Soon, the first mock exam arrived. The entire school attached great importance to this exam because, generally speaking, the results of the first mock exam are quite similar to the actual college entrance exam results. The afternoon before the exam, Xu Chen was helping to set up the exam room when his homeroom teacher, Ms. Li, entered the classroom and called out to him, "Xu Chen, come in and have a chat with me." Xu Chen obeyed and went to the homeroom teacher's office. Ms. Li looked at Xu Chen with a troubled expression, "Xu Chen, you didn't fall behind in your studies during the winter break, did you?" Xu Chen nodded, "Don't worry, teacher, I'm confident." Ms. Li breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good, that's good. Wei Tai dropped out of school, and you're the only one left in the top twenty of our class. I'm counting on you for everything." Xu Chen looked at the sincere Ms. Li, "Okay, teacher, just wait for my good news on the college entrance exam." Ms. Li's eyes reddened, "Good, good, I didn't misjudge you. Go and prepare." Xu Chen left the office.
The next day, Xu Chen naturally gave it his all as usual during the exam. In the monitoring room, even more teachers gathered to watch him answer the questions. "You all said this kid was extraordinary last time, and seeing him today, he truly is remarkable." "It's as if he thought it all out in advance and wrote it so quickly." "Let's look at his exam paper together after the exam." Several teachers nodded; in the following exams, they were consistently impressed by Xu Chen's speed. The tense day was over. Xu Chen put down his pen and walked out of the exam hall, only to find Wang Li standing prettily at the school gate waiting for him. Xu Chen quickly went up to her and took her hand. "How was it? How did the exam go?" Wang Li seemed both happy and worried. "Chenchen, what should I do? I've realized I really have no mathematical thinking." Seeing Wang Li's slight anxiety, Xu Chen patted her hand. "It's okay, we'll work hard together." Wang Li calmed down. To be honest, if she had failed an exam normally, she would have gone home and cried. Today, apart from some anxiety, she had no other negative emotions. Wang Li simply attributed it to her lover's comforting words.
The examination room was silent. The teachers exchanged bewildered glances. One gave a wry smile, "That's monstrous! 285 points in the humanities section." Another chimed in, "Nearly perfect scores in Chinese, Math, and English! Tell me, is he even human?" The teachers looked at each other's astonished expressions. Meanwhile, Xu Chen was strolling along the street with Wang Li. "Lili, cheer up." Xu Chen looked at Wang Li, whose face was slightly somber from the math section. Wang Li smiled, "Chenchen, I'll need you to explain math to me a bit more." Xu Chen patted his chest, "No problem, answering my wife's questions is my duty." Wang Li, embarrassed and indignant, lightly slapped Xu Chen, "Pah, who's your wife?"
Just then, a voice came from behind Xu Chen, "Lili?" Gong Yan quickly stepped forward and saw her daughter. Looking at her daughter and the boy holding her hand, the mother rubbed her eyes in disbelief. She had been waiting at the school gate, hoping to chat with her daughter who was nervous about her exams, but instead, her daughter was flirting with someone and hadn't even called her parents. Wang Li's face paled, and she stood there flustered. Xu Chen, seeing the woman's panicked expression, turned around and saw a dignified middle-aged woman. Gong Yan glared angrily at Xu Chen, wanting to explode, but since they were in public, she suppressed her anger and stormed off, grabbing Wang Li's hand and walking away quickly.
Not long after they left, Wang Li tugged at Gong Yan's hand. "Mom, that's enough. He's far away now." Gong Yan glanced at her daughter, who kept looking back, and frowned. "Mom was going to talk to you when we got home." Wang Li remained silent. Gong Yan took her daughter's hand again. "Daughter, it's not that Mom objects to you dating. I'd even allow you to have ten or eight boyfriends when you go to college. Don't you know what time it is now? The college entrance exam is coming up soon. No, what's that boy's name? I need to talk to his teacher." Upon hearing this, Wang Li exclaimed, "No, don't talk to the teacher, Mom. His name is Xu Chen. You should remember him." Gong Yan thought for a moment. "Oh, it's that Xu Chen. He was the top student in your class at the end of last semester, right? I heard you say you often tutored him. You even lied to Mom and said you were a girl, but he's actually your little sweetheart, right? Hmm?" Wang Li nodded shyly. Gong Yan's expression immediately brightened, and she smiled happily. She was well aware of her daughter's rapid academic progress; for the time being, she was at the top level in all subjects except math. Gong Yan had wanted to thank Xu Chen before, and now, looking at her daughter teasingly, she said, "I was just thinking about how to thank Xu Chen, but I didn't expect my daughter to offer herself to me." Wang Li shyly covered her face and walked ahead. Gong Yan quickly caught up, "Lili, it's good to improve together, but don't let it affect your studies. Also, just in case, Mom needs to prepare some condoms for you." Wang Li was embarrassed and angry, "Mom, what are you saying!"
When Wang Li got home that evening, she video-called Xu Chen. Xu Chen looked at her and said, "Lili, is your mom calmed down?" Wang Li apologized, "I'm sorry, Chenchen, this is the first time my mom has met you, but after hearing about you, she didn't say anything." "Haha, that's good, so I guess I've met your parents early?" Xu Chen joked, looking at Wang Li. Wang Li nodded, a blush spreading across her pretty face. Looking at the beautiful woman's shy cheeks, Xu Chen slowly said, "Lili, you're so cute! After the college entrance exam, I'll definitely eat you up!" Wang Li feigned anger, "What are you saying, you pervert! I'm ignoring you!"
High school grades are always released very quickly, especially for seniors. Having gone through the ordeal of final exams, Xu Chen's classmates were no longer surprised by his exceptionally high scores and his ranking first in both the class and grade. Xu Chen received blessings from all sides, and Wang Li also improved rapidly, steadily climbing from around 20th in the class to the top five, with a potential total score of 650. After the results were announced and the teacher finished explaining the exam, Wang Li approached Xu Chen. "Chenchen, my mom heard about your tutoring and wants to thank you." Xu Chen thought for a moment, "Sure, I'll also test my mother-in-law's temper." Wang Li was both embarrassed and angry. The two left the school and headed to the Xingcheng Hotel. Xu Chen had already spoken to his mother, Wang Rong, on the phone and confidently followed Wang Li into the hotel.
