that Shen Qingchen needed to replenish his nutrition now, so she made a nutritious chicken soup.
She pulled a fresh chicken from the refrigerator and set to work. She cleaned the chicken and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Then, she boiled water in a pot and blanched the chicken to remove any blood and impurities. Afterward, she removed the blanched chicken and placed it in a stew pot. She then added ginger slices, scallions, goji berries, and red dates. Then, she added an appropriate amount of water, covered the pot, and began to simmer.
While the chicken soup was cooking, Jiang Zhi thought that Chen Qingchen might need some lighter food, so she started to prepare a vegetable porridge. She took out the rice, washed it carefully, and then put the rice into the pot, added an appropriate amount of water and began to cook the porridge. While the porridge was cooking, she went to cut some fresh vegetables, including carrots, greens, and mushrooms. She cut these vegetables into small pieces and prepared to add them to the porridge when it was almost done.
The chicken soup simmered slowly in the pot, its aroma gradually spreading. Jiang Zhi periodically checked on the progress of the broth, adjusting the heat to ensure its rich flavor. The porridge also simmered, gradually thickening. When the porridge was almost done, Jiang Zhi added the chopped vegetables, stirred well, and continued to simmer for a while, allowing the nutrients from the vegetables to blend into the porridge.
Finally, the chicken soup and vegetable porridge were ready. Jiang Zhi poured the chicken soup and vegetable porridge into bowls and carefully brought them to the living room. She placed the bowls on the coffee table and then whispered to Shen Qingchen, "Qingchen, the chicken soup and vegetable porridge are ready. You can eat some now." Shen Qingchen looked at the steaming food in front of him and was moved. He sat up, and Jiang Zhi quickly took a cushion and placed it behind him so that he could lean on it more comfortably.
Shen Qingchen took a sip of the chicken soup first, and the rich aroma instantly spread in his mouth. He praised: "This chicken soup is really delicious, you made it very well." Jiang Zhi smiled and said: "As long as you like it, drink more, it will be good for your wound recovery." Shen Qingchen drank a few more sips of chicken soup, and then started to eat the vegetable porridge. He found that the vegetable porridge was light and delicious, and the fragrance of the vegetables and the softness of the rice were just right. He said while eating: "The porridge you made is also delicious, and it makes me feel warm."
Jiang Zhi watched Shen Qingchen eat with gusto, and her worries were relieved a little. She sat beside him, watching Shen Qingchen quietly, and reminding him from time to time to be careful of the heat. While Shen Qingchen was eating, Jiang Zhi began to think about how to let Shen Qingchen rest and recover better at home. She thought that the sheets in the room had not been changed for a while, and she should change a set of clean and comfortable sheets to let Shen Qingchen rest better.
So, she waited for Shen Qingchen to finish eating, then cleared the bowl and took it to the kitchen to wash. Then she went into the bedroom and found a set of clean, soft sheets from the closet. She first removed the old sheets and then laid out the new ones. She was very careful in making the sheets smooth, without a single wrinkle. She also made the pillows soft and comfortable, hoping that Shen Qingchen could rest well in this comfortable environment.
After making the bed, Jiang Zhi returned to the living room. She saw Shen Qingchen leaning on the sofa, looking a little tired. She walked over, sat next to Shen Qingchen, and said softly: "Qingchen, if you are tired, go to the bedroom to rest. I just changed the clean sheets." Shen Qingchen looked at her with love in his eyes. He said: "You are so nice. I feel very happy to have you by my side." Jiang Zhi's face flushed slightly, and she said: "You are injured, and it is my duty to take care of you."
