Chapter 889 A battlefield full of dangers

Suddenly, she spotted an abandoned tower not far away. It soared into the clouds, and relatively few enemies were around. Jiang Zhi hatched a plan. Seizing the opportunity, she feigned defeat, deliberately exposing herself to a vulnerable position, allowing Jiang Yao's powerful punch to strike her shoulder. Jiang Zhi grunted, stumbled back a few steps, then turned and ran toward the tower.

"Want to run? Not so easy!" Jiang Yao, seeing this, assumed Jiang Zhi was timid and trying to flee, and immediately led her men in pursuit. Jiang Zhi ran to the base of the tower and looked around, noting that the entrance was narrow, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. She quickly turned around, holding the entrance with her sword, and waited for Jiang Yao and the others to arrive.

Jiang Yao and her mortal warriors charged fiercely, but were stopped at the tower's entrance by Jiang Zhi's unstoppable aura. Jiang Zhi's sword lashed out like a dragon, each strike accompanied by a whistling sound, forcing the enemy to retreat. Jiang Yao, utterly furious, roared and charged forward, engaging Jiang Zhi in a fierce battle at the entrance.

Inside the tower, Jiang Zhi's teammates gradually broke free from the enemy's entanglement and rushed to reunite with her. Taking advantage of the tower's advantageous position, they temporarily stabilized their position. However, the enemy still surrounded them from outside and launched continuous attacks, and the situation remained extremely serious.

While fending off Jiang Yao's attacks, Jiang Zhi shouted, "Everyone, look for another exit or something useful in the tower!" Upon hearing this, his teammates immediately dispersed and searched the tower. Soon, one of them exclaimed in surprise, "There's a secret door here, leading to the courtyard behind!"

Jiang Zhi was delighted, knowing this might be their chance to escape. With all her might, she unleashed a fierce sword move, forcing Jiang Yao back several steps. Then, she shouted, "Everyone, retreat through the secret door!" She fought and retreated, shielding her teammates as they moved toward the secret door.

Seeing Jiang Zhi and the others trying to escape, Jiang Yao rushed over like a madman, swinging her whip with all her might. Jiang Zhi's arm was accidentally struck by the whip tip, leaving a bloody mark. But she endured the pain, severing the whip with a backhand strike of her sword, then turned and leaped through the secret door. Her teammates followed closely behind, closing the secret door and blocking it with debris.

The courtyard behind the secret door was filled with a foul odor, overgrown with weeds, and eerily silent. Jiang Zhi and the others dared not slack off, knowing the enemy would soon be upon them. "Everyone, figure out how to get out of here! We have to hurry," Jiang Zhi whispered, his voice weary yet resolute.

Just as they were searching for a way out, they suddenly heard a cacophony of footsteps and shouting outside. Clearly, the enemy had discovered their tracks and was closing in on the courtyard. Jiang Zhi and the others' hearts once again leaped into their throats. This perilous battle seemed endless... Whether they could once again find hope and survive remained uncertain. Jiang Zhi's unyielding spirit kept her fighting on. Even if the odds were slim, she would fight to the bitter end for justice, for her loved one, and for her teammates.

At that moment, the distant sky was ablaze with flames, and the sun seemed too frightened by the bloody battle to dare to appear. Jiang Zhi gripped her sword tightly, her gaze sharp as a torch, watching the various entrances to the courtyard, ready to face the coming attack. Her teammates beside her also had a determined look on their faces. They relied on each other, trusted each other, and on this brink of life and death, they wrote their own unyielding legend together. As the enemy's footsteps drew closer, the tension in the air grew thicker. A more brutal battle was about to break out in this small courtyard...
