Chapter 26: The Wedding Date is Approaching
After the successful proposal, Shen Qingci and Gu Yanchen began the busy and sweet wedding preparations.
Instead of a luxurious hotel wedding, they decided to hold their wedding at the Evening Fragrance Tea House. This place holds so many memories for them, where their love began and was reborn. Holding a wedding here holds special meaning for them.
In order to make the wedding more unique, they decided to set the wedding theme as "Tea Language Wedding".
Choose a wedding dress
Over the weekend, Gu Yanchen accompanied Shen Qingci to a bridal shop to choose a wedding dress. Shen Qingci tried on several, but none of them satisfied her. Some were too ornate, not suiting her gentle temperament; others were too simple, looking a bit monotonous.
Just when she was feeling a little frustrated, Gu Yanchen pointed to a wedding dress hanging in the corner and said, "Qingci, try that one on."
Shen Qingci looked over and saw a simple floor-length wedding dress with faint jasmine patterns embroidered on the neckline and hem. The hem was also dotted with tiny pearls, making it look fresh, elegant, and exquisite.
When she put on her wedding dress and walked out of the fitting room, Gu Yanchen's eyes lit up instantly. He walked over and gently held her hand: "Qingci, you are so beautiful. This is the one I want."
Shen Qingci looked at herself in the mirror, then looked at Gu Yanchen's gentle eyes, smiled and nodded. She knew that this was the wedding dress she wanted.
Wedding candy
The wedding candy selection also took a lot of thought. They did not want to use ordinary chocolates and candies, but wanted to incorporate the element of tea.
Ultimately, they decided to order a custom batch of tea-flavored wedding candies. There were green tea nougat, black tea chocolate, and cookies made with Pu'er tea powder. Each piece was beautifully packaged, emblazoned with their wedding photos and the Wanxiang Tea House logo.
Writing invitations
They designed the invitation themselves. The cover, made of rice paper, featured a small ink painting depicting a corner of the "Wanxiang Tea House." Inside, the wedding date and location were written in calligraphy, along with the message: "We sincerely invite you to share a cup of tea and witness our happiness."
That evening, they sat in the teahouse, writing invitations together. Gu Yanchen's handwriting was vigorous and powerful, while Shen Qingci's was elegant and graceful. As they wrote, they chatted, occasionally smiling at each other, and the air was filled with the scent of happiness.
"Yan Chen, look, isn't our invitation very special?" Shen Qingci held up the written invitation and said with a smile.
Gu Yanchen put down his pen and hugged her from behind. "Yeah, it's very special. Just like our love, it's unique."
Prepare wedding tea
On the wedding day, they prepared a cup of specially brewed Heytea for each guest. This cup of Heytea was carefully blended by them, with a base of sweet jasmine tea, a small amount of honey and red dates added, symbolizing their sweet and prosperous marriage.
They also specially selected some exquisite small teacups, each of which was engraved with the word "tea".
As the wedding day drew near, the Evening Fragrance Teahouse was decked out in a new look. Red lanterns were hung at the entrance, large red "囍" characters were pasted on the windows, and the teahouse was filled with flowers and green plants.
Looking at the busy and warm scene before her, Shen Qingci leaned on Gu Yanchen's shoulder, her heart filled with anticipation. She knew that soon, she would be here, surrounded by the blessings of her family and friends, and become Gu Yanchen's wife.
Gu Yanchen hugged her tightly, his heart filled with gratitude. He thanked fate for letting him meet Shen Qingci, and thanked her for forgiving him and being willing to spend the rest of her life with him.
Their wedding will be a wedding filled with the fragrance of tea and a wedding full of love.
