Chapter 11 Hospitalization

Li Mingxuan took a deep breath and walked over. Tang Bei and the others had already stepped out of their father's arms, and all six pairs of eyes turned to look at Li Mingxuan.

"Little girl, I can't cure your father's leg."

"What?"

How could that be?

"Isn't this a hospital?"

"No, please, please treat my father!"

Several people gasped in surprise inside the room.

Tang Yue remained calm. Tang Shengkai's condition had likely been dragging on for a long time, but it shouldn't be incurable. Shouldn't a few medications be enough to cure him?

Tang Yue didn't speak, her big eyes fixed on Li Mingxuan.

Li Mingxuan walked up to Tang Shengkai, pulled back the blanket covering his legs, and pointed to the injury.

"Your father was shot in the thigh. You brought him in too late; the bullet has now fused with the bone in his thigh. We don't have the technology to remove it."

Tang Yue knew that her father had been shot in the leg with something called a bullet. But she had never seen such a thing before, though she understood what Li Mingxuan meant.

Lin Cuicui's face was as white as paper, and Tang Bei and the others were also in despair, constantly shedding tears.

Tang Shengkai quickly replied, "No, it's not as serious as the doctor said."

He tugged at Lin Cuicui's hand and then quickly let go, pulling his sons to his side. Tang Yue was a little further away, and Tang Shengkai waved to her.

Tang Yue moved closer and said, "The doctor just told Dad that he'll be walking with a limp from now on. Do you mind if he limps a little?

Everyone's eyes lit up again. Tang Bei's first words upon arriving at the hospital were, "My dad... he won't die?"

He looked at Li Mingxuan expectantly, seeking affirmation, yet also fearful of hearing a bad outcome.

Li Mingxuan nodded solemnly, "Apart from the most serious injury on my thigh, the other injuries can heal with time. Right now, the inflammation all over my body is too severe. Once the inflammation subsides, everything will be fine."

Lin Cuicui breathed a huge sigh of relief, the three Tang brothers jumped for joy, and Tang Shengkai was also overjoyed.

"Look, the doctor said Dad is fine now. Let's go home."

"no."

Li Mingxuan was adamant: "Your condition requires hospitalization and intravenous infusion; you cannot go home now."

Tang Shengkai shook his head. "Doctor, I'm really not as serious as you say. I'll just go home and take some medicine."

Just as Li Mingxuan opened his mouth, Tang Yue's soft, sweet voice came from behind him.

“Dad is being disobedient, and we’re all terrified of him. Let Dad go to the hospital. We have money.”

Tang Shengkai felt a pang of heartache seeing the tears welling up in his little girl's eyes, but money? Where would they get any?

"It really is the boss. Waaah, why don't you say that you got this injury while fighting the Japanese?"

Tang Shengkai was startled, and Tang Dong quickly said, "This morning, the brigade leader brought two county officials to our house. They said Dad killed a Japanese spy and is a hero."

They gave Dad a certificate and an 80 yuan bonus. "Dad, we really have money, please get treatment."

Li Mingxuan never expected that the stubborn man in front of him was injured while killing a spy. He could tell about the family's situation by looking at their clothes and what they were saying.

"You need to be hospitalized. The IV drip won't cost much. In five days, your inflammation will basically subside. It will only cost ten yuan in total."

Tang Shengkai was somewhat tempted after hearing this. If it could be cured for 10 yuan, it shouldn't be impossible. He had already spent more than 10 yuan to see a doctor in town.

He looked at Lin Cuicui, who was even more surprised that it was so cheap. She nodded excitedly, "Yes, we'll stay."

Li Mingxuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Tang Yue looked at Li Mingxuan suspiciously, feeling that he wasn't telling the truth. She was grateful to him for doing it for her father's sake.

It was already past midnight when the hospital admission procedures were completed. There were quite a few people in the ward. Since there were many people in their family, only Lin Cuicui was left to take care of Tang Shengkai. The children followed Old Li and made up a makeshift bed on the floor in the hallway with the blankets from home.

They arrived late, so they didn't let Old Li walk back alone in the dark. They decided to spend the night there and go back tomorrow.

Tang Yue lay in bed quietly cultivating. She felt that the spiritual energy here was thinner, but it was probably because she had become proficient and her body had adapted to this breathing technique. As a result, she absorbed spiritual energy faster.

Tang Yue was very happy. She felt that this body seemed to have much better aptitude than her original body.

Overnight, Tang Yueyun cleared three blocked areas. Upon closer examination, it was found that there were still six blocked areas in her body. Once these were cleared, she would be no different from a normal child and would no longer be a burden on her family.

Even before dawn, family members were already moving about in the corridor. Tang Yue stopped cultivating, and Tang Bei and the others also got up. They tidied up the bedding and put it back under Tang Shengkai's bed.

Tang Shengkai had been on an IV drip all night and was now fast asleep. Lin Cuicui came out to check on the children. "You guys keep an eye on your dad. I'm going out to buy some food."

They arrived last night and were busy with the surgery, they didn't even have time to eat. Their family is fine, but they still troubled Uncle Li.

Tang Yue wanted to go with them, but Lin Cuicui wouldn't let her. She wasn't familiar with the area and was afraid of losing the child.

Perhaps because Tang Shengkai's illness had improved, Lin Cuicui felt a great weight lifted from her heart, and she appeared much more cheerful and outgoing. She also moved around less awkwardly than yesterday.

Tang Yue felt much more at ease and didn't follow her anymore. She wandered around the various wards, inquiring about the cost of a normal five-day hospital stay.

Li Mingxuan clearly knew that their family was too poor to afford medical treatment and was pitying them, but having received their favor, he couldn't just leave it unrequited.
