Chapter 102: Imprisoning the Magician Who Summoned the Devil

Chapter 102: Imprisoning the Magician Who Summoned the Devil

Now that the audience has arrived, it's time for the special performance.

Sewell couldn't do any magic tricks, so he used real magic.

People walking in the market discovered that the boy who loved street performances suddenly possessed superb skills today.

For example, the ball-tossing performance that we are already tired of watching. Usually he just turns the balls into eggs, which looks unoriginal. But today is different. The colorful balls in his hand suddenly turn into a bunch of small animals as he tosses them.

Rabbits, cats, dogs, pigeons...all kinds of small animals ran away from his hands. The person next to him picked up the rabbit that hit his leg, and the rabbit immediately turned into a small ball and fell to the ground.

Other animals also return to their original form once caught.

"Julian! I told you you were a magician, right? Others didn't believe it, but I always trusted you!" A voice shouted from the crowd.

"That's not what you said before, Bobby. Didn't you say Julian was just an ordinary juggler?" another voice said loudly.

The crowd was noisy, and the magic tricks made the onlookers amazed, and this time the magician's hat was really firmly placed on Julian's head.

It also convinced Ralph and Reuben upstairs.

Darien, sitting above Sewell, clearly saw Ralph call over a servant and whisper something in his ear.

The servant nodded repeatedly and soon appeared in the crowd watching the performance.

I don't know what Ralph ordered, but the servant didn't come forward to watch their performance. Instead, he quietly squeezed towards the people who seemed to know Julian. I guess after the performance is over, he will ask these people to confirm whether Julian has any magical powers.

Sewell didn't know much magic, and even less that he could use for performances, so after a lot of chaos, he walked away with Darien on his head.

The servant quickly stopped people in the crowd and asked them questions.

I believe it won’t be long before Ralph and Reuben come to arrest people.

According to normal activities, Seville has to go to the orphanage again.

Darien, the little gerbil, lay in Seville's hair, pulling at a few strands of hair out of boredom.

Seville quickly came to the fence on the side of the orphanage from the market. It was the children's working time.

Darien was a little unhappy because he thought that his rose would be given to someone else.

Every time Julian came here, he would give Mother Teresa the most beautiful rose, and he didn't know if Seville would do the same.

Unhappy.

Sewell's scalp was slightly tingling, and Darien had been grabbing the strands of hair with varying degrees of force along the way, and he felt that the patch might be a little bald.

The children came over cheering, completely unaware that the magician had been replaced. They stared with wide eyes, waiting for the show and candy.

Seville repeated his performance at the market, but unlike Julian's usual style, after distributing the candies, he bent down, pushed the children aside, and pulled over the figure who was squeezed on the outside.

"Here's to you." He placed a candy in little Darien's palm.

"Thank you." Little Darien clenched his hands, looking nervous and happy.

The little gerbil Darien's hand loosened, and Sevier's scalp was finally saved.

Of course, everything that happened in the orphanage was seen by Ralph and Reuben.

Under the influence of the deliberately created illusion, they were convinced that Julian, played by Sewell, was a magician, so when Darien and Sewell returned to the house, they came again.

This time they made more thorough preparations, bringing valuable gifts and money in an attempt to win the magician's heart.

"Look here, this enamel clock is worth a lot of gold coins. This is a check for 1,000 gold coins. As long as you fulfill our wishes, these things will be yours." Ralph said with a smile.

"I thought I had made it clear that I am not a magician and cannot fulfill your wishes," said Sewell.

"Don't keep denying it, Julian," Reuben said. "We all know it. Everyone who knows you admits that you are a magician. Why don't you let us in so we can have a good chat."

Ralph and Reuben stood on either side of the door, blocking the gap and preventing Sewell from closing it.

Sewell turned aside and let them in.

There were no guests visiting Julian's house. Not to mention tea and snacks to entertain guests, there wasn't even an extra empty sofa.

When Ralph and Reuben came in, they stood awkwardly on the only empty patch of carpet and spoke to Sewell like servants.

Sewell said, "You can say it now."

Ralph suppressed his frustration and said, "Now that we have wealth and status, of course we want to pursue different things. For example, a stronger body and youth are what we want."

Sewell said, "You actually still believe this. Putting aside whether I'm a real magician or not, don't you think it would be ridiculous for such a wish to come true?"

Reuben said, "Of course not. Magicians can grant such wishes. I've witnessed it with my own eyes..."

He suddenly stopped talking; he had said enough.

Sewell said, "I've heard enough from you, but unfortunately I'm not a magician. I can't fulfill your wishes, so please leave. And please stop trying to do anything. I know you're following me, so let's end this."

Ralph's smile faded instantly, and all expression disappeared from his face. "Then we'll take our leave. See you later."

This means that they will never give up.

He left here very neatly with Reuben.

After their carriage left, Darien changed back into human form: "Do you think they will give up?"

"Obviously, they don't," Sewell said. "Because we're still here."

Darien sighed softly. "This could have been simpler, right? I could have just made sure the key was in my own hands."

Sewell said, "We've already persuaded him, haven't we?"

As had happened before, Ralph and Reuben went to the parish priest and planned an operation to exterminate wizards.

The real Julian took off his mask, no longer wore those funny colorful clothes, and secretly pursued Mother Teresa with roses in his hands.

Without success, Mother Teresa would certainly not agree to such a thing. Even though she had a good impression of Julian, she also had her own responsibilities.

But that will soon change.

Sewell still dutifully plays the role of Julian, waiting for the witch hunt planned by Ralph and Reuben to come.

They didn't have to wait too long, because it was not difficult to convict a magician. They just needed to find a few people to testify that they had witnessed the magician summoning the devil. No evidence was needed to arrest Julian and send him to the stake.

The procession from the church entered Julian's house in the middle of the night, carrying torches.

Darien almost didn't dodge well. He rolled off Sevier's body, rolled under the bed, and immediately drank a bottle of magic potion to become invisible, so he was not caught.

Seville was dragged from his bed with his collar still half open. The small room was full of people.

"Who are you and why are you breaking into someone's house in the middle of the night?" he asked.

"Julian, after investigation, we found out that you are an evil magician who summoned the devil. You are about to make a cruel sacrifice to the orphanage. We will arrest you now." said the leading priest.

"How come I'm the last one to know about this?" asked Sewell.

"Take him away." The pastor didn't want to waste any more time talking to him, but waved his hand and asked someone to take him away.

Outside the house was a quiet street, but those who were woken up secretly crowded to the window and listened to what was happening.

The chaotic footsteps gradually faded away, and Darien also crawled out from under the bed.

Sewell was taken into custody and loaded onto a carriage, and Darien happened to see him for the last time.

I'm fine, it will be over soon.

Sewell mouthed.

Darien clenched his fists.
