Chapter 889 A battlefield full of dangers

At dawn, the morning mist shrouded the mysterious organization's stronghold like a veil, adding a gloomy and murderous atmosphere to the land about to be stained with blood. Jiang Zhi and his companions, each with a stern expression and a resolute gaze, quietly arrived at the outskirts of the stronghold, like ghosts in the dark night. Their footsteps were light and silent, and years of training made them adept at this life-or-death operation.

Jiang Zhi's nimble, agile form darted between buildings like a ghost. Drawing on her precise memory of the terrain from numerous covert reconnaissance missions, she deftly evaded wave after wave of patrols. Each sideways dodge into the shadows, each ethereal leap over an obstacle, showcased her extraordinary skill. Her eyes, like those of a hawk, constantly monitored her surroundings, never missing a single detail that might reveal her whereabouts.

However, the mysterious organization was no pushover. Its internal defenses were intricate and rigorous. Just as Jiang Zhi and his companions thought they were about to successfully penetrate the core area, a sharp, piercing alarm pierced the stillness of dawn. In an instant, the entire stronghold was illuminated like daylight. The glare made Jiang Zhi and his companions invisible. Immediately afterwards, the enemy surged in from all directions, their cries of destruction deafening. Thus began a thrilling life-or-death struggle.

Jiang Zhi bore the brunt of the attack, unhesitatingly charging at the foremost enemy. Her longsword swung with a swift, flashing blast, each strike bringing with it a fierce gust of wind. Enemies screamed and fell wherever she struck. But the enemy continued to pour in, and her teammates soon found themselves in a bitter struggle. Blades clashed, blood splattered, and the air was thick with the scent of blood.

Just as Jiang Zhi was engaging in a fierce exchange of blows with a towering, skilled martial artist, a dark figure suddenly appeared from behind. Relying on his years of sharp intuition, Jiang Zhi dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow. Turning, he saw Jiang Yao standing not far away, her eyes crazed and a twisted smile on her face, like a demon crawling from the depths of hell.

"Jiang Zhi, today is your death, and neither your child nor you will live!" Jiang Yao roared, her voice hoarse with extreme jealousy and resentment. She waved her hands wildly, directing her men to launch an even more fierce attack, her eyes gleaming with a desperate glint of madness.

Jiang Zhi's heart trembled, knowing full well that today's battle would be unprecedentedly difficult. She took a deep breath and gripped her sword tightly. The blade trembled slightly, not from fear, but from the impending will to fight. Her eyes shone with fearlessness. In this desperate situation, she showed no sign of retreat. Instead, she straightened her spine, ready to face greater challenges.

At this point, Jiang Zhi's teammates also realized the critical situation and gathered together, forming a defensive circle back to back, engaging in a desperate fight with the enemy. Each of them possessed unique skills. Some excelled in close combat, using punches and kicks with great force, each strike leaving the enemy with bruises and swellings; others were proficient in hidden weapons, firing them like meteors, accurately hitting their targets among the enemy hordes and making them unable to defend themselves.

But the enemy's offensive grew increasingly fierce. They were outnumbered and well-armed. Members of the mysterious organization, wielding sharp blades, gleamed with cold light as they pressed forward. Jiang Zhi and the others gradually began to tire, wounds forming on their bodies, their clothes stained red with blood. Yet, despite this, they resisted stubbornly, not one giving up easily.

During a lull in the fighting, Jiang Zhi quickly scanned the battlefield, searching for a possible breakthrough. She noticed a brief slack in the enemy's encirclement on the west side, presumably because some troops had been redeployed to support other areas. Jiang Zhi's eyes lit up, and she acted decisively, shouting to the west, "Everyone, follow me! Break out this way!" With that, she charged forward, sword in hand, clearing the way as if she were untouched.

Upon hearing this, his teammates followed without hesitation. They coordinated with each other, some defending against flank attacks while others followed behind Jiang Zhi to eliminate the pursuing enemies. Suddenly, they had actually opened a gap and rushed deeper into the stronghold.

But Jiang Yao wouldn't let them succeed so easily. Seeing this, she roared in anger and personally led a group of assassins after them. These assassins were all Jiang Yao's carefully cultivated confidants, each highly skilled in martial arts, fearless, and willing to stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They pounced on Jiang Zhi and the others like wolves, instantly turning the situation into a precarious situation.

Jiang Zhi was forced to stop and turn once again to face the frenzied attack from Jiang Yao and her group. She faced Jiang Yao head-on, their eyes etched with hatred. Jiang Yao swung her whip, which whistled through the air like a venomous snake, hurtling towards Jiang Zhi's throat. Jiang Zhi dodged, backhanding a thrust of her sword towards Jiang Yao's abdomen. Jiang Yao dodged swiftly, wrapping the tip of her whip around Jiang Zhi's sword and pulling with all her might, attempting to wrest the weapon from him.

Jiang Zhi wouldn't let her have her way. She pulled back her sword with all her might and simultaneously launched a flying kick at Jiang Yao's wrist. The pain inflicted on Jiang Yao, and she let go of the whip, but then, utterly enraged, she charged forward, desperately engaging Jiang Zhi in close combat. The two exchanged blows, each one using all their strength, each one deadly.

Aside, Jiang Zhi's teammates were also locked in a bitter struggle. Surrounded by Jiang Yao's dedicated soldiers, they fought tooth and nail, but casualties mounted. A young teammate, caught off guard, was struck in the back by an enemy's long sword. With a scream, he fell forward. Seeing this, Jiang Zhi, distraught, tried to withdraw to rescue him, but Jiang Yao held him tightly.

"Hmph, you can't even save yourself today, and you still want to save others?" Jiang Yao sneered, her attacks becoming increasingly fierce. Jiang Zhi was extremely anxious, but she could only grit her teeth and deal with it. She knew that she had to deal with Jiang Yao first before she could have a chance to save her teammates.

The buildings within the stronghold crumbled in the flames of battle, rubble and bricks falling from the sky. The cries of killing and screaming mingled like a symphony from hell. Jiang Zhi thought to herself, this isn't going to work. She needed a plan to escape this predicament. She scanned the surroundings anxiously, trying to find a flaw in the enemy's defenses or exploitable terrain.
