Chapter 59 Tata's Adventures (Part 2): Escape, Injury
The goblin's hoarse, painful howls pierced Tata's eardrums. But he couldn't let his guard down; two more goblins were watching him intently.
The opening in the trap net was loosely secured on the outside, and Tata was trapped inside without any hands. She could only arch her head and scratch with her little paws, trying to escape.
"Kill him! Kill him right now!"
The goblin with his frozen hand had a ferocious expression and roared madly. The other two goblins exchanged a glance, unsure of what to do.
They just wanted to have some meat, but they didn't expect to run into such a tough opponent.
Wasn't it said that the monsters in this forest are all low-level?
"What are you waiting for!?"
The goblin's fingers and half a palm were frozen solid; the initial sharp pain had turned into numbness after the pain reached its peak.
"Two useless pieces of trash!"
The goblin raised his club again and brought it down on Tata's head, but Tata narrowly dodged it with a roll.
His hind leg must be injured; he could feel the swelling and pain with every movement. Tata knew that the blue light he had just emitted was magic, something her father had used in battles against other magical beasts.
The goblin and Tata glared at each other with mutual hostility.
Tata secretly tried to use the skill again, but found that he couldn't use it no matter what he did. Cold sweat instantly climbed up his back.
This is his only way to save his life right now. If he can't use it again, he'll just become the goblins' meal.
No beast wants to be eaten!
Tata tried his best to remain calm and not let the other side see anything.
At this moment, the injured goblin's eyes were bloodshot—he had completely gone mad, and looked extremely creepy.
The goblin pulled a dagger from his clothes and thrust it straight at Tata.
"Woof! Woof!"
After sniffing around a few times, Big Yellow seemed to have determined its direction and charged off in a certain direction, while Ray's hands were red from being pulled by the rope.
"Good dog, slow down, slow down!"
Neil chased after it, scolding Big Yellow as he went, worried that it might trip and fall over.
"Someone's coming! Run!"
Hearing the dog bark, the two goblins hurriedly pulled back their companion who was holding a dagger.
“Let’s go! If the villagers find out we’re sneaking out to hunt near the village, they’ll drive all the goblins away! You know how ruthless our own kind are; it won’t be as simple as just one hand then.”
The two goblins' words brought him back to his senses. He looked in the direction from which the barking came, and then at Tata, who was trapped in the net and staring intently at him.
"I swear on my life, one day I will make you pay for this hand!"
He swung the stick at Tata, but Tata dodged it again. Finally, he left angrily with the other goblins.
When the big yellow dog arrived with Laiyi and Neil, the three goblins were nowhere to be seen. Only Tata, trapped in the net, was still struggling inside.
Having found its target, the big yellow dog cowered behind Lai, trying to hide from Tata. But behind it, it wagged its tail excitedly.
"It's An'an! I'm so glad he's still alive!"
Neil's gloomy face, which had been hanging over him ever since he discovered that Tata had run away, finally relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Tata.
He stepped forward, intending to release him, but was stopped by Ray.
"etc."
Neil looked at Ray with a puzzled expression. Ray handed the rope to Neil and squatted down to look at Tata on the ground.
“I know you want to go back to your parents, but you are currently on the outskirts of Eaton Forest, and you can’t get back there on your own.”
Tata was taken aback by Lei's words. He stared blankly at the human squatting beside him.
"If you trust me, I can help you return to Eaton Forest when I am able to do so. Alternatively, you can choose to stay with us and embark on your journey again once you are strong enough."
"That's what Lei went on to say."
“I know you can understand what I’m saying. Although you are a highly talented magical beast with unlimited potential, I must tell you that right now you are just a cub that can be easily manipulated. If you insist on going back on your own, then you will only face death.”
The little guy is so naughty.
He could run away the first time, and he could do it a second and a third time. Ray knew he had to nip this behavior and these thoughts in the bud.
This is also for the little guy's own sake.
Lei's serious demeanor is quite intimidating.
Tata is just young, but she's not stupid and can't understand good or bad words.
He knew the human who made him feel safe was right. He'd barely gone a short distance before he'd been caught in such a simple trap, unable even to break free of the net itself, and had almost been eaten by those three ugly creatures…
"I'm releasing you now; it's up to you to decide whether to stay or leave."
Ray untied the ropes, opening the trap net. Tata limped out, tilting her head slightly as she looked at Ray.
There was no further sign of escape.
Lei frowned as he watched the dirty little guy drag his hind leg as he didn't dare to use it to push off.
"Ah! An'an, your leg!"
Ray stared at the wooden stick next to the trap net; the cuts were clean, clearly man-made. So, other people had been here just now.
What was his purpose? Why did he want to capture An'an, this little creature with an enormous appetite, a skinny build, and only a decent appearance?
Could it be that the identity of the Tata Beasts has been exposed, and they are being targeted?
"Brother, what should we do?"
"Go find a few sticks that are about the thickness of your little finger."
Neil tied the big yellow dog to a tree branch. With nowhere to hide, the dog hurriedly hid behind the tree trunk, with most of its rear end still sticking out.
Take the wooden stick and Rai unties the ribbon binding her hair.
Cutting hair in winter freezes your scalp, and Lai's hair kept growing longer and longer, which was a real hassle. So he just grabbed a ribbon and tied his hair together. Unexpectedly, the ribbon came in handy in this situation.
"Don't move. Let me stabilize your hind leg to prevent further injury."
Ray used straps to secure Tata's hind leg to the stick. There was a noticeable bulge on its hind leg, and Ray dared not touch that spot lightly.
After securing them, he carried Tata; Neil led the big yellow dog, with a trap net slung over his shoulder. The two men, the dog, and the monster walked for about twenty minutes before finally arriving home.
As soon as he got home, Ray put a rope on the mule and prepared to go to town to find Dr. Blake to treat it.
Judging from Tata's current condition, he has most likely injured a bone and needs to be taken to a doctor for proper treatment.
Lei dared not use healing magic on it without permission, fearing that the bones might have healed but not yet aligned properly.
