Chapter 11 Hospitalization

I had just come out of a ward when I saw two elderly women carrying water bottles coming from around the corner.

"Hey, your family member looks much better. They should be discharged in a couple of days, right?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty much thinking about going back. Staying here all this time is too expensive."

"That's right. We've stayed here for six days and already spent over fifty yuan. If we stay a few more days, our whole family's monthly salary will be gone."

"Who can argue with that?"

Tang Yue did the math in her head: six days would cost over fifty yuan, so five days would cost at least forty yuan. She smacked her lips; that was half of her family's fortune.

She followed the two older women forward; she had to go and see, perhaps their patient's condition was more serious.

Upon closer inspection, she overheard people nearby saying that it seemed to be an appendectomy. Tang Yue didn't understand what the appendix was. However, the severity of the condition was probably similar to her father's. Tang Yue understood.

When they returned to the ward, Tang Shengkai had already woken up and was visibly relieved to see Tang Yue and the others.

Tang Shengkai smiled at Tang Yue, "Yueyue, come here quickly. Where have you been so early in the morning?"

Tang Yue leaned against Tang Shengkai and asked, "Dad, are you feeling better? I just want to see what illnesses everyone has."

Tang Shengkai tried to lift her onto the bed, but after two attempts, he still couldn't manage it. Lin Cuicui picked up Tang Yue and placed her in Tang Shengkai's arms.

Tang Shengkai gently asked, "Is Yueyue feeling unwell anywhere? The doctor will come and check on her later, okay? This place isn't like home; where can Yueyue go to call her brothers?"

Tang Yue shook her head and then nodded. "Dad, I'm all better now. I don't feel uncomfortable anywhere. Really, I don't need to see a doctor anymore."

She wrinkled her little nose as she spoke, "The medicine the doctor prescribed tasted awful. Yueyue is better now, she doesn't need to take medicine anymore. Yueyue will go out with her brothers from now on."

Lin Cuicui handed a steamed bun to Tang Yue, saying, "Are you hungry? Eat up."

Seeing her brothers eating cornbread cakes while she and her father ate white steamed buns, Tang Yue felt increasingly resentful. But these buns smelled so good; she really couldn't resist!

Yes, making money, I must think of a way to make money as soon as possible. No, I must clear all the blockages in my body tonight, I need to get better quickly so I can make money.

Lin Cuicui bought five steamed buns and two corn cakes for Old Li, and arranged to come pick them up at noon four days later to return to the village. After that, she saw Old Li off.

Lin Cuicui originally wanted Tang Bei and the others to go back with her, but she was worried about the two unreliable relatives in her family. In addition, Tang Yue wouldn't let them leave either, so she kept them behind.

Over the next few days, Tang Yue finally managed to clear the blockages in her body in two days, and then began her attempt to break through to the first level of Qi Refining. However, the spiritual energy here was pitifully scarce, and Tang Yue always felt that something was missing.

Today, her father is being discharged from the hospital, and she saw Li Mingxuan again, who had come for a follow-up examination. After the examination, Li Mingxuan felt that the inflammation had subsided well, but it would be better if he stayed a few more days. However, he knew that it would be useless to persuade him otherwise.

"Hmm, you're recovering well. Prescribe some more medicine to take home."

"No need for the doctor, I feel fine as I am now. I don't need to take any more medicine. That stuff is too bitter."

Tang Shengkai looked at Li Mingxuan with a smile, and Li Mingxuan did not insist any further.

"Okay, then you can go home after you finish the discharge procedures."

"Oh, thank you, Dr. Li."

Lin Cuicui thanked her happily.

Li Mingxuan walked out of the ward, and Tang Yue jogged after him. Noticing someone following him, Li Mingxuan turned around and saw Tang Yue. He smiled and squatted down.

He hasn't come to the ward these past two days. How come this little girl doesn't look so gaunt after not seeing her for a few days? She looks more lively and vibrant.

"Little girl, is something wrong?"
