Chapter 111 Promoted to General

His eyes met Su Huaiyue's and he nodded slightly to show that he understood.

"I'm going to the toilet."

Wei Che pretended to speak loudly, his tone so natural that it seemed like it was true.

He walked towards the corridor, and Su Huaiyue quickly followed and entered a small room together.

Su Huaiyue and Wei Che looked at each other. They both knew in their hearts that the tension at the moment did not come from this small and depressing environment, but from the greater threat from the outside world.

Su Huaiyue's eyes were deep, as if they could penetrate all appearances and reach the core of things.

She raised her head slightly, a hint of fatigue hidden under her bright eyes, but she was still extremely determined.

"I think we need to take action," she said, her voice low and deep, as if every word had been carefully considered.

Wei Che nodded slightly, his brows furrowed, and his usually gentle face now had a bit more solemnity.

Despite facing huge risks, his presence always makes people feel calm.

He said in a deep voice, "It's the Celestial God Organization. They're quite courageous. But it seems they're in some trouble now. This might be a good opportunity for us."

His voice was low but powerful, as if giving Su Huaiyue a bit of strength invisibly.

Su Huaiyue raised her eyebrows slightly, understanding what the other party meant. "Are you talking about bats?"

There was a hint of alertness in her voice, and this discovery undoubtedly added more variables to the already grim situation.

Wei Che nodded, his eyes fixed on the front. "Yes, someone must have set fire to most of their blood bats today. This is both good and bad for us. It's very likely to force them to take more radical measures. We don't have much time left."

As the conversation deepened, the night outside the window seemed to become increasingly dignified. Occasionally, the low calls of night birds echoed in the distance, interweaving with the atmosphere in the room, as if foreshadowing a storm.

Su Huaiyue whispered, a hint of unease unconsciously in her voice, "According to the three villagers who escaped, weapons are being forged in the cave, and the number is huge. They are obviously well prepared. And I heard them say that this organization has thousands of black-clad emissaries scattered in the surrounding villages, hiding, just waiting for the signal to converge at the castle."

There was a hint of anxiety in her tone that she had never had before.

Wei Che was silent for a moment, and the expression on his face gradually turned sharp and resolute, like a cold blade.

He crossed his hands and placed them firmly on the edge of the table, his eyes revealing a deep solemnity. "It seems they are planning a rebellion, and they are also planning to kill the witnesses and use the blood and flesh of the villagers to breed more bats."

His voice was like a biting cold wind, making people shiver.

The dust particles suspended in the air slowly sank under the light, a symbol of the tense situation. "We can't wait any longer."

There was a hint of determination in Su Huaiyue's voice, "We must stop them."

At this moment, there was a slight sound outside, and Su Huaiyue turned his head alertly.

She lowered her voice and said to Wei Che, "Go in and hide quickly. Don't let anyone notice."

Wei Che smiled slightly, and his fingertips gently brushed across the back of Su Huaiyue's hand, bringing her a sense of comfort and strength.

He quickly left and blended back into the night.

"Why are you here? Why aren't you cleaning up the bodies? Are you trying to be lazy?"

The man in black came from outside and asked seriously. Wei Che lowered his voice and responded, "No, I just went to the toilet and I'm going to work now!"

The man in black glanced at Wei Che suspiciously: "Okay, go and clean it up quickly."

After saying that, he hurried out of here.

Su Huaiyue turned her head alertly and only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that there was no further movement outside.

Wei Che quickly pulled out a letter from his pocket and said to Su Huaiyue, "An old friend of mine, General Rongsheng, has returned triumphantly from the northwest to the capital to receive his reward. He's expected to be here soon. This is a letter for him. Please try to get it to him. He's the only one who can mobilize troops quickly."

Su Huaiyue took the letter, her eyes determined: "I will find a way to deliver it."

She had an iron sense of responsibility and knew that this matter was of great importance.

After the two of them briefly discussed the action plan, Su Huaiyue left the room.

She tiptoed along the dark alley to the foot of the mountain. The entrance to the cave was hidden and low-key, almost blending in with the surrounding rocks.

After walking in, she saw the three villagers she and Wei Che had rescued during the day.

They were sitting around a campfire. When they saw Su Huaiyue come in, they immediately stood up, and then their wary expressions quickly turned into surprise.

"Mrs. Wei, you're here!" It was Zhang Yong who spoke, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Su Huaiyue nodded and looked around the cave. He found the body of a black-clothed messenger lying on the ground. His face was covered with rags and it seemed that he had been dead for a long time.

They guessed that the black-clad messenger had woken up and was restless, so they asked the three of them to deal with him.

It wasn't a big deal, so she glanced at it calmly and didn't ask any more questions.

"Madam Wei, I don't know how the matter was handled, but those damn guys must be made to pay the price they deserve." A slightly weathered villager said indignantly.

"Yes, Madam Wei, we have had enough of these people's orders over the past two years. They beat and scold us at every turn. We can't live well, and we can't die well. We live like zombies every day."

Listening to the three people's complaints, Su Huaiyue had an idea in his mind and said, "To be honest, this God organization may have the intention of rebellion. They are forging weapons and raising poisonous bats. They are fully prepared. We can't fight them with our own strength. We must call for reinforcements."

She took out the letter from her bosom and continued, "This is a letter asking for help. It must be delivered to General Rongsheng. He is on his way back to the capital. We must give this letter to him before these people are ready to take action and send reinforcements."

Su Huaiyue's words instantly aroused the fighting spirit of these villagers.

Zhang Yong knelt on one knee, his eyes determined as if he was going to die heroically.

"Madam Wei, if you feel at ease, you can give the letter to me. I have the best physical strength, and I will definitely deliver this letter to the general!"

Su Huaiyue immediately helped Zhang Yong up and handed the letter to him.

Zhang Yong took the letter and said without hesitation, "I am a fast runner and will definitely live up to Madam Wei's trust!"

Su Huaiyue nodded with satisfaction, pulled him aside, and warned him in a low but urgent tone: "Be careful, there are black-clad messengers everywhere."

"I understand, Madam Wei, don't worry."

The determination in Zhang Yong's eyes made Su Huaiyue feel a little comforted.

She took out some food and water from her bag and gave them to the other two villagers.

"You must continue to hide and never show up. It's dangerous to stay here, but I will find a way to rescue you as soon as possible."

The villagers nodded gratefully and accepted the supplies.

After Su Huaiyue confirmed Zhang Yong's familiarity and memory of the route again, he watched him jump out of the cave and disappear into the night.

Although she felt uneasy, she had more trust in Zhang Yong and expectation of success.
