Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Lying in bed, I was still sorting out my thoughts.

At that moment, a feeling of being spied on washed over me. Outside the window, I saw several oval shadows. I recognized them instantly: eyes. They were watching me from outside the window. I immediately got up and tried to call Sister Ma, but she wasn't in the room at all.

When I opened the door and walked outside, I saw that the moon in the sky had turned into an eye, looking at me evilly.

I ignored it and looked for Sister Ma. Although Sister Ma and I were not in the same room, if she went out, I would definitely hear the door open. Now she disappeared silently in this strange village, I had to find her.

"Sister Ma! Sister Ma!" I couldn't find anyone, so I shouted loudly twice. A villager heard my shouting and came out of his house.

At first they helped me look for it, but when someone suddenly looked up in the sky, the eye actually smiled.

The villagers in front of me were all frozen in place. They looked up at the sky, their necks stiff, their hands hanging naturally, and their feet standing on tiptoe, motionless.

I immediately summoned the Fire Bell to prepare for any eventuality.

All the villagers turned to look at me, and as they turned their heads, they made a sound like a wooden door opening.

I immediately burned them with my fire bells, but they were unharmed. Instead, my fire bells melted quickly and finally disappeared.

This was the first time such a situation had occurred in history. I immediately condensed the golden feather arrow, which also disappeared when it was shot into the air.

There was a mocking sound in the sky, and I looked up. My head was once again covered with eyes. They were all staring at me from the sky, with different expressions.

The people around me quickly dried up and turned into mummies.

They rushed over and surrounded me.

I quickly ran out of their encirclement and drew a Five Thunder Talisman, hoping to borrow the power of heaven and earth, but there was no energy to borrow in the surrounding space.

The ghost was useless, the talisman could not be drawn, and I suddenly became an ordinary person.

Those people were walking very slowly, but they were chasing me. Seeing them getting closer and closer, I quickly dodged between the houses.

Finally, I found a house that looked very old, opened the door, and locked it tightly with a bolt.

I walked into the inner room and found that the room was full of dry firewood. I hid in the firewood pile. Before I could catch my breath, I noticed that the dark green moonlight shone through the window onto the firewood. Through the gaps in the firewood, I saw Sister Ma inside!

I didn't care about making any noise, I pushed aside the firewood and pulled Sister Ma out. Along with Sister Ma, several bodies came out. Without exception, they were all members of the Xuanmen sect.

One shrunken corpse after another fell to the ground. I hurriedly pinched Sister Ma's philtrum, but she didn't wake up at all. I subconsciously placed my palm on Sister Ma's forehead, trying to test it with my spirit, but as soon as the spirit overflowed my body, it would be swallowed by the air.

"Squeak."

I looked at the ground and saw the bodies moving.

They stiffly propped themselves up on their arms, reaching out to grab me. I attached the ghost to my arm, and since it would disappear if separated from the body, I could only resort to the simplest and most brutal method. I punched it, instantly shattering it into pieces. However, this was only a temporary solution; shattering all the bodies would be impossible in a short period of time.

In a hurry, I carried Sister Ma on my back and ran out. When I reached the door, I found that the bolt had been blocked by me just now. I was really trapped in my own trap.

I put Sister Ma on the ground and tried to open the door, but I was so flustered that I couldn't open it at all.

I assumed a charging stance and charged at the gate. The moment I made contact, I imbued my spirit with my upper body and smashed the door to pieces. Rushing out, I saw the villagers already outside. Turning back, I saw the few bodies left in the woodshed gathered around Sister Ma. I quickly rushed to her side, swatted them away, and carried her on my back, running outside.

The villagers walked slowly, but I didn't run fast either after carrying Sister Ma on my back. Sister Ma remained unconscious, and I wanted to run out with her on my back, but halfway through, I noticed the village had changed. Where the village entrance used to be, there were now only rows of dry trees. Upon closer inspection, there weren't any trees there anymore; they were just dry limbs.

Those limbs are connected to each other and connected to the eyes through blood vessels.

The villagers behind me gathered more and more. I stamped my feet and ran to the side with Sister Ma on my back. After running for a long time, I could no longer run. A well appeared in front of me. I had an idea and tied Sister Ma to my back with the rope used to draw water from the well. My idea was to hide in the well until dawn. As soon as the sun rose, I would be sure to take Sister Ma out.

After tying up Sister Ma, I dropped down along the rope and stopped sliding down only when I reached the surface of the water.

I looked at the wellhead, hoping they wouldn't find me.

Now I'm trying to calm myself down.

First, I can't use Taoist talismans. Second, my spirit can only remain within my body; if it emerges outside, it will be absorbed by an inexplicable force. Fire Bell Technique and Golden Feather Arrows are completely useless, and I doubt the Thunder and Fire Beads will work either. I'm almost certain I'm currently inside a large formation.

As I was thinking, I saw an eye appear at the mouth of the well. I thought to myself that this was not good, so I climbed up along the rope. Halfway up, I dared not move anymore because a dry hand appeared at the mouth of the well.

Then there were two, three, and finally the entire wellhead was covered.

The villagers' shriveled faces blocked the well mouth, and the well suddenly became dark.

This time it's really over. It seems that I can only fight them to the death with brute force.

A chill came from my chest, and I slapped my forehead, wondering how I could have forgotten about the feather stone.

I was originally holding the rope with both hands, but with this slap, one hand could not bear the weight of both of us, and my body fell straight to the bottom of the well.

"Plop", Sister Ma and I both fell into the water.

I suppressed my fear of water and opened my eyes. I found a bright light deep in the water. The feather stone was guiding me to swim towards that light.

After a lot of effort, I swam to the light, and with another effort, I broke out of the water.

It should have been at the bottom of the well, but now it has become the surface of the well!

I looked towards the wellhead, and instead of dried-up villagers, there was a blue sky.

I grabbed the rope and climbed up quickly until I was out of the well.

On this side, it was daytime and the sun was shining brightly. I casually shot a golden-feathered arrow and found that it was flying normally in the air without any sign of being swallowed.

Finally, I took back the golden arrow, carried Sister Ma on my back and walked towards the village entrance.

As soon as I walked out of the alley, I saw a group of villagers gathered at the village entrance.

My head exploded when I saw them, because the people they were surrounding were Ma Ping, Sister Ma and me!

Isn’t this the scene where we were driven out by the villagers?
