Chapter 5 I'll Wait for You

Time passed quickly, and Yan Cuo went to and from school as usual, as if nothing had changed. If there was anything different, it was that he hadn't seen Yu Muyang since that day.

A young girl's heart is always sensitive and fragile. She looked towards that intersection countless times, but there was no sign of that familiar figure. The little hope in her heart was like a stone dropped into a deep lake, silent except for a small ripple.

Summer was gradually approaching in Ancheng, and the days were getting hotter and hotter. The third year of junior high school had already entered a period of hardship, and Yancuo had never seen him again, only occasionally hearing about him from his classmates.

I heard that his grades have been very stable and his teacher plans to get him admitted to a high school with strict scores.

Yan Cuo was silent. "Admission? That's fantastic. Such an outstanding person deserves the best." As for me, I should work harder and stand on the same level as him, even if it's just to watch him.

The morning class was over, and Yan Cuo was about to open his book to review the next lesson when Su He suddenly approached cautiously, "Yan Cuo, Yan Cuo, you know, I heard that a senior in the third grade confessed to Yu Muyang on the spot. Do you want to go and see? It's a big sensation in the third grade right now."

Yan Cuo's face paled when he heard this. Did he confess? Of course, such a beautiful person must have many suitors. So who am I?

Seeing Yan Cuo didn't say anything for a long time, Su He became anxious and pulled her up and ran, "Why are you daydreaming? Let's go and take a look. I really want to know the result."

Yan Cuo was pulled up by Su He and ran out. At this moment, the junior high school teaching building was already crowded with people, all pushing forward to go in.

Su He led Yan Cuo around and finally found a seat near the front. Yan Cuo saw him. After not seeing each other for such a long time, he seemed a little different at the moment. He no longer had a faint smile, and his long eyelashes drooped, as if he was a little helpless.

The girl's eyes were red at this moment, "Why, am I not pretty enough? I have liked you for a long time, can't you give me a chance?" Yu Muyang said helplessly: "I'm sorry, I'm not thinking about this now, let's focus on studying."

The girl's eyes turned red, and she turned and ran away. Yu Muyang was still standing there, his face expressionless. Yan Cuo looked at him, and suddenly saw him looking down at her, staring at her intently, which made Yan Cuo panic, and he looked away.

The bell rang and the crowd gradually dispersed. Today's confession was like a farce, becoming a joke for everyone when they were bored.

Yan Cuo couldn't help but think about Yu Muyang's eyes. Why was he looking at him like that? After thinking for a long time, Yan Cuo shook his head and suppressed the little hope in his heart. He couldn't think about it anymore. It was definitely not what he thought.

Soon, there was only a month left until the high school entrance exam. The third year of junior high school was under full martial law, and all extracurricular activities were cancelled.

Yancuo wanted to go see him, to see what he was doing, but he didn't dare. Every time he walked to the third grade teaching building, he would hesitate.

Later, I heard that Yu Muyang refused the recommendation and stayed to take the high school entrance exam with his classmates in the third grade. I heard that his grades were always in the top ten in the city, and that he was becoming more and more outstanding.

The day of the high school entrance examination finally arrived. The first and second year students were on vacation, and the school became a test site.

That day, Yancuo went out early and waited at the intersection in front of the school. She knew that today was an important day for Yu Muyang, and since she couldn't go, she would just stay here and silently cheer him on.

I hope he can perform normally and get a good score.

The school gate was packed with people, many parents anxiously waiting. The summer sun was particularly scorching, and Yancuo, without an umbrella, found a shady spot to wait.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the exam that would determine the fate of the third-year students. Yan Cuo's palms were covered in sweat, and he felt a surge of anticipation. He was there, working toward the same dream as theirs, and a tinge of joy welled up inside him.

With the ringing of a bell, the first day of the exam ended. Yan Cuo watched as many students came out, some with excitement on their faces, while others were filled with regret.

Yan Cuo was a little afraid of this exam, because after this exam, he would leave here, and it would be too difficult to meet again in the future.

From a distance, she watched Yu Muyang walk out, his face brimming with confidence, thinking he must have done well in the exam. He also saw her and strode over. "Why are you here? Are you here to see me?"

"Yeah, how did you do on the test?" Yu Muyang looked at her and smiled, "Very good, there should be no problem with the Yan score. By the way, are you still reading the notes I gave you before? Has your English improved now?" Yan Cuo looked at him excitedly, "Yes, I have. I got over 90 points in English now. The teacher said I have made great progress. Your notes are very detailed, and I have gained a lot from reading them. Thank you."

He said nothing, just looked at her quietly, "It's okay, I said I'll wait for you at Yanfen, you have to come." Yancuo nodded excitedly, his eyes curved with a smile. "By the way, didn't your parents come to pick you up? You have such good grades, they must be very happy."

"They are all out of town and don't have time to come back." "Oh, then shall we go back together?" "Well, let's go." The two walked one after the other, surrounded by familiar scenes, the still green trees, the still scorching sun, everything was the same as when she first came to Ancheng, no, different, the only difference was that there was one more person.

Yan Cuo thought for a moment, then suddenly ran up and walked with him. In the dusk of Ancheng, two figures walked along a short road, each with their own thoughts.

The two parted at the intersection in front of Yancuo's house. Yancuo encouraged him: "Come on, you can do it!" He said nothing, just looked at him.
