Chapter 70 Amnesia ≠ Dementia "Bruce, you're really faking it..."

As Wen Yue entered the Batcave, she was greeted by a series of batarangs arranged in an orderly fashion, resembling figurines. Various bat suits of the same dark style were displayed, while Robin uniforms with different details and a variety of red hoods were placed side by side. Red Robin uniforms and Raven's black robes were also stacked in layers.

Wen Yue's eyes widened in amazement. "Why is nobody here?"

"I don't know." Da Chao looked around. The bat cave was tightly covered by lead, and he rarely had the opportunity to observe it so carefully.

The changing room was at the end of the uniform display case. Wen Yue changed out of her wet clothes and found a suitable casual outfit in the changing room. It was simple, minimalist, and in a cool black and gray tone, respecting Batman's character.

Cyborg, along with Wonder Woman and Aquaman, went to find his father, Silas Stone. Silas Stone is a biotechnology scientist who revived Victor, who was critically injured and near death, into the Cyborg we know today, using Mother Box technology. Silas is likely the most knowledgeable scientist on Earth about the Mother Boxes, and he might have a way to isolate Apokolips from their influence.

Wen Yue and Da Chao returned to the Bat Cave, and Wen Yue's wet clothes needed to be dried. Besides, Wen Yue was currently powerless and would only be there to make up the numbers. She didn't believe she had the real strength to be a superhero saving the world, and this wasn't a game an ordinary person should be involved in.

"This is your nano-bat armor. It wasn't used on the battlefield." Superman returned the nano-bracelet to its rightful owner.

Wen Yue took the bracelet in a daze, studied it for a long time without any clue, and tilted her head slightly: "How do I use it?"

Da Chao leaned over and used Wen Yue's fingerprint to unlock the armor. Fine nanoparticles, like a liquid galaxy, flowed upwards along the body's contours, smoothly spreading and enveloping the entire body, containing an unparalleled sense of technology and power, giving a feeling of complete security.

Wearing the bat armor, Wen Yue felt powerful and majestic, her confidence soaring, and she even had the illusion that she could go toe-to-toe with Superman.

Wen Yue sat down in front of the Bat-shaped computer and looked around: "Do you know where the Mother Box is in the Bat Cave?"

“Perhaps we should ask your family.” Superman shook his head slightly. “I didn’t see any trace of the Mother Box in the Bat Cave.”

Wen Yue nodded, searching and browsing information on the Bat-computer to grasp the world's information. After a while, she looked up and found that Superman was still there. "You can go help Cyborg; I'll stay here and search for information," she said.

"Need not."

Hearing this, Wen Yue didn't refuse. She lowered her head and continued her investigation. The Darkseid attack and the sense of urgency of the global crisis prompted her to quickly understand the timeline events and formulate countermeasures against the Apokolips army based on the information gaps.

The Bat System broadcast a machine voice: "Dynamic activity detected at the manor entrance. Identifications: Jason Todd, Richard Grayson, Timothy Drake, Rachel Ross."

Wen Yue stopped what she was doing: "Someone's here."

Da Chao: "They are your family."

Wen Yue narrowed her eyes: "Ravens too?" Logically speaking, ravens shouldn't belong to the bat family.

Da Chao nodded.

Wen Yue found it a bit strange, but perhaps it was just the diversity of the multiverse, so she didn't think about it anymore.

The atmosphere was somewhat silent for a while. "Why hasn't anyone come in yet?" The two exchanged a glance. Superman, whose vision was blocked by Kryptonite, was powerless to answer Wen Yue's question.

"Do I need to open the door manually?" Wen Yue looked for the switch. "Do you know how to open the door?"

“There should be remote control.” Da Chao gestured to the monitoring system interface that popped up on the computer, with a button with a flashing effect in the center of the screen.

Wen Yue clicked tentatively.

"Manor security system activated,"

Buhao and Wenyue quickly changed to another one.

"Lockdown mode has been activated."

Wen Yue's hands trembled as she clicked on "Other," trying to urgently interrupt the program and undo the changes, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.

"Countermeasures have been deployed."

The security system then broadcast an announcement: "Forced entry detected. Activate counter-attack?"

No, no, no!

Wen Yue's adrenaline surged, and she scrambled to turn the tide. Her mind raced, her fingers moving in a blur, and with a burst of quick thinking, she managed to shut down all the security systems. Wiping the fine sweat from her forehead, she let out a soft sigh of relief. What a close call! She almost gave her teammates a real-world victory.

Wen Yue and Da Chao, who were hovering off the ground and ready to physically dismantle the security system, exchanged a glance and both breathed a sigh of relief.

A sound came from the entrance of the Batcave. "This Batcave must be old and in disrepair. Why is the door so stiff? I'll have Bruce fix it later." Accompanied by a grumbling, footsteps gradually approached.

Wen Yue was surprisingly nervous. She straightened her clothes, sat up straight, interlaced her fingers to support her chin, maintaining Batman's unfathomable and icy demeanor, her back ramrod straight, not daring to relax for a moment. She assumed Batman's signature "everything is under control" pose, ready to face the formidable Bat family, whose members were not to be underestimated and were not simple children.

Then she met the gaze of a group of people who looked disheveled, as if they had just returned from dusting off a pile of ashes—

"Who are you?" Jason, the leader, looked at Wen Yue, who was posing, and spoke in a cold tone with a blank expression. His gaze was impossible to hide.

Jason, Dick, Tim, and Raven had a tumultuous day. Bruce, who had returned to their original world with them, disappeared halfway through. After sending the Flash, the tool for activating the Mother Box, back to Central City, the burdens of life left them no time to rest. Clinging to the last glimmer of hope that Bruce's soul could return to his original body, they rushed to Bruce's grave and swiftly dug it up and opened the coffin.

Bruce Wayne's death was a secret. The Batmen, knowing Bruce's habit of doing sit-ups, deliberately placed his grave on a remote, deserted coastline. After bypassing the gravedigger's patrol, the group stealthily moved in. Because they had left in such a hurry that they hadn't brought any professional tools, they had to dig the grave manually with whatever they could find.

The group worked enthusiastically but ended up in a mess, only to find out that they had dug up an empty grave. They didn't know which grave robber had abducted the person beforehand without telling the family.

When they returned home dejected and full of worry, they found that Bruce had already returned and was peacefully chatting and flirting with Superman in the Batcave. He even had time to pose and act profound, which was in stark contrast to the disheveled group.

They couldn't understand what all their busy work and worries were for. Was it to tell Batman that the Joker of this world had been found, and that they were the Joker?

Rather than asking "Who are you?", Jason, the leader, actually wanted to grit his teeth and ask, "Are you even here?"

Damn it.

"I am... Batman?" Wen Yue, suffering from amnesia, paused, answering somewhat uncertainly.

"She really isn't human." Jason threw his dusty helmet to the ground, wishing he could immediately activate the self-destruct system in the Red Hood and take Wen Yue down with him in a heartbeat.

"Bruce, you're such a show-off." You spend your time putting on airs, but you don't do any real work.

He scrutinized Wen Yue for a moment, then laughed in exasperation: "Oh, you've even changed into your nanosuit. Superman must have sent it to you." She has time to contact Superman, but not them; she's a heartless womanizer.

"You just wait, you old bat." Jason gave Wen Yue a disdainful middle finger, then turned and stormed off.

"Bruce, you're not just stupid, you're despicable." Tim wiped the dust off his face, shook his head, and followed him away.

“TT.” This is the swear word that our ancestor Dick uses to express his feelings now.

"I'm going to take a bath." The raven, whose black robe had turned gray, drew a circle around itself and instantly disappeared from the spot with Dick's spatial teleportation.

In the blink of an eye, the place was deserted. Wen Yue was stunned, her eyes filled with astonishment and confusion.

Completely bewildered and utterly clueless, Wen Yue slowly typed a question mark: "?" What on earth happened? I'm innocent!

The afternoon air was slightly cool, and the Bat family and Da Chao gathered together. The bats and birds, having washed away the dust, were dressed smartly, and the tableware on the table gleamed silver. The atmosphere was tense and silent.

Feeling more wronged than Dou E, Wen Yue broke the somber mood and calmly asked from the head seat, "What were you doing before?"

"We went to play in the mud." Today was arguably the most embarrassing day of the young master's life. Tim sneered, his self-restraint completely useless against Wen Yue. He was practically mocking her, his eyes clearly saying: "Find your conscience and tell me if you believe me."

Wen Yue hesitated for a moment, then chose to respect her words: "Haha, you have a childlike heart."

Tim's fist hardened; Bruce was really infuriating today.

Wen Yue, observing the expressions, seemed to sense something. She tactfully took a sip of water, paused, and then said seriously, "There's something I want to tell you." She added a layer of self-protection: "Actually, I have amnesia." Of course, it's also possible she transmigrated.

"..." The room was silent. The members of the Bat family at the dining table exchanged glances with different expressions.

“Yes, Bruce lost his memories after his resurrection.” Superman sat next to Wen Yue, solemnly confirming for her.

"A fabricated excuse?" Tim raised an eyebrow, glancing between Wen Yue and Da Chao, his first reaction.

The credibility of a "drama queen" player is, without a doubt, nonexistent.

Jason's eyes sharpened, and he said coldly, "It's one thing to collude, but to pull off one trick after another. I was so busy dealing with myself that I forgot to deal with the two of you."

Dick tried to mediate, but disagreed, saying, "Bruce, you'll only get a scolding at most, why make it like this?"

“Uh…” Raven was at a loss for words.

Wen Yue panicked, afraid they wouldn't believe her, and pointed to her head, making no attempt to hide her foolish persona: "You have to believe me, there really is something wrong with me."

Everyone: "..." This is the first time I've seen someone so eager to admit they're mentally ill.

Jason looked at him suspiciously, gave Tim a wink, and asked in a low voice, "Tim, what do you think?"

Tim struck a thinker's pose, his face serious: "Practice tests the truth."

The four exchanged knowing glances, said something, and nodded in tacit agreement.

"Bruce, when are you going to pay back the three hundred million you borrowed from me?" Jason was the first to test the waters, asking without hesitation.

"I need to borrow money?" Wen Yue was stunned. Bruce Wayne, the richest man, needed to borrow money? She had amnesia, not dementia.

In fact, Wen Yue's real concern was not about borrowing 300 million yuan, but how Jason could come up with 300 million yuan. Was it probably transferred from Bruce's account to his own?

(In Arkham Knight, Jason used his familiarity with Wayne Tower and knowledge of Bruce Wayne's account password to directly obtain a large sum of money from Bruce's account to support his revenge plan against Batman.)
