(7 Fresh Coins) Chapter 13 (Part 1) The Traitor?
He had thought a lot about the possibility of meeting again. However, Xu Qi realized that his imagination was still too limited. When he walked into the hotel where someone was staying, the perfect couple standing before him made him freeze in place. The man standing next to the elegant socialite was more beautiful than the roses adorning the corner of the lobby.
"Mr. Xu, it's been a long time." Si Qiang spotted Xu Qi standing at the door at a glance. She walked towards him calmly, a dazzling smile on her beautiful face.
Xu Qi glanced coldly at the woman clinging to his arm, a fake smile tugging at the corner of his mouth: "Mr. Si rarely comes to New York, you seem to be in quite a good mood."
His words were clearly sarcastic, but Si Qiang didn't seem to care. She simply looked him up and down for a moment, then continued with a smile, "It seems Mr. Xu has something to do, so we won't bother you any longer. Perhaps you're free tonight? I'd like to visit you; you don't mind, do you?"
"Of course I'm free. I'll be waiting for you then." Xu Qi nodded in agreement, his smile seemingly made up. Even a fool could see that his words should be translated as "very unwelcome"—unfortunately, Si Qiang didn't see it, or rather, he pretended not to see it.
"Then see you tonight, Mr. Xu." Si Qiang's smile remained unchanged. She gave a polite bow and then brushed past Xu Qi.
Xu Qi couldn't help but turn around, watching the two disappear from his sight in an intimate manner. Slowly clenching his fists, he gritted his teeth, turned his head, and walked forward stiffly.
"You two are such scoundrels!" It's a very rude word, but just now he really wanted to throw those words in their faces. Suppressing his increasingly burning anger, he quickly walked to someone's room and knocked hard on the door.
The door opened quickly, and a man appeared behind it with a broad smile: "Aqi, you..." Then, as if he had been choked, he abruptly fell silent.
He noticed the expression on the man's face. He cautiously led him into the room, carefully observing his expression. To be honest, he'd known Xu Qi for quite some time, and this was the first time he'd seen him with such an expression. He had to admit, Xu Qi now looked more like a young master of the underworld than ever before. Uh… he looked like he wanted to kill someone.
Xu Qi strode heavily into the room, plopped down on the sofa, and remained silent with his head down.
"What's wrong with you?" The man sat down next to him, poured him a cup of tea, and finally asked.
Xu Qi was silent for a while, then suddenly asked in a low voice, "How's your intelligence coming along?" His voice sounded very calm, without the slightest hint of anything unusual.
"Hey, the more you act like this, the scarier it gets, okay?" The man stared at his ashen face, thought for a moment, and then replied, "A mole."
"Of course it's an inside man." Xu Qi looked up at him, slowly exhaling, "Anything else?"
The man snorted, "Didn't you already know? Why are you asking me?" Xu Qi's reaction made him feel like... all his efforts had been wasted. Shouldn't he have played along and pretended to be surprised? Oh well, this guy's in a bad mood, so he'll forgive him—although even when he's in a good mood, he's never played along with him.
“I need your confirmation,” Xu Qi explained briefly. “And with the ‘princess’ helping us with the outside issues, things will naturally be easier.”
"I told you, you're not allowed to call me that name!" The man's thin eyebrows furrowed tightly as he gritted his teeth. "My name is Ji Ruofei!"
Xu Qi glanced at him and decided to change the subject for the time being: "Ming Feng ran away again?" This guy's nickname is "Princess," not only because of his suggestive name, but also because of his princess-like appearance—simply put, he has a woman's face.
Ji Ruofei hated being called that, and he would always beat the person who called him that half to death. But he was helpless against someone like Xu Qi, because he knew that Xu Qi only called him that because he thought his real name was too hard to pronounce. He waved his hand: "It's okay, he can't escape. I'll give you the information."
After taking the documents, Xu Qi quickly took his leave. Seeing his haste, Ji Ruofei didn't try to stop him, only asking him to let her know if he received any news from Ming Feng, as that would be much faster than investigating himself. Ming Feng could run around everywhere to avoid him, but he couldn't hide his whereabouts from his boss. He smiled happily, his little puppy always misbehaving; this game of cat and mouse was truly quite amusing.
The information displayed on the screen wasn't much, but it was enough for Xu Qi to sit quietly in front of the computer for a long time. He only realized what was happening when the doorbell rang; he turned off the computer and stuffed the documents into a drawer.
