Immediately, Lin Jiaorui glanced at Lin Qingtong out of the corner of her eye, and suddenly felt a little smug.
Even if Lin Qingtong is Su Qian, so what?
She was the one who stole her identity; she didn't deserve these things, they should all belong to her.
...
Soon, Lin Jiaorui successfully started working in the design department of Shen's Group, while Lin Qingtong continued to follow Shen He around.
That day, Lin Qingtong was drinking coffee on the rooftop as usual when Qiao Jing came to his side.
Qiao Jing, wearing black-rimmed glasses, looked timidly at Lin Qingtong and whispered a reminder.
"There have been rumors circulating about you in the company recently."
Lin Qingtong was taken aback, tilting her head slightly to look curiously at Qiao Jing.
"What rumor?"
Qiao Jing sat down next to Lin Qingtong, her face flushed and gesturing excitedly.
"Some people say you are an illegitimate child, that you stole your sister's boyfriend when you were in school, that you hurt your sister and caused her to lose the opportunity to compete in a piano competition, and that after you got married you forced your husband to go abroad and became someone else's mistress."
After she finished speaking, she stared nervously at Lin Qingtong.
Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong immediately understood. Her gaze turned cold, and a faint smile curved her red lips.
"It's alright, these are just rumors. Besides, I know who spread them."
These things did happen, but not to her.
It was Lin Jiaorui.
Lin Qingtong smiled gratefully at Qiao Jing and took out her phone to add her as a contact.
"You can come to me if you need anything."
Upon hearing Lin Qingtong's words, Qiao Jing gripped her phone tightly and gave a timid smile.
"Don't worry, I won't bother you easily."
After Qiao Jing left, Lin Qingtong leisurely finished her iced coffee, gave a cold laugh, and walked straight to the design department in her high heels.
Wherever she went, countless eyes followed her, but without exception, they were all filled with malice and hostility.
Some people even discussed it directly in front of her.
"Isn't that Lin Qingtong? She's married but still a mistress. Her husband must be really pathetic, having a wife like that. He's completely disgraced."
Lin Qingtong didn't even glance at those people. She kicked open the office door, a smile playing on her lips, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Lin Jiaorui".
She simply called out, and her graceful and beautiful figure stood at the doorway, like a queen with an aura of power. Her red lips and black hair were enough to inspire awe.
Lin Jiaorui sat there with her arms crossed, slowly turning her chair, a mocking smile on her lips.
"Sister, you're here because of rumors, aren't you? If you want to blame me, you'll have to provide evidence."
Lin Qingtong curled her lips into a cold smile, approaching step by step, her aura surging forth.
"I never said it was a rumor. You're just admitting it yourself. Are you feeling guilty?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Jiaorui's expression froze, and she almost ground her teeth to powder.
Lin Qingtong, that cunning and treacherous woman, is deliberately trying to embarrass me. Does she think she's happy if I'm miserable?!
The employees outside all craned their necks to watch the spectacle, taking in the whole scene.
Lin Jiaorui felt she had lost face, so she stood up and accused him with tears in her eyes.
"Sister, don't push your luck! Do you believe I'll tell Wan Jun's mother?"
Lin Qingtong's slender, green fingers braced against the desk, her alluring eyes filled with coldness as she asked in a low voice.
"Tell me, when you were eighteen, you were a mistress and got beaten up in the street. Can you still find photos and videos of that incident online now?"
"I advise you to behave yourself, or don't blame me for printing out a whole page and sticking it on the wall to make your name known."
Lin Jiaorui clenched her fists, gritted her teeth, and questioned in a low voice.
"Lin Qingtong, if you dare to say it, I'll tell Wanjun's mother what you're really up to!!"
Lin Qingtong looked at her indifferently, crossed her arms and smiled.
"Since you want to put on an act, then I'll play along to the end. But if you try anything underhanded, don't blame me for saying things I shouldn't."
"Now, apologize first and clarify that those rumors were not about me."
Lin Qingtong wasn't particularly angry about the rumors; she just felt she shouldn't take the blame for Lin Jiaorui.
After all, she was the one who did these things.
Upon hearing this, Lin Jiaorui glanced at the gossiping employees at the door, then looked at Lin Qingtong. She could still tell whether it was an apology or a complete loss of reputation.
With no other option, Lin Jiaorui walked around the desk to the doorway and announced loudly to everyone.
"Regarding the recent rumors about my sister Lin Qingtong, I would like to clarify here that they are all untrue. I hope everyone will remain rational and not cause any misunderstandings about my sister."
After saying this, Lin Jiaorui turned to look at Lin Qingtong, her eyes dark and questioning.
"Sister, are you satisfied now?"
Lin Qingtong leaned back there lazily, her stunning beauty as captivating as a painting, and slowly uttered a sentence.
"That's more like it. I hope there won't be a next time."
With that, Lin Qingtong smiled charmingly, patted Lin Jiaorui's shoulder, and walked away gracefully in her high heels.
After Lin Qingtong left, Lin Jiaorui covered her face and squatted on the ground, crying bitterly. Li Feifei, an employee, stepped forward to defend her.
"Jiaorui, what's wrong with you? Why do you, her younger sister, have to clarify her own rumors?"
Lin Jiaorui looked up with red eyes and gave a poignant smile.
"It's okay, I'm used to it. It's always been like this since I was little. My sister is actually a very good person, but sometimes she does things that are a bit muddled."
Her ambiguous words seemed to confirm the rumors, since people are more willing to believe the weak.
