(7 Fresh Coins) Chapter 12 (Part 1) Patience

Shao Yang knew that many people in the gay community treasured this handsome young man, but in his eyes, this annoying little guy, who was as irritating as a girl, couldn't even compare to one of his lover's fingers. Thinking of Lance, he was even more eager to go home and didn't want to spend another second on Merlin.

Si Qiang's previously gentle expression vanished instantly, her face darkening abruptly: "I will handle Merlin's matter."

Shao Yang was taken aback. Si Qiang was still with Xu Qi, which meant that they had been together last night… This thought instantly eased his agitated mood, and he softened his tone, saying, “Qiangwei, since he’s your brother, he should naturally be handed over to you. Could you… let him answer the phone?”

"..." Si Qiang was silent for a moment, then picked up the phone and put it to Xu Qi's ear, but her eyes were fixed on the other person.

Xu Qi looked at him, not quite understanding why the other person seemed so nervous. Then, he looked away and whispered into the phone, "What's wrong?"

"What do you plan to do?" Shao Yang heard that the person on the other end had changed. Although he knew that Si Qiang was right next to him, he didn't want to beat around the bush. Getting straight to the point was his style.

Xu Qi was taken aback by the question's immediate question and choked on his words, thinking, "As expected of A-Yang," he sighed inwardly. He subconsciously glanced at Si Qiang, only to find that she had already turned away, sitting on the edge of the bed with her back to him, but showing no intention of avoiding him. Of course, in a sense, this was something that greatly concerned Si Qiang, and it was understandable that he wanted to hear it. It would be strange if she simply left—although at this moment, Xu Qi desperately hoped that she would leave.

But reality is reality. If things were so easy to do as he wished, what would have been the point of all his struggles up to this point? Xu Qi sighed almost imperceptibly: "What do you want me to say?"

Shao Yang suddenly realized he had been overly optimistic. He gritted his teeth and asked, "If I said I hoped you would do what you truly wanted to do—not 'should,' but 'want,' would you do it?"

These words were too blunt. Xu Qi knew his cousin was always sharp, but given his condition today, receiving two such direct attacks in a row was somewhat of a struggle. Besides, "concern leads to confusion," and with Si Qiang beside him, the word "go back" that he originally intended to say felt like a ton of weight, impossible to utter.

However, even those two brief exchanges and the ensuing silence were enough for the man with his back to him to make a judgment and react. Si Qiang slowly turned to the side, supporting herself with one hand in front of him, without saying a word, her expression unusually calm, her back taut and straight.

Xu Qi reflexively wanted to back away, but found that the current situation did not allow it.

There was no way to retreat.

Taking a deep breath, Xu Qi quietly asked, "When can you resolve your issue? Mine will probably take quite a while." Hearing this, he suddenly felt a wave of relief.

His true feelings… there couldn’t be a more audacious decision. But after living for others for so many years, he suddenly felt that it might be okay to be selfish just this once. He had once thought he was destined to be without love, but now the opportunity to seize it was right in front of him—if he missed this chance, he wasn’t sure he would ever have another.

"Time...?" Si Qiang repeated blankly, her pupils shrinking sharply. "What do you mean?"

The expression on his delicate face gradually turned bewildered. Before the other person could answer, he suddenly lowered his head and approached the face of the man lying on the bed, covered the other person's mouth with his hand, and said in a low voice, "Don't shatter my hope so quickly... As long as there is even a sliver of hope, I can endure it... Please, let me endure it."

Xu Qi stared intently at him, her heart aching. Endure? How long had he already endured? If she continued to be ambiguous this time, would he continue to endure? And how long would he have to endure?

"Perhaps you really need to be more patient." He slowly turned his head to avoid the other person's suddenly stiffened hand, lowered his eyes and sighed, "Me too."

Before the other person could react, he continued, "Patience is necessary until we clear away those obstacles... but it might not be so difficult if the two of us are together."

The two of them…together? Si Qiang felt his brain short-circuit again. After a few stunned seconds, he finally realized what message the man's hoarse voice contained. Then, without hesitation, he pinched his arm hard, wincing in pain—this wasn't a dream!

The next second, he suddenly pounced on the bed, tightly embraced the man lying stiffly on the bed, and lowered his head to kiss him fiercely.
