Xu Lin woke up the next day without an alarm clock. She was out of money, so she decided to stay home and download various materials.
With one phone downloaded to offline maps and the other to various fighting and self-defense techniques, Xu Lin watched a lighthearted drama while eating breakfast on her laptop, thinking that she also needed to pick up her physical fitness again.
In her previous life, Xu Lin grew up in an orphanage. From a young age, she was always climbing and fighting, and no boy could beat her. After starting school, she worked as a sparring partner at a martial arts gym to earn money. It was hard work, but the income was very good. She could take down two or three adult men without a problem. This was another reason why Xu Lin was able to live for several years in her previous life.
"Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong" The phone received several messages in a row. Xu Lin picked up the phone and saw that several credit card loans had been deposited into her account. Each card was worth between 80,000 and 300,000 yuan, all of which were applied for as large amounts, totaling 2.38 million yuan.
Sometimes Xu Lin wonders if the apocalypse hadn't come, would she have ended up on a credit blacklist, being "hunted down" by banks and lending platforms for not being able to repay her loans, and possibly even having to eat peanuts?
With money in hand, Xu Lin didn't plan to stay at home anymore; she needed to quickly prepare supplies.
I drove my little truck to an outdoor supplies wholesale market first. I bought almost everything in the store: mountain bikes, outdoor tents, sleeping bags, earthquake survival kits, high-powered flashlights, walkie-talkies, outdoor portable stoves, alcohol lamps, alcohol blocks, solar lights. The owner looked at Xu Lin and thought, "Well, another newbie outdoor enthusiast."
Using the excuse that she was going on a polar expedition with her friends, Xu Lin asked the shop owner to recommend a reliable store for cold-weather clothing. As luck would have it, the shop owner's brother-in-law owned a cold-weather gear store. The shop owner helped load the outdoor gear onto a small truck and immediately took Xu Lin there.
At the shop owner's recommendation, Xu Lin bought the thickest and sturdiest winter clothes of all sizes, snow boots, and... ice skates? Yes, you read that right. When everyone else is falling on the ice, Xu Lin will be gliding around freely on her ice skates, truly the coolest girl on the ice.
The morning passed just like that. At noon, we went to a high-end restaurant. Outdoor enthusiasts don't have to worry about money, so even a restaurant near an outdoor equipment wholesale market can't be low-end.
The moment the food touched her lips, Xu Lin no longer felt bad about the expensive meal that cost over a hundred yuan. She immediately asked the manager to order 100 boxed meals, one meat and two vegetable dishes, to take away later.
Turning around, I was drawn to a promotional poster next to the cashier. It introduced their restaurant's latest outdoor emergency rice balls, which supposedly look like compressed biscuits, taste like Michelin-starred food, and most importantly, have a mild smell and a long shelf life. People around you would just think you're eating a regular rice ball. What an amazing rice ball! I ordered five thousand in one go, asking the restaurant to make them and deliver them to the warehouse.
After lunch, the boxed meals were packed up and the waiter helped load them onto the small truck. Xu Lin took advantage of the fact that no one was around to put everything in the truck into her spatial storage, including the bathtub she had bought last time. The truck was empty again; she needed to restock quickly.
In the afternoon, I went to the clothing wholesale market and bought dozens of sets of thermal underwear, camel hair pants, down jackets, and military coats in one go. I didn't care about the style, as long as they were warm. In the apocalypse, who cares about how good clothes look? Just being alive is good enough.
I drove my small truck to a deserted spot to empty it, then went to the food street to collect boxed lunches. By the time I finished collecting them all, it was already dark. Under the cover of night, I stored the boxed lunches in my spatial warehouse and then went home.
