Liu Ting couldn't believe her ears. Yet, those words came from her own son's mouth, one word at a time.
Tang Yue stared at Liu Ting's swaying body, her heart filled with anger, but even more so with a desire to expose these people's true colors. After all, Old Master Ke would return one day, and she didn't want her beloved elder to be exploited by these people again upon his return. That would disgust her to death.
What Liu Ting didn't know was that after they left, before Ke Qiangbang could even roll over and pin Li Ruyun down, their eldest son, Ke Shunyi, couldn't hold back any longer and yelled at his parents.
"Mom and Dad, are you even human?!"
Li Ruyun and Ke Qiangbang were jolted awake; their fleeting romantic thoughts vanished instantly. Ke Shunyi's voice, however, was quite loud, and several people heard it.
Li Ruyun quickly sat up. "Shunyi, what are you doing? Are you having a sleep disorder? Wake up!" Li Ruyun raised her voice, trying to convince the neighbors that the child was having a bad dream.
"I didn't..."
"Shut up!"
Li Ruyun's voice wasn't loud, but it was extremely authoritative. Then she lowered her voice, "Shunyi, why are you eavesdropping on my conversation with your father so late at night?"
Li Shunyi lay down on her bed in the room and said, "Mom and Dad, I never thought you were this kind of people."
Li Ruyun was even angrier than him. She had already put on her shoes and entered Ke Shunyi's room. "What kind of person am I? Huh? Tell me, what kind of person am I? Who am I doing all this for? Huh? Tell me, who am I doing this for?"
"Wasn't I doing this for you all? Wasn't I just trying to make sure you all had enough to eat? What did I do wrong? Huh?"
Ke Shunyi wanted to say that they were ungrateful, ambitious, and shameless. However, these were his parents, and he couldn't bring himself to say such things. But Ke Shunyi wasn't prepared to compromise like that.
"Mom and Dad, do you know what kind of life my grandma lives at my uncle's house? She..."
Li Ruyun glanced at Ke Qiangbang and immediately interrupted Ke Shunyi, "What kind of life does she live? Huh? Of course, she lives a good life with food to eat and clothes to wear. Your uncle's house has so many rooms, doesn't it have a place for your grandmother to stay? Huh?"
“Look at our house again? Your dad and I can hear each other whispering in the middle of the night. It's such a small place. If another person squeezes in, how do you think we can live? Huh? Tell me.”
"Do you really want your grandma to come and suffer with us?"
"And do you know that the big house your uncle and his family live in was bought by your grandparents and given to them for free? What do we have? Huh? What do we have?"
