End-of-Month Summary

End-of-Month Summary

I felt good today and wrote a little more.

Here's a report on the results: 100,000 favorites, 9,500 average subscriptions, 24,000+ high-level subscriptions, and the subscription-to-collection ratio (first chapter subscriptions) is still 4:1. We haven't reached 10,000 subscriptions by the end of the month; we'll have to wait until June.

I saw many readers criticizing me in the comments section, while others defended me.

First, I want to express my gratitude. Second, I welcome everyone's praise, but please don't argue with other readers to defend me.

Whether it's well-written or not, to be honest, I accept it all. I'll absorb and adjust what I can at this stage. As for criticisms that I feel are wrong at this stage, I won't take them to heart or listen to them.

I know exactly what kind of "style" of story I want to write, so I don't need to worry about the comments affecting me.

Then, I will indeed delete comments. There are many reasons for deleting comments, but in the end, it all boils down to one sentence—I don't think it sounds good, or it's not right, or it's not objective, and it will affect the possibility of new readers trying to read the book—well, basically it's because of such a utilitarian thought.

Of course, some reviews contained a lot of negative content, but I think they were very accurate and reflected the actual situation of the book. I felt that leaving them there would allow readers who couldn't accept these points to avoid the book in advance, so I kept them. There was no careful thought involved; it was just a judgment made based on my feelings the moment I saw the reviews.

In addition, I generally don't ban people unless it escalates to personal attacks, but thankfully, people mostly just criticize my writing for being bad, without going to the level of personal attacks.

I still prefer the approach of "let everyone say what they want, and I'll delete what I don't like," rather than silencing people. Therefore, so far, I haven't banned anyone. Those in the comments section who say I've banned people are truly wronged.

It's already over two million words long. Should I just finish it for the sake of finishing it? Or should I keep writing as I feel like it? I think I'll choose the latter. A reader was right: this book is about people, and the plot isn't quite as tightly woven or logically progressive. When I read that, I thought it was spot on, so I started making some plot outlines and drafts.

To be honest, as I've written this book, I've basically been writing as I go, without an outline, only occasionally jotting down keywords for the plot. Thankfully, I have a pretty good memory, so I generally know what I've written, and as I write, I'm gradually figuring out what to write next. It's true that I've been writing a bit haphazardly, just letting my thoughts wander. I'm trying my best to adjust and correct this.

That's all. I was incredibly busy in May, only taking one day off, but otherwise I managed to keep up with daily updates. I'll continue in June.
