Jiang Zhi and her children hid in the corners of the city, each step filled with hardship and caution. The children, still young, didn't understand why their lives had suddenly become so turbulent, but they followed their mother obediently, their eyes, though naive, also revealing their trust in Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi looked at the children's tender faces, her heart filled with guilt and determination. She vowed to protect them and prevent them from coming to any harm.
Over the past few days, they've been living in the open air, moving from one end of the city to the other. Thanks to Jiang Zhi's wit and familiarity with the city's terrain, they've temporarily avoided the eyes of Jiang Yao and the mysterious organization. However, they dare not rest for even a moment, as Jiang Zhi knows full well that the enemy's pursuit is unstoppable and danger could strike at any moment.
One day, they arrived at a remote, abandoned factory. The factory's walls towered, weeds grew thickly, and the dilapidated gate, half-closed, creaked, as if telling of past prosperity and present decline. Jiang Zhi carefully led her child inside, inspected the surroundings, and after ensuring it was temporarily safe, she hid the child in a secluded corner, where a pile of discarded machinery and debris barely concealed the child's tiny frame.
"My dears, hide here. No matter what sound you hear, don't make a sound, okay? Mom will be back to find you soon." Jiang Zhi squatted down and held the children's hands tightly with both hands. Her eyes were full of reluctance and worry, but more of it was firmness and determination.
Although the children's eyes were filled with fear, they nodded sensibly. Jiang Zhi gently stroked their heads and gave them a comforting smile, then stood up, holding his weapon, and watched the surroundings vigilantly.
The factory interior was dark and damp, filled with a lingering smell of decay. Sunlight streamed in through the shattered windows, casting dappled shadows that made the space seem even more eerie. Jiang Zhi carefully navigated the abandoned machinery and pipes, her steps light and nimble, each one steady and precise, afraid to make even the slightest noise that might attract the enemy's attention.
Suddenly, she heard a slight sound of footsteps. Jiang Zhi immediately became alert and quickly hid behind a pillar, holding her breath and tightly gripping her weapon. The footsteps were getting closer and closer. She could feel her heartbeat accelerating, but her eyes became more determined. Years of training and experience allowed her to remain calm in the face of danger.
Several dark figures emerged from the shadows. They were wearing black tights and black masks, revealing only a pair of cold eyes. These killers were obviously strictly trained. Their movements were agile and fast, and the weapons in their hands flashed coldly in the sunlight.
Jiang Zhi took a deep breath, knowing a fierce battle was inevitable. As the assassins drew closer, Jiang Zhi seized the opportunity and rushed out from behind a pillar. With the agility of a cheetah, she instantly reached one of the assassins and fiercely slashed at him with her weapon. The assassin reacted quickly, frantically blocking with his weapon, but Jiang Zhi's attacks were fierce and decisive, and after a few moves, the assassin gradually revealed his flaws.
However, the assassins were numerous, and although Jiang Zhi was skilled, she was no match for the other. During a fierce battle with one assassin, another attacked from behind. Sensing the danger, Jiang Zhi dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow, but her arm was still scratched by the opponent's weapon, and blood instantly stained her sleeve red.
Jiang Zhi gritted her teeth, endured the pain, and continued to fight the assassins. She took advantage of the factory's complex terrain, sometimes hiding behind machinery, sometimes climbing pipes, skillfully avoiding the assassins' attacks while also looking for opportunities to strike back. Her eyes revealed a determination and unyielding spirit, and each attack was filled with anger towards the enemy and a desire to protect her child.
The killers were enraged by Jiang Zhi's stubborn resistance. They began to attack more frantically, pushing Jiang Zhi into a corner. Jiang Zhi's strength gradually depleted, her breathing became rapid, and she had several more wounds on her body, but she still did not give up. She knew that if she fell, the child would be in danger, so she had to persevere.
Just as Jiang Zhi felt despair, she suddenly heard shouts and cries of killing coming from the other side of the factory. Then, she saw several familiar figures rushing into the factory, led by none other than Lin Xiao. Lin Xiao was tall and burly, his eyes gleaming with a fierce aura. He wielded a longsword, its blade gleaming with a cold light, and charged into the group of killers like a flash of lightning.
Lin Xiao was a skilled warrior, his swordsmanship sharp and precise, each swing capable of taking the life of an assassin. He shouted loudly, bolstering morale, and joined his companions in a fierce battle with the assassins. The assassins were caught off guard by the sudden attack and immediately fell into chaos.
Jiang Zhi breathed a sigh of relief when reinforcements arrived, but she didn't let her guard down. She took the opportunity to break free from the killers and ran toward the children's hiding place. Seeing the children safe and sound, she felt a huge sense of relief. She hugged the children tightly, tears welling up in her eyes. In that moment, she felt the joy of surviving the ordeal and a deep sense of guilt towards them.
"Mom, you are hurt!" The child looked at the wound on Jiang Zhi's body, his eyes full of heartache and worry.
"Mom is fine, don't be afraid, babies." Jiang Zhiqiang endured the pain and comforted the children.
At this time, Lin Xiao and others had already dealt with most of the killers, and they quickly came to Jiang Zhi.
"Jiang Zhi, are you okay?" Lin Xiao asked with concern, a hint of anxiety in his eyes.
