Chapter 18
Ji Fang bent down and grabbed the small hand that was trying to shield his head from the umbrella. With his other hand, he pulled Qiao Ye into his arms. Rain dripped from his chin onto the original man's hand. He took the energy lamp, wiped the water off Qiao Ye's hand, and softly asked a declarative question: "Come out and meet me?"
Joe didn't answer, holding the umbrella steadily with both hands, and the two of them, one umbrella and one person, passed through the gate.
When they reached the stairs, Ji Fang put Qiao down and folded the umbrella. Qiao rushed ahead and climbed the stairs, leaving wet footprints on the stairs.
Ji Fang shone the energy lamp on the stairs that Qiao Ye was walking up, and the two of them quickly entered the room.
Fortunately, it's summer now. Although the rain soaked my clothes, it wasn't cold.
However, Qiao was still promptly pulled into the bathroom by Ji Fang, who turned on the hot water and started taking a shower.
Qiao didn't object to taking a bath, but this time, Ji Fang's clothes were also soaked by the rain, and he had already taken off his shirt, revealing his fair and slender figure.
Qiao felt a little uncomfortable. Was she going to take a bath with him?
Having lived together for so long, Joe had pretty much gotten used to his pet status. As a human at the top of the food chain, the Cohen was separated from the original humans by species, so there was nothing to be ashamed of.
However, Joe still couldn't be completely honest with himself, whether it was as a pet facing his naked owner or as the owner facing his pet naked. Joe couldn't accept either of these situations.
Fortunately, Ji Fang only took off his shirt, trousers, and shoes, and helped him take a shower while wearing only shorts, which relieved Qiao.
While applying foam to Qiao Ye's hair, Ji Fang said, "It's too dangerous in heavy rain. Don't go out casually in the future, understand?"
Joe glanced at him, neither indicating that he understood nor that he didn't.
Ji Fang's deep green eyes met Qiao Ye's dark pupils for a moment. Qiao Ye lowered her eyes, looking somewhat guilty for being seen through.
Ji Fang continued, "You're so small, if you step into the ditch, you'll be swept away and there'll be no way to save you."
Joe lowered his head and played with the foam in his hand, pretending not to understand.
Ji Fang lifted his face and earnestly repeated his instructions: "Be good and don't go out casually anymore, okay?"
The "hmm" sound, with its upward inflection at the end, shows that the owner was giving a very serious instruction.
If Qiao hadn't been certain that Ji Fang didn't know he could understand, he almost would have nodded.
Talking to pets, talking to yourself, giving commands—people from all over the world like to do this.
It's clear that the owner of the house is in a good mood today.
After taking a shower, Qiao asked Ji Fang to show him a video. Ji Fang activated the original man's mental power and shared the terminal with him.
Ji Fang looked at Yuan Ren, who was quietly watching the video on the side. He realized that raising a pet could be so considerate, always thinking about its owner.
If it were a subordinate or someone else picking him up and bringing him an umbrella on a rainy day, Ji Fang might not have felt this strongly. But since it was his pet that did it, the surprise was a different kind of feeling.
Ji Fang patted its head, thinking that since it could open the door at any time, it was still not safe. He decided to replace the door tomorrow.

In the middle of the night, Ji Fang was awakened by a burning heat source next to him. He touched Qiao Ye's forehead and realized that his family member had a fever.
Ji Fang frowned; he didn't know what to do if his pet was sick.
He patted the original man's face and saw that the original man was awake, but his eyes were glazed, and he fell into a deep sleep again.
Since arriving here, Qiao has never been sick, even after experiencing the horrors of the Primal Slaughterhouse.
I guess it's because life is better now and I've relaxed a bit. Yesterday I stepped barefoot into cold water and caught a chill, which caused me to develop a high fever.
Ji Fang thought that Wei Liangguan Yangyuan was more experienced, so he immediately tried to make a call, but the call did not go through.
The situation in Jianwu is complicated, and there may be serious magnetic interference. It is normal that Weiliang Pass would not be able to receive communications if he went deep into Youyuan Forest.
Ji Fang turned and made a communication call to the military doctor.
Military doctor Dong Renhuai received a communication from the general in the middle of the night, and thought it was an urgent mission or that the general had some health problem.
"Your primitive human has a high fever?" Dong Renhuai was completely bewildered. No, he was a doctor, but not a veterinarian. He had never treated a primitive human before!
"Well, you can give it some fever reducer," Dong Renhuai suggested. After thinking for a moment, he added, "Give it half the adult dose, but it's best to take it to the vet during the day."
It's the middle of the night. General Ji doesn't have any veterinary medicine at home, and there's probably no one at the veterinary hospital either. The original humans are still humans, so the method used to treat the Cohen people should be the same, right?
Ji Fang found a box of fever reducers at home. It was leftover from his cold last year. He fed some to Qiao Ye, who swallowed it with warm water.
Ji Fang originally thought that feeding the pet medicine would be troublesome, but he didn't expect it to be so cooperative.
Joe took the medicine and started sweating within half an hour. His hands and feet were no longer cold and remained at a certain temperature, which meant that his temperature would not continue to rise.
Ji Fang wiped his sweat with a dry towel, took his temperature and saw that it was stable, so he felt relieved.
The next morning, Ji Fang quickly and briefly handled some matters through his personal terminal: "If there's anything important, report it immediately!"
"Yes," Li Cheng replied, wondering what the general wanted. Usually, no matter how busy the general was, he would come to the military camp first. It was unusual for him to be in such a hurry today.
Dong Renhuai happened to come over and saw Li Cheng. He greeted him, "Hey, the Yuanren that the general is raising is sick. He actually asked me to treat him yesterday."
Li Cheng suddenly realized, "So that's how it is. No wonder the general didn't come."
Li Cheng looked at Dong Renhuai and asked, "You didn't cure him?"
This was the first time Dong Renhuai's medical skills had been questioned because of a primitive human, and he was very angry: "What do you mean? My medical skills were passed down from my great-grandfather. Besides, my duty is to treat people, not primitive humans. I'm not a veterinarian. Do you think I'm running around the military camp every day to treat a bunch of primitive humans?"
Li Cheng chuckled, "Oh dear, it's not that I doubt your medical skills, sir. It's just that the Primordial Human is the General's treasure. If you make a mistake, I'm just worried about you!"
Dong Renhuai pondered, somewhat uncertain: "It should be alright, right? That medicine shouldn't be enough to kill a native..."
Li Cheng was surprised that Fatty Dong really couldn't be cured. He said in a serious tone, "You didn't really cause something wrong with the treatment, did you? The general usually comes to the camp long ago, but he didn't come today."
Dong Renhuai also felt guilty: "This shouldn't be my fault. If I die, will the general transfer me to the most difficult place for training? I'm doomed, I'm doomed..."
Li Cheng gloated along with him, patting his shoulder and whispering in his ear, "You'd better pray that the Primal Man is healthy and lives a long life, otherwise you're finished..."
Dong Renhuai kicked out, but Li Cheng nimbly dodged. Dong Renhuai looked at the gloating man and threatened, "Don't get sick, don't fall into my hands, or I'll stab you hard with a needle, I'm telling you."
Li Cheng grinned and said, "Don't worry, I'm perfectly healthy!"
The two joked around for a while, then put the matter of General Yuan's illness to heart.

As they were leaving, Ji Fang took out a leash and, seeing Qiao's strong resistance, explained, "I need a leash to take you to the hospital."
Sure enough, after the explanation was clear, Ji Fang found that his family members were very cooperative.
Ji Fang noticed that it looked listless, weak, and pale. It hadn't eaten or drunk anything this morning.
Thinking that the original human might have caught a chill from being barefoot in the rain, Ji Fang looked at its fair feet on the floor and thought about buying it pet socks and shoes.
Ji Fang picked up the barefoot Qiao Ye and carried him down the street from the residential area, then drove him to a pet hospital.
There weren't many people at the pet hospital, but there were many different kinds of animals in cages.
As soon as Ji Fang entered, the people at the pet hospital felt a strong aura and were shocked by the cold and ruthless temperament emanating from him.
This is the border, and there are troops stationed here year-round. They thought this must be a soldier, and a soldier who brought the original people here.
A staff member came over and asked in a friendly manner, "Hello, welcome. What service do you need?"
Ji Fang said, "It had a fever in the middle of the night last night, so I brought it to see a doctor."
Soon, Dr. Xu, a veterinarian from the pet hospital, came over and examined Qiao.
Dr. Xu was very experienced. He said, "There's nothing wrong. You just caught a cold. Did you get caught in the rain yesterday?"
Ji Fang nodded: "Yes."
Dr. Xu prescribed a medicine and I got the prescription: "Just take it once a day, rest well, and don't let it get cold."
Dr. Xu asked, "Do you want to take your medicine now?"
Ji Fang said, "Okay."
Dr. Xu opened the medicine box, took out a small bottle of medicine, and called his assistant to prepare to hold Qiao down and force-feed her the medicine.
Pets usually don't take medicine willingly and will resist violently. Dr. Xu was about to press down on Qiao Ye's neck with his hand, but Qiao Ye dodged it.
Ji Fang took the medicine and said, "It doesn't need to be force-fed; it can drink it on its own."
Seeing the employer say this, Dr. Xu stood aside and watched with some curiosity whether the primitive human would eat it. After all, primitive humans are a very fragile and noisy species, some of whom are even very temperamental and aggressive, so it is not an easy task to successfully feed them medicine.
Ji Fang brought the medicine and gave it to Qiao Ye, saying, "Take the medicine, and you'll get better, be good."
Dr. Xu felt that this customer had too high expectations of his pet Yuanren. How could he expect Yuanren to take the medicine so easily after just a few words? The medicine tasted particularly strange, and the smell alone made Yuanren very resistant to it.
Qiao also glanced at the doctor who was watching the show from the side. He knew that the doctor had just tried to force-feed him. If he didn't eat, he would definitely be forced to eat.
Qiao Ye obediently picked up the medicine Ji Fang handed over, smelled it, and found it very unpleasant and strange. Qiao Ye's face scrunched up like an old man's.
Looking at the expression on the original human's face, Dr. Xu knew just as expected that it would not drink obediently and that he would have to force it to drink the medicine. Just as he was about to do it again, he saw the original human tilt its head back very boldly and gulp down the medicine in one go.
Qiao finished the medicine and felt his mouth was filled with an unpleasant taste. He stuck out his tongue and his face turned green. What kind of medicine was this? It tasted terrible. No wonder the doctor forced him to drink it.
Dr. Xu had never seen such a cooperative Primal Human before. He glanced at the Primal Human's owner and wondered if the Primal Human had been trained in the military. But such fragile and delicate creatures as Primal Humans were not suitable as combat pets.
Seeing how obedient and well-behaved this creature was, Dr. Xu noticed it wasn't feeling well and brought it a glass of water. He tentatively handed it to the creature, which it promptly took and gulped down.
Dr. Xu said to Ji Fang with some surprise, "Your original human is very intelligent. I have never seen an original human who cooperates so well when taking medicine. He is very humane. Can he understand human speech?"
Hearing this, Qiao became a little nervous and subconsciously drank another glass of water before swallowing. Ji Fang then said, "It's very smart and can understand some of what it says."
Dr. Xu smiled: "So cute! By the way, has it been dewormed this year? If not, it can come here to get it dewormed after it recovers. It's summer now, the season with high temperatures, which is when the intestines are easily infected with parasites and bacteria."
Ji Fang nodded naturally: "Okay, I'll come again in a while."
