At dawn, soft light, like a golden veil, filtered through the gaps in the curtains, quietly falling into the warm and elegantly decorated bedroom of Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen. Jiang Zhi slowly woke up and subconsciously reached out to touch Shen Qingchen's warm arm. The corners of his mouth unconsciously raised, and a reassuring smile appeared on his face. At this moment, a cheerful laugh as clear as a silver bell came from the next room, breaking the morning tranquility.
"Mom and Dad, get up quickly!" The daughter's soft voice was a little playful, followed by a burst of hurried footsteps. The bedroom door was gently pushed open, and the twin brother and sister ran in like two lively little birds.
The son ran to the bed first, grabbed Shen Qingchen's arm, and shook it hard, his bright eyes full of expectation: "Dad, today is the weekend, we agreed to go to the park together, you are not allowed to cheat!" Shen Qingchen pretended to be dizzy from his son's shaking, and begged for mercy with a smile: "Okay, okay, Dad will get up right away, no cheating."
The daughter climbed onto the bed obediently and snuggled up to Jiang Zhi. Her little hand gently stroked Jiang Zhi's cheek and said coquettishly, "Mom, I really want to taste the breakfast you made. I even dreamed about it last night." Jiang Zhi pinched her daughter's nose lovingly and said gently, "Little greedy cat, then mom will make it for you right away."
The family quickly rose, washed, and headed to the dining room. The table was already laden with Jiang Zhi's meticulously prepared breakfast: fluffy, delicious fried eggs, fragrant bacon, golden, crispy fried dough sticks, fresh fruit salad, and steaming hot milk. The children cheered and eagerly plopped down on their chairs to begin their feast.
Jiang Zhi looked at the children wolfing down their food, her eyes full of doting, and gently reminded them: "Eat slowly, don't choke." Shen Qingchen also smiled and handed the children tissues to wipe the food residue from the corners of their mouths. The family sat around the dining table, laughing and talking, and a warm atmosphere filled the whole room.
After breakfast, the sun became brighter, and it was a good time to go out and play. Jiang Zhi carefully put on sun hats for the children, while Shen Qingchen carried the prepared picnic basket in his hand, and the family walked towards the park, talking and laughing.
The park's scenery is breathtaking. The lush green lawn resembles a vast velvet carpet, and colorful flowers bloom in bursts, emitting bursts of fragrant aroma. A gentle breeze ripples the lake, shimmering like countless tiny diamonds.
As soon as the children entered the park, they ran away like wild horses. My daughter squatted by the flower bed, staring intently at a gorgeous rose, muttering, "Wow, this flower is so beautiful! Mommy, come and see it." Jiang Zhi walked over with a smile, squatted gently, and patiently explained the varieties and habits of roses to my daughter. My daughter listened with gusto, nodding from time to time.
The son showed great interest in a group of ducklings by the lake. He approached the lake cautiously, fearing to disturb the cute little creatures. Shen Qingchen followed behind his son and gently reminded him, "Son, stay away from the lake and be careful." The son turned around and made a face at his father, then replied, "Okay, Dad, I'll just take a look." The group of ducklings swam around on the water, sometimes diving into the water, sometimes surfacing, playing happily. The son's face was filled with an innocent smile, his eyes full of novelty and excitement.
Tired of playing, the family headed to the park's lawn, spread out their picnic blanket, and prepared to enjoy a leisurely picnic. Jiang Zhi took out the carefully prepared sandwiches, sushi, small cakes, and other delicacies from the picnic basket and placed them on the blanket. Chen Qingchen opened a bottle of juice and poured a glass for each child. The children sat on the blanket, savoring the delicious food while sharing interesting stories from school.
"Mom and Dad, our class had a painting competition last week, and I drew a picture of our family playing in the park. The teacher praised my work!" She pulled the drawing from her schoolbag and handed it to Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen. The painting showed a family holding hands, smiling broadly amidst flowers. Though the brushwork was a bit childish, it was filled with childlike innocence and love. Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen exchanged a touching glance, each praising their daughter's excellent work.
Not to be outdone, his son rushed to say, "I also have fun. Our school organized a science and technology invention competition. My classmates and I made a solar fan and won second prize!" Shen Qingchen smiled and touched his son's head, encouraging him, "Son, you are really amazing. You will definitely become a great inventor in the future."
The afternoon sun gradually grew lazier. After the family had eaten and drunk their fill, they lay on the picnic blanket, gazing at the azure sky and enjoying this moment of tranquility and comfort. Jiang Zhi rested her head on Shen Qingchen's arm, their hands tightly clasped together. The children played and amused each other. Occasionally, a few butterflies fluttered over and landed near them, as if drawn to the warm atmosphere.
Before they knew it, the sun had set, and the sky was dyed a brilliant orange-red, like a beautiful oil painting. Jiang Zhi sat up and said softly, "Children, it's time to go home, otherwise it will be difficult to leave after dark." Although the children were a little reluctant, they nodded obediently and stood up to help pack up the picnic items.
Back home, night had already quietly fallen. The family went into the kitchen, ready to cook a sumptuous dinner together. Jiang Zhi tied on an apron and began to wash and chop vegetables, while Shen Qingchen was in charge of cooking, and his son and daughter helped pass the seasonings and set the dishes.
