Chapter 29 Lunch

Chapter 29 Lunch

Han Que had apparently been standing at the door for a while and heard the conversation between him and Jiang Jin.

The expression on her face was a little subtle, a bit sarcastic and a bit surprised. For a moment, Gu Ningwei felt that he could not understand her thoughts.

He pretended not to see it. Still smiling, "Why are you back? Have you finished your work? I think it's getting late. Let's go eat."

Han restrained his smile and said, "Boss Gu, I have other matters to report to Boss Jiang, so I won't have lunch with you."

Gu Ningwei frowned, "What could be more important than eating? Let's talk about it after we come back from dinner."

Han shook his head, still smiling, "I haven't gotten off work yet. It's working time now."

Gu Ningwei frowned again and stood at the door without saying a word.

Jiang Jin heard everything clearly from inside. He walked to the door and waved to Han Que, "Come in if you have anything to say!" He then invited Gu Ningwei, "How about Mr. Gu come and listen too?"

Gu Ningwei frowned slightly and shook his head. "I won't listen. This is your job scope. I'll wait outside."

Han walked past Gu Ningwei with his notebook in his arms, said, "Excuse me," and without even looking at his expression, entered Jiang Jin's office and closed the door.

Gu Ningwei was almost hit by the door. He snorted, shrugged his shoulders, walked to Han Que's workstation, sat down casually, took out his mobile phone and started playing games.

"You mean Chunyi Company might want to return the goods? How much inventory do they have left? What's the exact number?"

Han placed the data table he had compiled on his desk.

Jiang Jin picked up the piece of paper, glanced through it, and frowned.

"So many?" He asked again: "Why? What's the reason for the return?"

"The reason is naturally because of me." Han Que said.

Jiang Jin frowned and glanced at her.

Han continued, "The reason we were able to work with Chunyi before was mainly because of an introduction from my boyfriend, who is Mr. Xu Chun's godson. Now that our relationship has deteriorated, Mr. Xu Chun might ask for a refund and might not work with us again in the future."

"Your boyfriend?" Jiang Jin looked at her with a half-smile on his face.

Han nodded calmly and continued, "This matter is indeed my fault. I took a shortcut for convenience and used my boyfriend's personal relationship with the purchasing manager to bypass their company's normal purchasing process. Now it has caused trouble for their purchasing department and Manager Chen. Everyone at the top is dissatisfied, and I think Chunyi Company may no longer cooperate with us."

She raised her eyes and looked at Jiang Jin. "I'm reporting this to you to make my position clear. This incident was caused by me, and the responsibility lies with me. My bonus will be deducted when the time comes, and I will accept any punishment required according to company regulations. However, Yu Xiaoli has nothing to do with this matter. Please give her a break and don't confuse her."

Jiang Jin tapped his fingers on the table after hearing this. He pondered for a long time before saying with a mocking smile, "Han Que, I didn't expect your love life to be so colorful."

Han was stunned. She didn't expect Jiang Jin's focus to be on this aspect.

She avoided his gaze and said calmly, "My personal life doesn't seem to have anything to do with work."

Jiang Jin laughed. "Is it irrelevant?" He tapped the data table on the table and continued to tease, "Is it irrelevant? It's because of your love life that the company's performance has been affected."

Han was speechless for a moment.

Jiang Jin continued to laugh and said, "I was just criticized by Mr. Gu for not caring enough about the employees."

He laughed at himself slightly, then leaned over and said to Han Que, staring at her charming face: "This is the first time I've been criticized by my leader, and it's because of you. You really have someone protecting you."

He has always been proud and self-disciplined, and he was indeed unhappy about being taught a lesson by his boss. Moreover, in just a few hours, Gu Ningwei had already taught him a lesson several times.

The more Jiang Jin thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt. He taunted her even more, "After all these years, you've really changed a lot. I'm impressed by you."

Seeing this, Han knew she couldn't communicate with him normally. She stood up and said to Jiang Jin, "I've finished my report. If there's nothing else, I'll leave."

Jiang Jin smiled and said, "Hurry up and don't make anyone wait outside anxiously. I'll get criticized again."

Han curled his lips and sneered, "Boss Jiang's jealousy is inexplicable. If I didn't know you, I would have thought you had rekindled your old feelings for me."

Jiang Jin's face suddenly stiffened.

Gu Ningwei and Han Que were sitting at their workstations, casually spinning their swivel chairs, their long legs crossed, looking at their mobile phone screens in a relaxed manner, ignoring the glances from those around them.

The employees in the same office didn't dare to breathe, they lowered their heads, faced the computer, pretending to be busy at work, but in fact, in the private small group, chat messages were flying.

"This is the young master of the Gu family, the young master of the Chengguang Group. He doesn't come from an ordinary wealthy family."

"He looks much better in person than in the photo."

"Is he waiting for Han Que? Could it be that Han Que has hooked up with this person? That's why he wants to transfer Gao Ye to another place..."

"Come on, have you read too many domineering CEO novels? So what if she hooked up with Mr. Gu? Can she really marry into a wealthy family and achieve a class transition? At most, she is just a spice in his love life. In the end, she will still be dumped like a pile of snot."

"I'm afraid there won't even be any feelings left, just sex..."

“Hahahahahahaha.”

"That's right, that's right."

The small group was filled with expressions of approval, neatly arranged.

Working days are too boring, and the cows and horses really need to have some fun.

Who asked Mr. Gu to be so high-profile, running to the office to pick up girls, playing up his domineering personality? And who asked Han Que to look so much like the heroine of a domineering novel. It's hard not to be tempted by it.

Han Que came out of Jiangjin's office with her cell phone vibrating continuously in her hand. She looked at the chat screenshots sent to her by Yu Xiaoli and frowned.

Gu Ningwei raised his head and looked up at her, with a slight smile on his lips: "Have you finished the report?"

Han nodded.

"Can we go eat now?"

Han looked at his noble and elegant face and the sparkling light in his eyes, and suddenly wondered why he was being so pretentious. Having lunch with such a passionate, wealthy and elegant young man was definitely a pleasant thing.

Amidst the many surprised, teasing, and questioning looks, Han picked up the canvas bag on the table and smiled at Gu Ningwei, "Let's go. Let's go eat."

Han had never been into the five-star luxury hotel next to the office building.

She knew she couldn't afford it, and she never longed for it.

Sometimes Han Que would wonder, am I a vain, gold-digger? It seems not.

If fate had not been too harsh on her, she would have enjoyed life.

Gu Ningwei pushed open the revolving door for her in a gentlemanly manner and stepped aside to let her go in first.

Han stood at the door, hesitating, waiting quietly for him to catch up slowly and calmly.

It turns out that this star-rated hotel is not as magnificent as imagined. Perhaps because it was designed by a famous designer, the lobby entrance exudes elegance and low-key luxury.

The lobby manager, dressed in black, spotted Gu Ningwei from afar and immediately trotted over to greet him. "Hello, Mr. Gu." He glanced at Han Que standing beside him and asked politely, "How can we help you?"

Gu Ningwei raised his chin and pointed towards the elevator, "You guys are busy, I'll go to the restaurant to eat..."

The lobby manager nodded and immediately used the headset to notify the restaurant upstairs, "Mr. Gu is here, please greet him."

Han followed Gu Ningwei and waited for the elevator. She thought for a moment and asked, "Is this hotel also an asset of your Gu family?"

Gu Ningwei glanced at it with lowered eyebrows and nodded, "It's managed by the real estate department. I won't be involved."

Although it was not obvious, Han still saw his wariness and smiled to himself.

Gu Ningwei was completely unaware. He asked curiously, "What are you laughing at?"

Han shook his head and said it was nothing.

Seeing that she didn't answer, Gu Ningwei didn't ask any further questions. He put his hands in his pockets and took her to the elevator. There was a lobby staff in a black suit waiting at the door. When he saw them coming, he pressed the elevator button in time.

The two of them went upstairs to the top floor. Sure enough, there were rows of people waiting for a table at the entrance of the restaurant. Gu Ningwei said to Han, "Well, I didn't lie to you, did I? You have to wait for a table if you want to eat."

Han curled his lips and said, "You don't need it."

Gu Ningwei chuckled and shook his head secretly. The restaurant manager who was waiting at the door immediately came over and asked for his opinion, "Mr. Gu, how about we go to your usual private room?"

Han saw on his badge: "Tao Cheng."

Gu Ningwei nodded, "Is it free? If it is, then go."

Manager Tao smiled and said, "I've kept them all for you."

Gu Ningwei had no choice but to follow Manager Tao and quickly walk through the waiting crowd.

Manager Tao asked as they walked: "What about the dishes..."

Gu Ningwei said nonchalantly: "You decide. Keep it light."

The private room was not big and was elegantly decorated. There was an abstract oil painting hanging on the white wall, but Han couldn't understand it. He just felt that it was a mess of lavender and white paint.

Han stared at the signature written in a flamboyant style below the painting: "He Lian".

She remembered this name; it was Gu Ningwei's childhood sweetheart whom Jiang Jin had just mentioned.

Gu Ningwei followed her gaze and glanced at the wall. He said nonchalantly, "This is a painting by a friend of mine. I heard it's worth quite a bit of money now, so she insisted on giving it to me. I had no place to hang it, so I hung it in the private room."

Han sat down and pushed open half of the window.

Looking out from this private room, you can see the river view. At this moment, it is noon, the sun shines on the river, the waves are sparkling, and the river is vast and clear. There are dotted sails in the distance, and beautiful mountains in the distance, with green peaks.

The strong river breeze blew her curly hair, making her feel refreshed.

"The scenery here is nice." She admired sincerely, and confirmed again in her heart the benefits of being rich.

"Yes, it's not bad, but next time I'll take you to a seaside restaurant built next to a cliff. The scenery there is a hundred times more beautiful than this." Gu Ningwei said while ordering food.

Han smiled.

Gu Ningwei raised his eyes to look at her and asked again, "What are you laughing at?"

Han pursed his lips, looked up at him, and asked with a smile: "Mr. Gu, I have a question I want to ask you."

Gu Ningwei nodded, "Ask."

"I don't quite understand. Mr. Gu, you're openly interacting with me in your own company. It's inappropriate both publicly and privately. What's your purpose in doing this? Are you using me to make your position clear to certain people?"

Gu Ningwei put down the menu, propped up his chin with his hand, and looked at her approvingly, "You are indeed a smart person. You can guess what I am thinking."

Han pursed his lips.

Sure enough, rich people really like to use everything to their advantage.

But Gu Ningwei added, "But you only guessed one aspect, not the whole thing."
