Xu Lin decided to build a treehouse in a big tree outside the hot spring. She and Zhou Pin could move here when they got tired of living down the mountain, and occasionally soak in the hot spring – life would be wonderful.
After soaking in the hot spring, Xu Lin went straight into her spatial dimension to change clothes, feeling completely refreshed.
As they emerged from the cave, Zhou Pin was circling a tree when Xu Lin walked over.
"What are you looking at?" Xu Lin asked.
"Let's see which direction to build the treehouse from."
"How did you know I was going to build a treehouse?" Xu Lin was pleasantly surprised.
“We originally planned to build a treehouse halfway up the mountain or at the top, and since you love hot springs so much, let’s build it here. If you want to build it somewhere else, we can build it later,” Zhou Pin said.
"You're the best boyfriend ever!" Xu Lin said, hugging Zhou Pin.
"Still calling him boyfriend?"
"Honey! You're so amazing!"
"Even a skilled cook can't cook without rice; no matter how great I am, it's useless," Zhou Pin said.
Xu Lin quickly took out the tools from her spatial storage.
"How about we use the wood from the space?" Xu Lin thought cutting down trees was too troublesome.
"No need. The wood in the space is obviously processed, sourced locally, and in its original state."
Zhou Pin used the chainsaw given to him by Xu Lin to cut down more than ten trees, selected suitable branches to put together to build a treehouse, and used the rest as firewood later.
While Zhou Pin was cutting down trees, Xu Lin went to dig for wild vegetables. She kept the tender ones to eat and stored the older ones in her space for future planting.
Before they knew it, it was already six o'clock in the afternoon, and Xu Lin came to find Zhou Pin.
"Let's go home and have dinner!" Xu Lin said, looking at Zhou Pin standing on the tree branch.
"Right away. I've finished all the treehouse parts. We'll start building it tomorrow. It's just one room, so it can be finished in a morning."
"Okay, I'll cook you a fresh dish when I get home for lunch to treat you."
"Shepherd's purse?"
Zhou Pin looked at the vegetables in Xu Lin's basket and asked.
Now, if the two of them go out carrying light items, they don't put them in storage space to prevent them from developing a habit of casually putting things away in front of strangers, which could lead to trouble.
"Yes, it's been a long time since I've had shepherd's purse stir-fried with eggs."
"I'll do it in a bit, you dig for wild vegetables and I'll do the cooking. It's a reasonable division of labor."
"You can put it that way."
Zhou Pin always found excuses for Xu Lin not to do work, which made Xu Lin feel embarrassed, but Zhou Pin spoke with a straight face.
Back at the cabin at the foot of the mountain, Xu Lin picked shepherd's purse in the yard while Zhou Pin went to the kitchen to cook.
Blanch the cleaned shepherd's purse in boiling water for 1 minute, then remove and rinse with cold water. Squeeze out the excess water from the shepherd's purse, chop it finely, put it in a bowl, add some chopped green onions and pepper, then crack in 3 eggs and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan until it reaches 50% of its maximum temperature. Pour in the shepherd's purse and egg mixture, spread it evenly with a spatula, and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and let cool. Cut into small pieces, and the shepherd's purse pancakes are ready.
Soak the cleaned shepherd's purse in lightly salted water for 10 minutes, and crush half a bowl of peanuts for later use.
After 10 minutes, thoroughly wash the shepherd's purse, drain it, and place it in a bowl. Crack in two eggs, mix well, and season with salt and pepper. Gradually add cornmeal, ensuring each shepherd's purse is evenly coated. Finally, add crushed peanuts and mix again. Adding crushed peanuts makes it even more fragrant.
Bring water to a boil in a pot, then take a damp cloth and place it in a steamer. Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then shake the shepherd's purse and spread it evenly on the cloth. This way, the shepherd's purse will not stick to the pot.
Then prepare a dipping sauce: put minced garlic in a bowl, add appropriate amounts of oyster sauce, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, and stir well.
