Chapter 24: The Spaceship Gets Hit?

Waking up early, Xu Chen drew back the curtains and stretched his body to greet the rising sun. Having been on Earth for almost half a year, he had gradually gotten used to sleeping every night. Just as Xu Chen caught a wisp of subtle purple energy and prepared to absorb it into his body—yes, Xu Chen stretched his body every morning for this very purple energy. It was extremely difficult to detect, but it was highly beneficial to cultivators; it was the primordial energy of all things. Just as the purple energy was about to enter his body, Xiao Bai suddenly said in his mind, "Xu Chen, something happened on the moon! The spaceship was hit by a meteorite! Why didn't the formation you set up work?" Xu Chen was taken aback. "Ah, what a coincidence!" "Otherwise, how do you think those craters on the moon's surface came about?" Hearing this, Xu Chen didn't waste any more words. He took out his phone and asked Teacher Li for leave. Xu Chen was now a popular figure in the entire school; asking for leave was a trivial matter, so naturally, it went smoothly. After receiving permission, Xu Chen dressed and hurried out the door. Suddenly, he stopped, thinking, "That damned place is so far away, and I can't meditate to recover my spiritual energy. I can fly there, but how am I going to fly back?" Xu Chen quickly went to a secluded spot, reached into his storage pouch, and took out a dozen or so Spirit Recovery Pills. "If word got out, my fellow cultivators in the sect would laugh me to death. A dignified Nascent Soul cultivator, about to become a Deity Transformation cultivator, only has a dozen or so pills in all my resources. I should have taken fewer pills on the way to Earth. But I think that should be enough." He then quickly found a secluded spot and teleported into the sky.

"I'm exhausted," Xu Chen said weakly, standing on the lunar surface. After resting for a short while, he quickly flew towards the spaceship's location. Soon, he saw the damaged spaceship, with a meteorite about half the size of it lying beside it. Xu Chen exclaimed in surprise, "Sister Xiaobai, the spaceship's protective capabilities are amazing!" He touched the small dent in the hull. Xiaobai said, "Open the hatch. I'll repair it, and you reinforce the array." Xu Chen grinned and said, "Okay!" Xu Chen used his spiritual power to add another layer of defensive properties to the spiritual array before entering the hatch. Soon after, the dent was completely repaired.

"Sister Xiaobai, do you think I'm stupid? Why don't I just fly the spaceship back to Earth?" Xu Chen had just swallowed a pill inside the spaceship and was about to meditate when he suddenly thought of this question. Xiaobai slowly said, "It's better to leave it on the moon. After all, the chance of being exposed is much smaller than on Earth." Xu Chen didn't waste any more words, swallowed the pill, and began to meditate. After a long time, Xu Chen relaxed his furrowed brows, exhaled a breath of turbid air, and said, "Sister Xiaobai, let's go." He touched the light screen with the jade pendant, and Xiaobai reappeared in the jade pendant. Then, Xu Chen closed the hatch, stepped out of the formation, and transformed into a stream of light, flying towards Earth.

At that moment, near the footprints Xu Chen had just left on the moon, a small vehicle suddenly appeared. This vehicle, adorned with a bright red flag, had a camera that was moving around, seemingly searching for suitable spots on the moon to grow vegetables. The camera scanned an area and suddenly stopped. The experts at the Beijing Aerospace Control Center stared in disbelief at the checkered footprints on the screen. "This...this...whose footprints are these? Are they those of an American astronaut?" A recent college graduate rubbed his eyes, hoping he was seeing things. Someone else replied blankly, "No, this isn't the landing site of the Apollo spacecraft; it's far away." At this moment, another person said, "Could it be that aliens also wear 4D suits?" "Shoes of a human, size 3?" He then subconsciously looked at the soles of his feet. "No way... is it really the same style?" His colleague next to him asked, "What do you mean, the same style?" Xiao Liu, observing his shoe print, quickly said, "Since the weather's been alright lately, I washed all my shoes. I just wore these today, and when I saw this shoe print on the screen, it looked familiar. I looked at the soles of my feet, and I didn't expect it to be the same style of shoes." The deputy division commander quickly asked Xiao Liu, "Xiao Liu, where did you buy your shoes?" Xiao Liu thought for a moment, "Anta, genuine Chinese shoes." Everyone exclaimed in surprise, "Could this... this person be Chinese?" "How did he get to the moon?" "No way, is there really such a bizarre thing?" The control hall was abuzz with discussion.

At this moment, a reporter from Beijing TV also arrived at the scene. They had been assigned a mission to focus on the Chinese lunar rover, but of course, they couldn't conduct the interview in the control room. They only wanted to capture the engineers' high spirits. Reporter Wang Bingbing entered the control room and found everyone staring blankly at the large screen. She approached the deputy division commander, "Hello, Mr. Yu, we're here to discuss the interview time with you." Mr. Yu glanced at his watch, "Let's schedule it for the afternoon. I have to go to the ministry later." He couldn't wait to report this strange event to his superiors. Wang Bingbing nodded and gestured to the cameraman to film a video and some photos of the engineers. The deputy division commander quickly said, "Go out first, remember to call me this afternoon." The cameraman put down his camera and left the hall with Wang Bingbing.

Old Yu, unable to wait any longer, got into the car with his secretary and rushed to the ministry. Minister Wang of the Ministry of Science and Technology was in his office. Old Yu grabbed his phone and rushed to him, "Old Wang, look at this!" Old Wang glanced at it, "It's just a shoe print. Old Yu, why are you being so mysterious?" Old Yu quickly said, "This shoe print was photographed on the moon!" Upon hearing this, Old Wang was so shocked his jaw almost dropped. He was speechless for a long time. He wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth and asked with difficulty, "No...no way, are you serious?" Old Yu nodded heavily. Old Wang didn't hesitate any longer, grabbed his suit jacket, and pulled Old Yu towards the door, saying, "Quick, come with me to see Number Two." Knowing the gravity of the matter, Old Yu put away his phone and followed Old Wang out the door.
