He stepped out, his gaze falling on the ward next door.
The ward door was ajar, the lights were dim, and it was very quiet inside.
He reached the doorway, glanced around, and his expression froze.
She sat on the floor, leaning against the wall, her arms wrapped around her knees, curled up, fast asleep.
A pile of clothes, some clean and some discarded, lay on the ground beside him.
Li Duo stepped forward and nudged her with his leg. "Wen Shu."
Wen Shu woke up with a start and stood up abruptly. When she saw the person in front of her, she pressed her hand to her chest and breathed a sigh of relief.
"It was Mr. Li! You startled me."
She instantly snapped out of her daze, followed him to the hallway outside, and whispered, "Why are you here so late?"
Li Duo looked at her and asked, "Are you settling in well?"
Wen Shu nodded: "It's a habit, thank you for your concern."
Li Duo stared at her.
Wen Shu said, "Mr. Li, it's getting late, and you have to go to work tomorrow."
Li Duo said coldly, "If you have any difficulties, you can speak up."
Wen Shu nodded: "Mm."
She agreed verbally, but didn't say anything to him.
He then asked, "Is there anything inconvenient?"
Wen Shu replied, "There's nothing inconvenient about it. Mr. Li, it's already one in the morning, you should go home and rest early."
He won't sleep, but she needs to. She has to work tomorrow.
Li Duo asked again, "Do you feel you can adapt to everything now?"
Wen Shu nodded firmly: "She can adapt. The doctor said Grandma will be discharged soon..."
"If you're in such a hurry to be discharged, you can get out now!"
Wen Shu was taken aback. She quickly grabbed his arm. "Wait a minute! Mr. Li, what do you mean by that?"
