After finishing their meal, the two tidied up the second floor and prepared to share the seafood they had brought back with their friends.
“We’ll send some to Sister Chen. She owns a shop now and has a wide network of connections. We’ll definitely need her to promote our seafood in the future,” Xu Lin said.
The two packed the seafood into portions and set off on their tricycle.
First, I went to Sister Chen's shop at the trading market, and she happened to be there.
"Welcome, young lady! Come in and have a seat." Sister Chen was as welcoming as ever.
"I went to Jinshi a few days ago and brought back some seafood. I just got back and gave it to Sister Chen to try."
"Oh, you guys went to Jinshi? You must have some connections, you even managed to get a letter of introduction."
"Sister Chen knows all this?"
"To be honest, I used to want to start a seafood business, but I didn't have enough connections to get a letter of introduction!"
"Actually, we went to Jinshi to do seafood business."
"That would be great! My son loves seafood, so you'll have to save some for me in advance."
"It's no problem at all, Sister Chen, please help spread the word."
"Don't worry, I'll definitely recommend all the customers who come to my shop. By the way, have you found a shop location yet?"
"No, I came here to inquire about where there are shops for rent."
The shops in the base trading market are only for rent and not for sale, and the prices will not increase unless there are special circumstances, so it is still very cost-effective.
“The shop next to mine is up for sale these days. Now that the insect infestation has just passed and everyone has suffered heavy losses, this is the best time to take over.”
"What a coincidence! Could you please help me introduce them, Sister Chen?"
"Come on, the owner of that shop happens to be here today. He came over for a chat this morning. I'll take you there."
"Okay, I'll go put something in the car first."
Since she couldn't leave anytime soon, and worried that the seafood might not be fresh, Xu Lin went to the carport and put the seafood back into her spatial storage.
Sister Chen led Xu Lin and Zhou Pin to the shop next door. This shop was about the same size as Sister Chen's. It seemed that all the shops on this street were the same size, except that some shops rented two adjacent shops at once and then connected them together.
"Old Fang!" Sister Chen called out loudly as soon as she entered the door.
"Old Chen, you already miss me after we just parted this morning?" A chubby woman came out of the shop's break room.
"These are Xiao Xu and Xiao Zhou. Didn't you say this morning that you were going to sell the shop? They just happened to be looking to rent a shop, and that's why I thought of you."
"Come in and have a seat," Old Zhou said, gesturing for them to enter. Then, turning to Sister Chen, he whispered, "Are you a relative?"
"I'm so lucky to have relatives like that! We met while doing business, but don't underestimate them. They're the ones who provided the luxury handbags that made me rich."
Old Fang understood.
Once inside the lounge, the four of them took their seats.
"To be honest, I opened this shop when the base was first set up, so I have a lot of affection for it. If you want to sublet it, I won't charge a transfer fee. I just have one condition: you have to take over the goods in this shop. Don't worry, I'll give them to you at cost price."
Xu Lin had seen it when she entered; it was a building materials store, but most of the items were secondhand. It was probably built by survivors who found the materials outside and brought them here to sell, and then she tidied them up and resold them.
Now that the basic infrastructure of the base is basically completed, there are few houses being built, so the building materials cannot be sold, and business is getting worse and worse.
"I'm renting this shop to sell seafood, so I don't need your building materials," Xu Lin said, looking troubled.
"How about I give you a 50% discount?" Old Fang said through gritted teeth.
